Small King room with tiny bathroom but very clean. We have stayed at Red Roof Inns for years because they are pet friendly. Our two dogs are clean, quiet and friendly. When making reservations I noted we have TWO dogs. Prior to arriving I called and requested a bottom floor room because we have TWO dogs. A very nice man said no problem. At check in I told girl we have 2 dogs and gave us a bottom floor room near pet walk area. We have been there two days and this morning we walked to front desk to request towels. The manager saw us & the dogs and said we are not allowed there because we have 2 and one is over 80lbs. She will LET us stay because we are already there. My brother just had triple bypass surgery yesterday and I am driving back and forth to Erlanger with the dogs and definitely did not need this added stress. We need to stay longer because my brother is still intubated but now we can’t. I am beyond pissed. Our dogs are well trained and excellent and we were the only pet people who picked up our dog poop. We have stayed at RedRoofs all over Florida & Georgia with no problem and I am a rewards member.

Dear Valued Customer, I am the manager that you spoke with, and you were never asked to leave nor were you refused to extend your stay. After our brief talk it was just a heads up I said when traveling with Red Roof Inn, The pet policy that you sign at every facility does advise you of the one pet policy, under 80 lbs. we do try to accommodate guest with two pets that still equal the weight restriction, also told to you when we spoke. I am very sorry to hear about your family in the hospital, however, my staff and self were never offered an opportunity, to accommodate your needs

My bf and I stayed here for the weekend. We were looking for something affordable so we would be able to go to the aquarium, incline railway, and eat out for the weekend. It’s a great location I love staying in lookout mountain rather than downtown because there is way less traffic. The room was clean and quaint fine for just a few nights. The pool is very small and heated so we didn’t really use it and of course because of covid the breakfast was not available . But for the price you can’t complain if you’re just going to use the room to sleep in.

Our stay here was good and not-so good. We requested a ground floor room and that's what we got, which some hotels won't do if we arrive later in the day. We were able to park right at the door. Room and everything was pretty clean. The things we used worked well (refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer) but I didn't see an ironing board. TV worked fine. The shower worked well and had one of those shower curtain rods that gives you more room. The sink/counter area was large and separate from the toilet tub. The breakfast was okay with hot scrambled eggs & sausage, biscuits & gravy, packaged pastries, bagels, some cereal, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. There were washers and dryers in the room where the pool is. We didn't try the pool but it was large and indoors and looked nice. There was a $100 deposit and since we paid with a credit card, they said there would be no problem about having to pay it in cash.

On the negative side: The room had an odor... not really smoke but something that wasn't particularly pleasant. The room felt very humid and "sticky" despite the a/c working to lower the temperature. I didn't like the feel of the tile floors on my bare feet. There was no tissue in the tissue dispenser. Although there was room for a table and chair, there wasn't any. We ate our carry-out dinner sitting on the bed. Pillows were only okay and all were the same. Toilet/tub area was very small. No elevator for 2nd floor rooms.

Red Roof Inn Chattanooga - Lookout Mountain

Chattanooga

We stayed in the Chattanooga Lookout Mointain Red Roof. Was advertised as a nice family motel. Hotel Staff was very nice but their hands were tied in helping us with our problem. We had two young children with us and they put us in the section where they housed long term tenants. They did drug deals and drank outside our room all night. We couldn’t use the pool or leave our room because they were smoking pot and crack, all night. At two in the morning there were guests honking and partying in the parking lot. My 8 year old was exposed to all of this as was my 14 year old. When we woke up in the morning we opened the door to a woman sitting directly on the curb by our front door smoking weed and drinking beer. Itook a picture of what I saw. I promptly went to the front desk to have management remove her because she wouldn’t leave. He did and told her to go back in her room. However she did not and went down the entire row of rooms and started rousing her friends to beat us up. My husband had to guard our camper while I packed up the girls so we could leave. We told the morning attendant and she was very sorry. She said that Red Roof brought the group in to live there permantly. I say if you want to run a family hotel you don’t keep drug addicts in your motel. Also don’t advertise non-smoking because every room had smokers in it and our room reeked of smoke.

Responded 20 Jul 2021
Dear Guest We are deeply sorry that you had this experience, However, it saddens me that you saw a large group of African American people and automatically labeled them as drug addicts, I do know and understand these young adults were knuckle heads rowdy, very inconsiderate of other guest during your stay, but let me say that DRUG ADDICTS they were not. (These were young workers from KY and LA, so no drug dealers) We DO NOT tolerate that kind of behavior, so after many complaints of their loud music, noise and feisty behavior they were asked to leave. Again, I do apologize that you felt threatened. Several, onlooking guest and staff did confirm that no one spoke to you or threatened to beat you up, and after reviewing my camera we saw no one near your camper. At Red Roof we are determined to treat each and every customer with respect and courtesy. Their behavior and any prejudice behavior IS NOT ALLOWED here. If you would like to discuss this matter any further, please feel free to contact us here at the property.

Two stars are for the cleanliness of the room and Danielle, a nice front desk night associate. The indoor pool wasn't too bad. Otherwise, I will never stay here again. There was a problem with the online reservation service I used (I thought it was the hotel reservations). Others also had problems! There is a sign on the front desk that there is a $100 refundable deposit. That was a surprise. The rooms are very cramped barely enough room for a large dog crate), hard pillows, salty pool water, trash all over the property, and an unfriendly front desk manager. If I treated my customers the way she treated me, I would not have a business. It was all over covid and no breakfast! All I wanted to do is toast MY OWN bread with the toaster. I didn't think it was a problem, since there is coffee, tea, and juice available. FYI.....There is no elevator to the second floor. Ice machine was "Out of Order," but the vending machines were fine. Covid again?? I will stay in a private cabin, house or apartment next time!

Dear Guest, I'm so glad to hear your feedback, Let me begin with our property is cleaned every morning by our maintenance guy, However, it is very hard to keep up with debris every second, especially our guest who like to litter, lol but I do wish you expressed your concerns during your 4 day stay with us. I do apologize that the salt water pool, was to salty. but we are required to have a certain amount of salt in pool to balance chemical levels. When you came down to the closed eating area (without a face mask),you were advised that the area was closed, you untied cords and plugged up our appliances for your personal needs, (Never came to the front desk to ask, were we could have assisted in our back kitchen area) When Covid was mentioned as to why we don't offer this area to guest, You said '' HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO USE COVID?" I did explain as long as people are getting sick and dying, we have to follow guidelines. You then said: " PEOPLE DIE EVERYDAY FROM COLDS'', At that point it was clear that your lack of concern, the safety of my staff, guest and yours was not important to you. The disregard of common courtesy of thy neighbor, was very shocking to me, even mentioned by on looking guest who were sitting in the lobby with their mask on. I do understand that these are trying times for us all, but here at Red Roof Inn, we try to treat each and every guest with respect and in todays age, it starts with wearing a mask, following state guidelines and keeping one another safe. Again Thank you for taking the time for letting us know about your stay, I will be sure to share with my staff Travel Safetly

If you are traveling with your dog, you know pet friendly hotels are typically not 5 star. Room smelled strongly of recent heavy cigarette smoke. Sheets clearly were not changed in between guests. Neither I, nor my husband, could figure out the shower controls. Upon checkout when I advised about the sheets and shower, Moe, the manager, immediately produced laminated instructions for the shower which tells me, clearly, I am not the only guest who couldn’t figure it out. I get that things aren’t always perfect when traveling, but a simple I am sorry would have been sufficient. Instead, Moe just said “shower works” and “I’ll inform housekeeping” while again showing me the laminated instructions. I completed a review they emailed me after checkout and immediately received a response from Moe telling me I was rude. Idk, I guess for $200 I expected clean sheets, a shower and little customer service.

To be brief, We spent $100.00 to stay at a outdated, old, smelly "Dog Kennel".
Exhausted from 700+ mi. drive our options were limited so we stayed ;-(

The room smell was a unique fragrance. Perhaps a combination of mold, dirt, animals, cleaning products, sweaty gym shoes and shorts, and perfume that was regifted 3X as a practical joke. We left the exhaust fan in the bathroom on for our stay hoping to draw in fresh air!
The furnishings were much like those that you'd find at a rummage sale with stains on the upholstery.
Several electrical outlets didn't work so if you choose to stay, stop at the hardware store first and buy some extension cords!
The "comfort items"? Lol. Sure they had one bath bar of soap and one hand soap. They were so small that you could throw them away after ONE USE! One small tube of shampoo. No lotion, no cream rinse.
The room? We had a "King Size". Rigggghhhhhhhhht? The bathroom felt more like a closet! Possibly the smallest bathroom if every been in?
Second floor rooms? Don't hurt your back carrying heavy luggage up the exterior staircase. NO ELEVATOR!
I'll think twice about ever staying at a Red Roof Inn again.

We had a wonderful stay . The room was in immaculate state upon arrival . Marion was a real pleasure to have dealt with . We booked online and arrived late at 10 pm and Marion took care of us in 6 mins . It was really a relief to get our room so quick so we could get a good night sleep . The beds we very comfy and we enjoyed our room and it had plenty of room for our dogs crate and needs as well . Checking out was also a pleasure with Moe checking us out and making it quick, simple and easy to be on our way . If you’re going to do a stay I would recommend the Red Roof .

Kayla Russo .

I definitely would NOT recommend staying here. I’ve stayed in many budget hotels, but this is one I’d never stay at again, and has left such an impression that I’ll never even consider Red Roof establishments again. From the lack of friendliness upon being greeted at the desk, to the dark, creaking floors as I walked down the hall to the room on dingy carpet that obviously had not even been vacuumed in quite some time, I already had an uneasy feeling that I just needed to leave with my children. The keys wouldn’t open the room door, so I had to go back down to the lobby, & I passed a room with an open door with a man “cleaning” it who went behind me to open our room door without me even asking him. I’d left my two teenage daughters standing at the door, so this made me very uneasy, as he had heard that I was going to get new keys from downstairs. We arrived about 6:30pm, so it was late…very odd that the rooms were being “cleaned” so late. Also, the hall floor that needed very obvious vacuuming did not get vacuumed by said “cleaning” man. The room was quite dark, musty, hot, and only surface area cleaned and still felt very dirty. The beds were high and just ok. There were times that I thought of things that I needed to go get from the vehicle or ice from the machine, but I just didn’t feel safe enough to do so. We left early the next morning & could not get out quickly enough, & I most definitely would not recommend The Red Roof Inn at Lookout Mountain to anyone!

I reserved a room to stay for six nights online 3 weeks before my stay. I used my credit card and when I arrived they insisted on a $100 dollar cash deposit. I didn't understand this because I had the credit card I had reserved the room with and in all other motels this was an acceptable deposit. They pointed to a tiny sign at the front desk to indicate this was the policy. However, this was not mentioned at all on the website or the confirmation I had printed. They told me this was in case I damaged the room and they assured me I would get it back when I checked out and had the room "inspected". I found I had to stay an additional day in town and then leave for Nashville in the AM, so I asked the front desk if they had a room for one more night. They canceled the room I had originally reserved for the last night and then charged me an additional increased fee for that night. I told them I already had reserved that night at a reduced price, but the clerk told me that now it was more and I was going to have to pay the new rate. I said I didn't think this was correct and they said take it up with the manager who was not there. The next morning I went back to the front desk to talk to the manager, who again was not available. I was worried I was going to have trouble getting my room "inspected" and finding the manager to resolve the overcharging business in the early AM the next day. As it ended up there was no manager present at 6 AM and no one to "inspect" my room. I had to demand my $100 cash back since I couldn't wait around. They begrudgingly gave it back and then I again complained about the increase in the room price, and was assured the manager would call me about it. Weeks later no one called, so I called and spoke to the front desk manager who said she would help me if I had the confirmation number. When I started to give her the number, she stopped me and said now she would have to review it and would call me later. Clearly she has no intention of giving me my money back. I will now have to take it up with my credit card company which will easily see they did rip me off. I am complaining here to warn everyone not to stay with them as they are there to rip you off. They are hoping you forget the $100 cash in your hurry to leave, and they are hoping you won't take the time to complain to your credit card company. The room was okay; not dirty but nothing I would ever pick again. The AC stopped working. I had to stay here because I had business nearby that week.
