"I picked it," he said, "as it seems to have all 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor." "Hmm." I said. "Hmm." He replied. And we both raised a quizzical eyebrow. Obviously, the only way from here was downhill. And yet - it wasn't. From the second you arrive, to the second you, most reluctantly, depart - you enter a cocoon of gracious...

I stayed here along with my bridal party and parents the night before my wedding last month. What a beautiful place! The rooms are huge and all so clean with really comfortable beds. Bobbie and her daughter couldn't have done enough for us. There were vegan friendly foods for one of the girls for breakfast the following morning. I had...

Lorum is a real hidden gem. It is quality accommodation, fine food and with a very hospitable, friendly family looking after everyone. This is a superb bolt hole in beautiful surroundings. The Old Rectory is maintained with real quality detail and lots of personal touches. The food is worth the trip on its own. Dinner is extra but well worth...

What a wonderful break we had at this beautiful country home. Greeted by Bobbie, offered coffee and cake and settled into our elegant and very comfortable bedroom with views over the lovely garden. Delicious full irish breakfast along with fresh fruits and yogurt were enjoyed and a four course home cooked gourmet dinner was well worth pre booking. Well worth...

Stayed here for 4 nights and did not want to leave, the house, the area, peace and quiet was second to none. The evening meal was superb. Our host Bobbie was just so lovely. I will definitely stay there again. I loved our vast room and 4 poster bed.

We stayed in Lorum Old Rectory in September for a special birthday celebration for a quiet getaway. The host Bobbie was lovely and we enjoyed welcome tea & cake on arrival by a lovely log burning fire. The evening meal was superb and served in the most beautiful dining room again with a lovely fire with just the two of...

From the welcoming cup of tea to the drinks by the open fire, to the excellent five course dinner in an appropriately gracious setting, to a comfortable room where everything worked, to a huge range of fruit, bread and cooked breakfast, the experience was uninterrupted self indulgence. We will be back to Lorum.

A wonderful guesthouse in the County Carlow countryside. The host, Bobbie, is a wonderful lady who provides a fantastic service. The house is decorated very tastefully. I'm sure it has not changed very much over the years, but it's kept extremely well and with a lot of love, I'm sure. Our bedroom, the blue room, was beautiful, very comfortable and...

Lorum Old Rectory is a lovely old church rectory located in the country, a short distance from two towns and about 25 minutes from the small medieval town of Kilkenny. Bobbi Smith, the proprietor greeted us on arrival with tea and freshly made date bread which was only the beginning of the wonderful hospitality we enjoyed here. The rooms were...

We spent the weekend in Lorum for a wedding in nearby Borris. Lorum is a charming old comfortable house with large bedrooms and lots of common spaces to relax in. The bed was super comfortable and the largest towels I have ever seen in a B&B were supplied in the en suite bathroom. We brought our dog after discovering this...
