This is one of the best Casino in Historic Deadwood SD. It is located at the South end of main street. If there is any concert going on across the street at the Deadwood Grand parking is a little hard to find.

My wife and I stayed two nights at The Franklin Hotel. The rooms are old and the doors are not the most secure, but this is the third time we have stayed there. It is historic and original, the beds were good as were the towels. The bathroom is small, no coffee in the room. It can be had in...

Be aware that if there is an event going on in Deadwood the rooms will be overpriced regardless of whether or not you are there for that event or are even aware of an event. Turns out that Room 218 - Potato Creek Johnny - is worth $79.00 on a regular weekend and $150.00 during an event weekend. This is...

We have stayed here many times while in the area visiting relatives and would not want to stay anywhere else! We love the fact that it is truly historic, with the rooms realistically the way they were in the early 20 th century. One of our favorite parts of this hotel is the elegance of the restored lobby and main...

Beautiful new restaurant located downstairs of the Franklin Hotel. If you have memories of the old Dirty Nellies you will soon forget once you see the upscale decor. I ordered the New York strip which was excellent, but others in our party had the sirloin which wasnt as good. If you plan on dining in a large group they cannot...

Stayed here for 2 Nights during Deadwood Jam In Sept 2014. Had a Main Street side room. Very noisy. This hotel needs to update for the price they charge. Ate in the New Steak House downstairs, New York Strip Steak was EXCELLENT, service a bit slow, but will improve over time i would hope.

My wife and I stopped in the Franklin to try the new resturant. It was obvious there are a few bugs to work out and they were short staffed. However the food was very good and the place is very classy!

So we booked a table for the newly opened Legends Restaurant downstairs. We ordered four drinks, one being a pint of Guinness. We were given half a pint as it had not settled and was half froth, told bar an to fill once settled, 3/4 filled ( because batman could not pull a pint and wasted so much) the Guinness...

We stayed here while traveling in SD, the day we visited Deadwood, it was in the middle of a day of raining non stop, ALL DAY. The lobby, and other hotel areas are beautiful and still decorated in their historic time frame. I love stuff like that! We stayed in the "Potato Creek Johnny" room, a corner room on the...

I stayed in this historic hotel in 1965, and in 1970 and once again in 1998. I love this hotel. I don't know if they still have the old elevator, but they did back in the day. The last stay I was sad to see slots in the lobby, but seems they have been moved out to perhaps the old...
