We stayed here for 2 nights this week. There were a lot of good things about this hotel but unfortunately, in our experience, the bad outweighed the good. We had a river view room (9) which was lovely but having gone to bed around 10pm the racket from outside was dreadful. It sounded to me as though it was coming... More

Disappointing. Highly over-rated and uncomfortable castle. Our beds were so old that there were imprints where the previous people slept. When you lay down you sink in about an extra 10 inches. The room was incredibly hot and the entire castle was rather noisy throughout the night. When I spoke to the manager about this she simply smiled and said,... More

My wife and I stayed here recently and from moment we entered the lobby to be met with wonderful charming and friendly staff and a roaring log fire surrounded by leather furniture to sink into, we knew we would have a special time. We stayed in the main house, room 20. It was tastefully furnished with period furniture, maybe a... More

Rooms are nice but it is true that it need a kind of "lifting ". Nature is wonderfull around this... More

We stayed here for 2 nights for our friends wedding and had an amazing time. The hotel is really lovely and we had a superior room overlooking the river which was well worth it, huge room, great dressing area and bathroom. The staff were excellent and the food very special. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is not stuffy... More

We really enjoyed our overnight stay here. It is very relaxing with a welcoming open fire and many different places to sit and enjoy the ambience. I am a big fan of Irish Coffee's and by far the one served here was the best I have had in a long time. They provide two options for dinner. Either in their... More

Our party of four stayed here for two wonderful nights! One couple stayed in a superior double room. Gorgeous with plenty of room. Wonderful bathroom except the toilet seat did not fit right on the toilet. Very awkward. The other couple stayed in a classic riverside room. Though smaller, it was very nice with wonderful bathroom. Little bit of a... More

This is a fantastic Castle hotel. The staff are friendly and not pretentious like what you'd get in many hotels of this nature. We went for a package called Duvet Day which included room service dinner to the room. It was worth every penny. The little touches like mini cupcakes sent to the room with the turn down service. I... More

Stayed here to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. I e-mailed the hotel staff in advance for the birthday dinner - both cocktails in the Hunt Room and dinner in the dining room. Everything could not have been better. The rooms were lovely, the service excellent, and food wonderful. Lovely grounds for walking with the river and mountain views.... More
