My husband took me here as part of a surprise few days away to celebrate turning 50. I had no idea where we were going and was thrilled when we turned at the large gates and up the mile long forest drive to the house. Despite the grand entrance I was still stunned when I saw the house and was...

My wife and I stayed for one night last week on our way from Dublin to Belfast. I had heard so much about this 'hotel' and it had such positive reviews that I just had to book. The property is a wonderful old house at the end of a very long drive through woods and the estate. We were warmly...

This is not just a country house , but a trip into a distant past. Hilton Park situated on 600 acres of rolling greenery, lakes, and woodland has remained in the care of the Madden family since it was built in 1734. Fred and Johanna Madden with their young family are the 10th generation to take on the onerous task...

Spent two nights here to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We were made most welcome. Joanna is a great host and along with her chef husband Fred provided us with a memorable experience. They are both very hands on and create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The house is unique containing a rich array of books, pictures and family artefacts...

What an absolute joy ! We have been visiting for years and as we had a major birthday two weks ago we decided to celebrate in real style at the absolutely sublime Hilton Park. We reserved almost two years in advance with the consummate professionals Fred Madden and his charming and brilliant wife Johanna who kindly accommodated the florist (the...

A stay at Hilton Park transports you back in time, albeit a more privileged period with some modern conveniences thrown in to the mix. The rooms are all lovely, the estate is fabulous for exploring and the Maddens are so delightful - they truly make you feel at home. We had such a wonderful time and I wish we could...

Staying at Hilton Park was such a privilege and is something I will remember for a long time. The closest you'll get to time travel is staying in one of their rooms, which are beautiful and comfortable but also filled with interesting things to look at (art, decor, books) and gorgeous views. I could have spent an entire day just doing that....

My husband & I travelled with 2 friends. The house is very welcoming.Old fashioned grandeur at it's best. Extremely comfortable. Set in 600 acres with a lake.Stand alone deep baths. Photographs of the family everywhere dating a long time ago. Also books are on every conceivable surface including bathrooms. We felt like invited house guests instead of paying guests. Food...

We had a wonderful babymoon here for the last trip as only two. I chose here as it looked as far as possible from a chain style hotel and how this is so. It's like staying with the family in a grand old home of a different era. Joanna's hospitality is wonderful. We were lucky our stay coincided with one...

This wonderful country house is certainly off the beaten track but once you find it, you won't be disappointed. From the first meet & greet from the owners, to the afternoon pampering in a beautiful drawing room (there are several to choose from), to the tranquility of the bedroom, and quaintness of each and every room, the wonderful staircase &...
