We originally were going to the Black Hills for one night but really enjoyed ourselves so extended our stay because of our great campsite. Very quiet and clean and geared towards families. Easy access to everything. Definitely will stay there again.

The location was perfect for exploring the Black Hills. You are minutes away from Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Hill City. The room was EXACTLY like it shows in the photos. The room was so clean you could literally "eat off the floors". The sheets were soft, the towels big and fluffy, the coffee was Wolfgang Puck, the bathroom soaps were...

Had a very nice 3 days here. Not too far out of Hill City. We stayed in the Iron Horse. It was a bit smaller than I expected but we knew we weren't going to spend much time inside. We bought Bagels and Cream Cheese to have with our coffee in the morning on the deck. At night, we sat...

We had a great experience here. We stayed in the Sportsmen unit which was large for our family of 6. The interiors seemed newly updated and the kitchen was great. We stayed for 2 nights while we explored Custer State Park and the surrounding area. The owner was very hospitable. We enjoyed the communal fire at night. There was a...

This was the ideal place for our family of 6, we stayed in the cabin next to the playground and we were able to enjoy the great temperatures and watch the kids play in wide open spaces after long days in the car. The management was super nice and accommodating as we also had a child in a wheelchair, there...

The cabin was cozy...OK a tad small... but appointed beautifully, spotlessly clean with lovely fresh linens and a very comfy duvet. We particularly enjoyed the lovely sheltered commom area with picnic tables, bbq's and a lovely outdoor sitting area......perfect...

Close to all the Black Hill attractions without being in the Hill City tourist frenzy. Our room was cozy and very clean with TV, frig, coffemaker, microwave, heat/AC, hairdryer, thick fluffy towels and a comfortable bed. Chuck and staff are real friendly and helpful with suggestions for sight-seeing treks and hikes. Outdoor pavilion has grills, picnic tables and plenty of...

Our week in the Black Hills was the best vacation ever, and Whispering Winds Cottages was the perfect base from which to explore. The location put us within easy driving distance to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park and the 1880 steam train. Even Devil's Tower and Badlands National Park were comfortable day trips. Our host Chuck has...
