Cabin layout where I stayed was a semicircle of cabins, the spot closest to the main highway. My cabin, 91, I believe, was the closest cabin to the car path on the grounds. It was noisy in the morning, more than what I anticipated, none the less the campgrounds are vast and beautiful. One has the option to walk, ride...

The Rafter J Campground is easily accessed from a main thoroughfare, yet is far enough removed to be quiet and away from the highway. It's a large, well maintained property with reasonable separation between individual camp sites. Certain of the camping loops are more suited to motorhomes, while others meet the needs of either smaller or larger towable rigs. There...

We are adventuresome "old people" in our middle 50's who dared to tent camp at this site a week or so ago. Friendly owners. Nice site close to the showers/restrooms. Well kept lawn. Not a single bad thing ( other than our air mattress issues which certainly weren't their fault! Close to Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Devils...

We stayed at this park in late September with another couple in two motorhomes. We were very impressed at the size and beauty of the park. We were disappointed at the high price and lack of common ammenities for a park of this caliber. There was no cable TV, Very poor Wi-Fi, and zero security. I would not stay here...

We stayed in one of the small cabins (no bathroom/kitchen) for 3 nights. It was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, the main bathroom facilities were spotless, the pool and hot tub were amazing. We loved the pancake breakfast. The setting is gorgeous and close to all of the main tourist attractions. We will definitely book here again if...

Rafter J is perfectly situated to serve as a base for visiting all of the major sites in the Black Hills area. Very handy to Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Hwy., Iron Mtn. Road, Wildlife Loop and easy for day trips to Deadwood, Sturgis, Keystone (don't waste your time going there), and of course Hill City. Lovely setting with scenic views....

My son and I rented a cabin, and two other family member brought their campers, was a very nice campground. Pool and hot tub were warm and nice. Skip the all-you-can-eat pancakes in the morning, not so good. Family reported the showers/bathrooms were clean.

This place had some really nice sites, ours was level and plenty of good views. I was not impressed with some of the "amenities" though. The internet was not working for our 3 day stay. Not too big a deal, but when you pay $55 a night and don't even have cable, you expect something right? The "island" where we...

We stayed here for 5 nights in a 40 ft Class A motorhome and were very pleased. This was one of many RV resorts we have stayed at during a 6 month trip and one of the best. It was a very beautiful setting with wide sites. We stayed in base camp and had full hook ups and good satellite...

I searched for an RV site for 4-5 nights while exploring the Black Hills. Narrowed it down to 4-5 and finally picked this one. WOW. Upon arrival it was top notch treatment. The views from your site—stupendous!! Only 2 miles outside Hill City on a main road. Plus it has Verizon 4G available. Ice was only $2 for 8#. I...
