Sunbrae House enjoys some fame because it is the only B&B in Dalkey, Ireland, remaining. And it is reasonably clean; seventy euro per night is not bad value. What spoiled it for us was the consistently disagreeable attitude -- generously expressed -- of the B&B's person-in-charge, who seemed to dislike her guests and made everyone uncomfortable. The b and B is in a nice small town. There was some where nice close by to go for a walk or get something to eat or even go for a quite drink. I was trvelling alone. Host was very helpful,Showed where the breakfast room was and if wanted to watch tv there could also. The room was nice...

My friends and I have stayed at Sunbrae on numerous trips per year since 2004 and never had a bad experience. The rooms are pleasant and well maintained with suitable amenities as would be expected. While the rate was Ok, the room was lacking in most expected amenities for a bed and breakfast. bedding was faded, towels thin, and television mounted near the ceiling felt more like a hospital. Host pleasant, but not much help with directions or things to do in the area.
