The Oliver Hotel is by far the best Hotel in Knoxville. Great access to downtown and Market Square in a historical hotel that has a lot of character. I live in Knoxville, but my wife and I stay here frequently for events going on downtown.

The Oliver Hotel was certainly the best hotel of our extended three week trip through the south. Everyone was so very nice. Front Desk, bar and Hksp. Deano was great and very helpful. The room was wonderful. Great bed. Bathroom was large and comfortable. Wife missed a shower cap. Towels big and comfy. Access to web was quick and easy....

The Oliver Hotel has to be the best hotel in Knoxville. It is a Boutique hotel located downtown next to the Market Square. There are many restaurants, bars and shops near by. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Also, the hotel bar is a fun experience. We stayed two nights for my nieces wedding and fell in love with...

Fantastic location - it's right in the middle of downtown. A 1 minute walk to lots of restaurants and bars. The only downside is that Market Square does sometimes get loud and you can hear it in your hotel room, but it's really not bad. Staff - everyone is always very cordial and helpful. No negative things to say at...

We just spent 6 nights in The Oliver Hotel downtown Knoxville and simply loved the area. The hotel is a neat boutique hotel and their restaurant, Tupelo Honey, is great. The only thing that would make it better is for the restaurant to be in the hotel instead of next door. It was raining and you had to go out...

I lived in Knoxville for college and must admit that I was shocked when I saw the hotel on the website. The website does not do this hotel justice! The staff is amazing, so kind and helpful. We loved that they had an adjacent restaurant. The food was perfect. But the most unexpected and welcomed surprise was the speakeasy in...

The Oliver is perfectly located to enjoy downtown Knoxville and UT football. Hotel was warm and cozy with a friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed being able to explore the square while being close enough to pop in and out of the hotel.

This was our second stay at this beautiful hotel. We were in town for a play at the Tennessee Theater. It is a wonderful location for walking around downtown Knoxville and is near to many restaurants and activities. We were very pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade this time, and although I would have been perfectly content with the lovely...

Very nice old style hotel, right off Market Square. Good staff and a nice bar. The location is perfect. As an older hotel, rooms are a bit small, but very well maintained. Stay here if you like old style downtown hotels.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar. ... more   less
