This hotel is extremely dirty. They were blood stains on the sheet in my bed and after I took my socks off and walked around briefly in the room the bottoms of my feet were black with dirt. The hotel is very run down and it’s not worth $10 a night let alone $50 a night.

Where do I begin, it was rocky from the get go. Our check-in was supposed to be at 3 and we didn't get in our room until about 3:45. We were told that the cleaning staff just got to our room at 3. The hotel was pet friendly so there wasn't any carpet in the rooms, which I get but there was sand on the floors. We only had 2 bath towels, a couple wash cloths, and a floor towel. No dish rags. There was 3 large plates and two had stains on them, no forks, and the silverware holder was filthy. I seen dog turds on the stairs and also a pickle for 2 days. The key card to our room stopped working after we rushed to get my son up to the room because he was about to pee himself after swimming in the pool. My spouse had to rush to the first floor to get it reactivated and as the lady was doing it some guy interrupted her because supposedly the staff is supposed to look at the departure date first before helping someone get their key card working. We didn't get any room service the whole time I was there. We didn't have any sort of do no disturb sign what so ever so that wasn't the excuse I couldn't get trash bags, my linens changed or fresh towels. I had my son go ask for 5 towels but when he asked, someone said they thought they already gave him towels that morning and told him they didn't have any. So he came back empty handed!! Why is it so difficult to get a bath towel for each person in our party and one more to go on the nasty floor? What's the problem?? The front desk staff wasn't very friendly and the pools weren't the cleanest. The beds were decent, maybe a little on the firm side. The beach view was nice though. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I deserve my money back for my stay. We will not be returning. 👎

We booked this hotel based on all of the positive reviews we saw, and to our surprise, it was not what we expected. The rooms were not updated. 10 layers of paint coated everything from the ceilings and walls. The room was not clean. There was sand stuck on the walls of the balcony, and trash behind the bed frames. There was 1 trash can in the room. The door did not shut unless it was pulled shut. The toilet screws were rusty. We found black, orange and other color stains on our bath towels and bedding, as well as cigarette burns on the sheets. The vending machines were empty. The pools were not cleaned daily and the pool deck had ants due sticky spills not cleaned up. The plastic patio furniture was dirty and stained. We were very disappointed for a $1000 3 night stay.

The lobby looks pretty good, but once you step through the main doors, it all goes downhill. There are signs that masks are required due to COVID-19. There was one staff member wearing a mask, but the clerk who replaced her didn’t wear one. The policy was not enforced for the guests, either, and most were massless. At check-in, I was slipped a folded sheet of paper with my card keys. No explanation at all. Back to that in a second... There were signed posted everywhere asking for everyone’s patience for lack of service because the hotel was understaffed. I walked into the room, and it smelled. My feet stuck to the floor. There was no clean smell like you would normally get at a decent hotel. The room had a stove/oven, and I discovered the oven and one burner were still on. Fire hazard, and apparently the staff weren’t very diligent about inspecting the room when they (supposedly) cleaned it. The dresser had a sheet of paper on it, which turned out to be the previous guest’s hotel check in or check out information, name and address and phone and partial financial information. This should have been found and properly disposed of when the room was (supposedly) being cleaned. Then I read the slip of paper that was handed to me at the front desk. (I’ll attach a photo.) It basically instructed the guests, before checking out, to gather all bath towels (and washcloths) and store them under the vanity . Also, all trash in the room had to be placed in the trash cans that were sitting in the hallway on all the floors (along with the cleaning cars just left there). It said this was because of COVID-19. If guests didn’t follow these instructions, they would be charged $50.00. I’d been traveling for weeks, and none of the hotels I stayed in had any issues with towels and trash relating to COVID. So it seems that the staff just wanted the guests to do their work for them. Also, following their logic, shouldn’t the sheets be stripped off the beds and stored under the vanity as well? I went to the front desk and asked the clerk, who wasn’t wearing a mask despite all their concern for COVID, about the check-out policy and the sheets, and she seemed completely surprised by the paper, BUT she didn’t say anything about NOT following the instructions. I asked her about the sheets, too, and she looked at me like I was crazy, then gave some ridiculous reason about how it’s different for sheets than bath towels. Again, no other hotel I’ve ever stayed in had this sort of policy. I also told the clerk about the over and stove being on, and there was not concern about that, either. It is more than reasonable to assume they aren’t cleaning the rooms. Another example: the toilet had very obviously not been touched for a long time. I went back upstairs, got my stuff , made sure to take a video of the room before leaving to prove everything was where it should be so they wouldn’t charge me that extra $50.00. I checked out, and the non-mask-wearing clerk seemed put out that I didn’t like the room. Otherwise, unconcerned. I will do everything I can to get a refund. I was supposed to be there for three nights, couldn’t even stay the one. Had to make reservations at another hotel, and I actually had a very pleasant stay with friendly staff and clean accommodations.

Arriving on a Tuesday Night and never been to Myrtle Beach it was hard to choose a motel while on a budget. After an extended period of "reviewing' online motels we "throw the book in" and decide to drive and look. After 3 stops prior we end up at Tropical Seas. The main reason I chose to stay was due to the Front desk employee. Ashley. She was so kind she kept a smile on her face the entire time we were there. Probably one of the kindest person I have ever met. Room was good. It is an older motel but does have new floors ..new bedding. New chair...Room had no odors. It was clean. Our room was oceanview. Housekeepers very nice and attentive. We never had any noise issues. Very Happy we stayed here and yes we will stay again.
