We stayed in a 30 ft Motorhome and we were told we reserved the very last spot when we called to book it. The site and several around us were standing completely in about 8 inches of water and smelled horrible. Mosquitos were terrible and we could not get out of the motorhome without walking in water and ruining our... More

Mount Rushmore was a key place planned on our road trip in the RV, and this KOA campground was ideal. It is a large site and obviously caters for family holidays with many features. Nevertheless, there are many quiet places to retreat to if you are of the older generation. The KOA provides a shuttle bus to Mount Rushmore for... More

This KOA has a resort like atmosphere with tons to do for kids and adults. We stayed in the deluxe cabin with 5 of us and it worked great. Lovely deck, grill, and fire pit. Plus it has a kitchenette. The pancake breakfast is a great easy option. The only negative was the non existent wi-fi which made it difficult... More

Amenities are awesome, considering this is a "camping" property. Tons for kids to do on property. Very close to Mt. Rushmore, Custer park and Hill City for supplies (nice grocery story in town with gluten free items available). You may want to call about your cabin to make sure you know what you're getting. Wide variety of options. We had... More

We had a great stay in the lodge. We had 2 girls 11yrs old and they loved all the activities they offered. Great central location to alot of the other places we visited. Only negative thing is i wish they would have had mini refrigerator in the room.

We stayed at this KOA for 2 nights while on vacation. After arrival, we were escorted to our site. Much to our dismay, the entire site was covered with standing water, and some of it smelled like raw sewage. I was disappointed, as we had been in the car for 11 hours, much of the time driving through the mountains.... More

As we're driving around the United States with our camper and pup, we went to this KOA. It definitely was a cut above other KOAs and centrally located between Mount Rushmore area and Custer State Park. This was the third time we've stayed there, the first without kids. All experiences were great! They have very well maintained bathroom/shower facilities, clean... More

We reserved our spot in advance and had no issues with the check-in or back-in processes. Although the person who checked us in highlighted where we could find wi-fi hot spots around the park, we were actually able to get a decent signal from our site with no real issues. Because we came prior to peak season, we did not... More

We just came back from a week long stay at Palmer Gulch. The front desk staff were the friendliest camp staff I have seen. They were very helpful in moving us to a different site due to some mud from the rain. We were in site 639 and in my opinion, it was the best site on the grounds. It... More

My family meets here every year for a reunion. It seems to go down hill a little each year. It's nice to have the pool etc.... But if u are going to charge $60 plus per night for an rv site, at least put some gravel down so people aren't having to slop around in mud when it rains. I... More
