Stayed here a few weeks back to meet a foreign business colleague who wanted to stay in this location. Get the positives out of the way, nice clean hotel, friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately just feels like a big hotel that could be anywhere in the world, no character, located in a business park well away from everything, breakfast was self service and quite poor, seem to just herd people in and out... Overpriced for what it is...

My room felt a little dated and the bathroom was a bit tied something from the 80s. Had no view as the window was hazed and when I opened it there was a view of wall right outside. Very poor for the price they charged

Excellent hospitality, cleanliness & service throughout our stay. The hotel was extremely busy the weekend we stayed with the majority of residents attending the same event. The staff were very pleasant and professional & were plentiful on the ground. Will be back!

We stayed here the night before Mayo were playing Dublin in the all Ireland final and this was Mayo's team hotel. It was full and very noisy but that is to be expected. Our dinner was spoiled by having to wait 45 minutes for the main course and all we got in compensation was a free cup of coffee. Avoid sports finals and you'll enjoy this hotel.

It is a very clean hotel; I arrived early and I used the ladies cloakroom / locker room; I was told I could use the showers and use the lockers for my goods whilst my room was been prepared; I was in a hurry so I was happy to use this room and leave my belongings safely there. The bedroom and bathroom was very clean and new feel about it; Overall I was very pleased and the price was reasonable. Breakfast - was the only issue I had that morning - I really think you could offer pots of tea or coffee - rather than use the little machines where you have to walk up with your cup to... Its a small thing and I think it would add more of a professional - top class breakfast if this was available.

There for the All Ireland weekend. From Saturday to late Sunday night, there was a shocking level of stock in all the bars. This was before it even got busy. No cucumber, lemon, lime and given a brandy in a tiny plastic cup!! Disgrace. I know they expected a large crowd, but bad planning. Plan B should have been to give out plastic glasses, but not at 6pm in the evening.

Response from CitywestHotel, Quality & Standards Manager at Citywest Hotel
Responded 27 Sept 2017
Dear dill0, We are always disappointed when we receive negative feedback and are sorry that you felt our team were not guest focused on the night in question. During weekends such as an All-Ireland Sunday changes are made to facilitate the large volume of guests and supporters who visit the hotel after the game, I appreciate that this may not be what was expected and apologise for the alternative service in place that evening. Should you wish to return at a quieter time I would be more than happy to assist with any bookings you may have, I have noted my contact details below. Kind Regards, Gemma Kavanagh, Citywest Hotel

I stayed here for a 4 day Convention. The room was large, though we had to request more towels as the room was for 3 people and there were only towels for too. We also had to request for the bath to be cleaned, though they were apologetic and sorted it. Pool requires pre-booking for use. Luggage storage which is useful. Convention centre wise,it has good space. If you are a vegetarian it is limited. If you are vegan, bring a stash of pot noodles as it is quite a way to get food that you can eat. Considering the convention was made up of a lot of people who are vegetarian and vegan, they ran out of the limited options quickly and I walked a 40 minute round trip to buy bananas which I handed out to hungry friends as I struggled to even find loose fruit to buy. Could do with a

Stayed here with friends and family for 1 night. Easy 10 minute walk to the tram to Dublin from the hotel. We had great service and had the breakfast buffet the morning we left. We all enjoyed it and thought there were enough choices for all of us. Our floor was being renovated. Painting the hallways etc. The bathroom was newly remodeled. We even went back for another night at the end of our Ireland trip 7 days later!

This hotel is located near Dublin. The city centre can easily be reached by tram. The bulding looks great in- and outside, although the rooms could do with a little updating. The furniture is really oldfashioned, but if you like the style... Houskeeping works efficiently and requests are fullfilled without delay. Breakfast is very good, staff are very friendly and professional. The bar offers the usual bar menu, good decent food, no frills.

Four minutes to get an answer at your operator number which is also your emergency number! Elevator the same size as it was twenty years ago when the hotel was half the size. Unable to make a local call unless I go back to reception to give my credit card that you already had. Side doors alarmed requiring to walk to the length of the hotel to get back to where the car was parked...not a user friendly hotel, you have a long way to go to get back to your service Levels of twenty years ago, it's a pity.
