We drove from Indiana for a little getaway. We stayed at Hickoks Hotel and Gaming. The hotel is very quaint and nostalgic. As is the entire town of Deadwood. The rooms are old and single rooms are on the small side. But you're not going to be in the room anyway. There are also two and three bedroom suites. They...

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. Our building was constructed in 1896, and restored to it's present hotel use in 2007-10. The rooms do vary in size, but as you mentioned all are clean and comfortable. As a small business of 22 hotel rooms, our staff needs to perform many functions. On the other hand,...

We just spent 3 days here a few weeks ago and stayed in the front king room we have stayed in before. The beds are great with great pillows, everything in the room that you could ask for. The view is fun to watch at the top of the main street hill and it was always great to come back...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. Our location is enjoyed by many of our guests, we are right on Main Street overlooking the activities below. I am glad that you liked our "pie," as each one of our award winning pizza's are hand made. I will pass along your compliments to our staff, they work...

Hotel was old in age, but updated and pleasant. We had 2 adults and 4 kids so we were able to obtain a 2 bedroom suite for our one nite stay. Such a deal too! The front desk staff were so pleasant and accommodating, even at 11pm! Hotel location was convenient to all Deadwood attractions. Only downfall was parking was...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. I am glad we were able to accommodate your family in one of our two bedroom suites. They truly are the perfect option for larger parties, and, as you noted, a real value considering the number of guests they can sleep. While our hotel is "old in age," constructed...

We stayed at Hickok's in July this year. The building is old but the rooms have been updated especially the bath rooms. The décor is from the days gone by as it should be in that town. We had a Jr. suite that overlooked the street. The rooms are very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were current...

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. Our building was constructed in 1898, and renovated to it's present hotel use in the early 2000's. We were able to save many of the ornate Victorian features during the restoration, along with the Victorian decor. The roomy Junior Suites are some of my favorite rooms, overlooking Main Street....

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hickok. Clean, beautiful period rooms with a friendly staff. Fairly priced. Our room seemed to have some activity going on. Not alarming, just... interesting. Don't let that color your decision about staying here, it's a great place to stay!

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. You summed up in your review what we try to achieve everyday: clean beautiful period rooms with a friendly staff...fairly priced. Thank you for noticing. Now, on to the ghost! While I have not experienced any paranormal activity, occasionally a guest will mention something....interesting? We hope that you will...

My husband and I stayed at Hickok's during our summer vacation. We stayed for 1 night. The rooms were small (we stayed in a room with 1 king), but the bathrooms were surprisingly big. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The rooms were quiet from the casino below us. The staff was very friendly and helpful in allowing us to check-in...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. Our rooms vary in size due to the age of our building, but as you noted all should be clean, quiet, and well maintained. I will pass along your compliments to our staff....they work hard to ensure a quality experience in our historic hotel. If our rooms are clean,...

The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is full of character with lots of atmosphere. Our room was great and you felt like you were living in the olden days, with todays comforts. Although the hotel also has a casino area we were not disturbed by this at all. Being on Main Street meant we could...

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. I will pass along your compliments to our staff, they work hard to make our guests feel welcome. Located on the corner of the Main Street this hotel is in a good location. The reception staff did their job but were not overly welcoming. Thank you for your review, and for being our guest. I am glad you found your room to be clean and spacious, and that our location was superior. This hotel was so beautiful! The staff were wonderful and I love the decor. You felt like you were living in the movie Deadwood. They could use some more gaming, slots, etc, but other than that, I highly recommend it. It's such a pleasure to stay right downtown Deadwood!

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. The hotel was renovated in the mid 2000's and much care was taken to preserve and/or replicate the ornate Victorian features that the original 1898 structure contained.
