My family and I booked a week at this charming and historic Inn and had a wonderful time! The owners are very kind, helpful, and accommodating. The room was very clean, comfortable and interesting as part of the historic space. Lead, SD is a beautiful town to stay in in the Black Hills. Very central to the whole regional experience. If you choose to stay in the Black Hills you really owe it to yourself to stay at the Town Hall Inn in Lead. You won't regret it.
There's no place else I would stay in the Lead/Deadwood area! The rooms are cute and super comfy and immaculately clean. We stayed in the judges chambers, which was amazing - beautiful big windows and nice little kitchenette. My in-laws stayed in the auditors room which had a big kitchenette and 2 comfy arm chairs - perfect for them! We also used the library room, which was smaller but still very nice. Visiting Jailhouse Taps the evening of our stay was also a nice highlight. I highly recommend staying at Town Hall Inn!
If you're staying in the Deadwood area and want to avoid the cookie cutter hotels, this is your place. 5 minutes from downtown Deadwood is perfect. Quiet, clean, wonderfully comfortable and historic place with a Tap Room and e-bike rentals available too. (See the review on Mile High Bike Rentals. The owners and staff are a delight. Friendly and helpful they make sure your stay is like home away from home. We stayed 8 nights in room 102. It has a full working kitchen and full size fridge. Everything we needed for a great vacation home base. In Lead, check out the Sanford Lab across the street or visit the mining museum. From here you can visit Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Hill City, Spearfish Canyon, Custer Park, Wind Cave, Sturgis, Rapid City, all within an hour's drive. Go a little further and see Devil's Tower and Hot Springs. Can't say enough!…
Beautiful historic building, clean rooms, quiet, wonderful staff, great parking and a micro brew pub downstairs. What more could you ask for. Deadwood 5 mins away. Nice old mining town that still holds it's original feel.
Adorable building and rooms. Great friendly, staff, privately owned. Short distance from the hustle and bustle of Deadwood, but Lead is such a cute mining town too. The owners just started offering e-bike rentals. So very glad we are staying in such a unique building. Our room has a vault in it! I absolutely love it!! Try the brew pub too!
I honestly can't say enough good things about this hotel! Super clean, and the staff was very nice. I love the room we had. It's maybe 5 minutes away from Deadwood. All the victorian decorations they has were beautiful! And it was very quiet.
I rarely write reviews but this time i felt like I had to. We found this place looking on Google maps for the cheapest hotel and the town hall inn came up. We were surprised to find a very charming hotel, perfectly clean, and that immetsedy us into the city history and culture. The hosts are very welcoming and passionate about every detail of their business, even the bedside books are carefully chosen to reflect the history of the place. We had the best night of our road trip from Louisiana, thanks to the quality of the memory foam mattress and the softness of the bed linen. The basement user to be the jail, now turned into a brewery serving the best Belgium beers we had in a long time (being from France, that means a lot)! I definitely recommend this charming, comfortable and friendly place!…
The staff and the rooms are both charming. We stayed in the Judges Quarters... really enjoyed it. Comfy, clean, quiet and a nice view of main street. The Jailhouse Taproom was a great place for cold brew after exploring the area. The staff is very sweet and they keep the hotel in great shape. Enjoy!
Cozy inn with very friendly hosts and staff. Easy communication. Beautifully renovated and very clean. Great location and exceptionally quiet. Fun taproom in the former jail downstairs ! Highly recommend - we will be back !
I loved this place. It's a charming, old-time inn with an old-time feel, in an old-time town. It was clean, comfortable, cozy, homey, and very quiet! We stayed in the Engineer's Room, which had plenty of space and two comfortable queen beds. The bathroom was clean and adequate. Enjoyed coffee and pastries in the old-time lobby while chatting with other guests. Mark, the owner, was very accommodating and Sue, the housekeeper, is a hoot! Very friendly folks. It's location is convenient to Deadwood and the rest of the Black Hills. I would definitely stay here again.
