Medium of the road type place, older but clean, not much ammenities and breakfast offerings very meager at best. Towels were smallish and the TV remote was hard to work, Not overly impressed with the property and its location.
We arrived late and Mr. Patel took good care of us. We stayed 3 days. The room was extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. Has wifi, refrigerator, cable tv, and plenty of parking. It was a quiet area. Friendly staff. I recommend this place for a relaxing time.
Pulling up o the Rodeway Inn you can see the exterior has been neglected. Skipper was pleasant and the check in was smooth. We stayed in room 119 in the back. They do have solid security doors. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The rest of the room was notably old and in need of a refresh. We only stayed for one night so it served it's purpose.
This place is nasty, was built in 1960 (my guess) and the roaches have been there since 1962. They were huge! I saw one and immediately called the desk. As I was sitting down to call the desk I hit my head on a clothes rack. So as I'm bleeding trying to talk to the owner I decide my spur of the moment romantic getaway just exploded. So my girl and I leave! The carpet was so nasty I wouldn't walk on it without shoes on. I will sleep under a bridge before I ever go back there!
We booked one night, pre-backpacking trip on the Foothills Trail. Walhalla is a good jumping off point, and the Rodeway is the only game in town. We got room 104, near the office. Room appeared to have newer flooring; bedding was worn but appeared clean. Toilet seat was broken, but useable with care. Unfortunately, the room also came with two bold cockroaches. We reported it - nicely - and simply advised them they may want to deal with it asap. One night, our stuff was unpacked; they offered to move us and we declined. The manager (Mr. Patel) told us that he used Orkin, and would call them in the morning. We left early the next morning on our hike. Unfortunately, we had a minor medical issue two days in and had to get a shuttle out. At 8:30 pm we we're back in Walhalla, exhausted, hungry and hurting. I wanted to drive to Seneca but hubby convinced me to stop at the Rodeway and try another room. First, I requested the AAA rate and Mr Patel quoted me a rate of $71. Please note here that I worked at a Choice hotel - front desk - until hurricane damage closed one of properties. I know Choice; I am knowledgeable of systems and procedure. $71 can't be a AAA rate. I asked, "Is that with the AAA discount?" He said "yes". He said the regular rate was "much higher" (he later told me it was $119). I should have left then, but we were exhausted and hubby was begging me to just stay. We got room 103. Carpeted;clean; broken toilet seat; sink loose from the wall;beds hard. Long story a little less long: I confirmed with Choice reservations the next day that I did not get a discount. I also asked if the pest issue had been rectified. He told me yes, then said Orkin would actually be there that afternoon. (There are several pest control businesses in town; none are Orkin. Closest Orkin is about 90 minutes away). Then he told me he had just sprayed a can in there himself. So...which is it? Cockroaches, sketchy response to pests, definite dishonesty with AAA discount, and questionable truth on "regular rate" for that night (a search on ANY week, and even weekend days, show no rate higher than $94 - ever. The property needs maintenance, I have no confidence in his health condition priorities, nor his honesty. Go elsewhere.…
A little doubtful when I first saw the motel. Asked to see the room and was shown with a smile. Room was immediately attractive. Had really nice stay. Room was clean, comfortable, excellent wi fi, frig, tv and was quiet. Staff very helpful! Great value for the money and I would not hesitate to rebook.
The Roadway Inn hotel in Walhalla is a 2 star hotel. Furniture needs upgrade, bed uncomfortable, AC very noisy, refrigerator very noisy, no Wi-Fi or breakfast as advertised, single nightstand, no table in room and a big huge hole in driveway. The price is very reasonable, so you get what you pay for.
We stayed here for one night. Good value for money, friendly staff and the room was clean. Don't know if it's the air freshener or something else that they use to clean the rooms with, but the smell is very intense an both of us got really allergic. A little less air freshener and some upgrades and this will be up to the standards of a good motel. It has a quiet location and we were able sit outside i the garden.
We stayed here a few years ago and it wasn't a very good experience! We were hiking in the area and only needed it for one night so I gave in, and decided to try it one more time. Glad I did. Our room was in the back. The room was freshly painted, new windows and shower, carpet, linens, pillows, mattresses were comfortable, flat screen TV, coffee maker, small fridge. I serious improvement!! Nice family who own and operate the place. I didn't ask about the wifi. Don't judge by the outside. There aren't any other hotels in the area. We called to hold a room and then simply paid for it with our credit card when we arrived. no problems. If you are looking for a decent, inexpensive place to sleep, this is fine. if you need fancy; this is not for you.
Stayed in the backside room for one night. Hotel is old and need serious renovation. Not clean room! No good smell. Was really tired after a long motorcykle drive so we survived. Will never stay again. Cheap Price by the way, but still poor.
