After spending a week at Ballymaloe House and attending the world renown Ballymaloe Cookery School, we are very sad to leave. This hotel, the staff and the food were wonderful. The staff could not have been warmer or more gracious. The fantastically fresh locally sourced cuisine was heavenly. The grounds are beautiful and full of alcoves and secret gardens. The...

I had high expectations of Ballymaloe (who wouldn't?). And in many ways it met those expectations. Some highlights: -amazing grounds, lovely to walk -very nice staff -Hazel is a gem -very good breakfast -good wifi If you seek a more formal dining experience with multiple courses of rich food, Ballymaloe is for you. I did have a few nits to...

Ballymaloe is a gem nestled in beautiful surroundings and not one to be missed. My partner and I had a beautiful 5 course dinner here and were astounded by the standard of cooking, knowledge of local ingredients and brilliant service which all combined made for one of the best evenings we had in Cork. The waiters and waitresses were so...

Stayed five nights and felt very priveledged to have the Ballymaloe experience. From the fabulous meals and service to feeling part of the family at the Saturday night singalong in the lounge with Rory. The extended Allen family are involved in all aspects of running the property and this place is unlike any other because it is truly a family business...

We had a lovely room in the courtyard. Very quiet and comfortable. We arrived for breakfast just after a bus tour group and staff were a bit hassled, so service was not what it should have been. But at €120 per head (€240 for the two of us), we would have expected better.

We first encountered the skills of Darina Allen when she was a visiting chef at Chez Panisse in Berkeley CA. We lunched on what my wife still calls the best salmon ever and what I still call the best little clams I'm ever likely to have. So a night at her home venue was a must-do as we covered Ireland...

My wife and I stayed at the Ballymaloe House for one night while celebrating our 30th Anniversary. We were more than pleased. This is an old school, elegant establishment and it was my wife's favorite stay during our 2 weeks in Ireland. Amazing food, both dinner and the breakfast. Elegant room - we stayed in the family suite 1. Wonderful...

it is interesting to read CM's review of their great experience of a birthday at Ballymaloe. Sadly we did not receive similar treatment. I brought my sister to Ballymaloe for 2 nights to celebrate her 70th birthday. When making the reservation I requested a small cake with candle as dessert for dinner on her birthday, I received a very warm...

Our family of five visited Ballymaloe for lunch to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the house everything was wonderful. Staff were so pleasant and welcoming and in particular the wonderful lady who served us our meal. All courses ordered were magnificent, we were offered second helpings and those of us who accepted received very...
