I called the hotel The day before we were to check in because I felt some angst about the room the app chose for us. Lucky for me I was connected to Christy the night auditor who sensed my anxiety at 2:30 in the morning and offered to help me choose the best room for us. I could not have chosen a better room on my own than number 633 with an amazing full on view of the ocean. My husband and I sat for hours on a private balcony and watched the waves and white caps sunrise sunset families surfers helicopter riders up ahead. We did not find the planes or helicopters as particularly bothersome in the least. We took a walk along the sandy beach and the long newly renovated pier without experiencing any overcrowding. Handicapped parking was located conveniently on ground level close to the elevator. When housekeeping forgot to clean our room as requested Jessica was quick to respond, apologized for the oversight and refunded our parking fees. Our beds were comfy and clean towels were delivered promptly as requested. This was our first trip together anywhere in years. We had to cancel our would be first cruise together in 2020 due to the pandemic. It would have been our 25th anniversary in 2020. Fast forward. Our first time visit to Myrtle Beach helped us forget our disappointment of 2020. We had an amazing time in Myrtle Beach and will plan to visit again.…
I was a bit concerned about staying here after reading several of the negative reviews. Thankfully, we experienced the total opposite. We stayed in the Palmetto building. The rooms were roomy, comfortable and clean. We had a nice ocean view room. The breakfast menu is small but the food was prepared very nicely. We received excellent service from the staff. Thank you Jessie, Bee, Shane, Brian & Tammy for making our stay so much better. The front desk staff were all very friendly and polite. There are several pools, all very nice and clean. We had no issues with beach or pool towels. There were always available. The beach is just a short walk away and with easy access. Some of the reviews mentioned the planes going by. But, actually we found it quite cool to see how close they flew over us. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and I'm glad we didn't listen to the negative reviews. Will definitely stay here again.…
I never write these reviews but this property needs one for what people are paying to stay at this "resort". I saw on their website that the rate is $583.00 for tonight--don't pay this! Full disclosure, I stayed here through Hilton Grand Vacations so I guess I got what I paid for but not what other people are paying for! Positives: Beachfront.Staff is terrific! Restaurant is great! Negatives: No security--external corridors--not a hotel more of a motel; Anyone can access floors no security whatsoever unless you need ice....for that you need a room key. This matters to me because as a single mother I would have been terrified to stay alone in a motel when my daughter was little which is why I always stayed in hotels . Dirty rooms and elevators; Stairways and corridors are dark and dirty; Worth mentioning: No free parking (I should have asked); Airport across the street, planes flying over all day when you are relaxing on beach..some may like that; Everything except the lobby needs renovations; If you need/have a sunshelter--it may not be allowed on the beach--check before you buy or pack one--you can rent chairs and umbrella for $40 from 9-4; I am a Hilton Diamond Member and this property has left me very disappointed.…
Not sure what reviews I read that encouraged me to book this hotel I mean "resort" The grounds are pretty and the beach is great. The room is the smallest hotel room ever. The bathroom sink is in the bedroom. The pools look nice but the lazy river is kinda boring. Would definitely never stay here again.
I had to upgrade my room because the room was extremely small. After paying the extra money for the upgrade, the whole room was dirty. There was sand inside the sheets on the bed, what was worse was when I pulled out the sofa bed the mattress had blood and bodily fluids on it, it was very unsanitary. The kids didn't want to stay in the pool for long because it was small, I wanted to make coffee but the maker was disgusting. After spending so much time changing rooms I was too tired to go back to the desk to complain. I tried calling the desk several times but no answer, I wouldn't have minded the place but there was too much wrong, and it was really expensive and I honestly think that it wouldn't have helped. Lastly, the location was far from everything. Hilton has really gone downhill. Never staying there again. …
Our first night here and to be honest, I've stayed in better budget hotels. 3 stars is generous. We are here on a "deal" where another company want to sell us a vacation time share. However we got hit with an extra, almost $300 in taxes and "resort fees". They've kind of lost my business already and we don't have our tour till tomorrow! We did NOT choose this hotel. The timeshare people did. And they'll hear about it tomorrow! The room is decorated nicely but there's definite wear and tear. The shower seems dirty and has some mold. Yes, it's an ocean front hotel but to call it a resort? Nah. Hotel is a stretch too. We have a tiny fridge and microwave and a coffee maker. Eh. Whatever. That's standard. There are a few buildings here. We're in a room in a separate building that's quite a hike to the front desk which is in another building so if we need anything, we can't just run down to the lobby and pick it up. I guess there's always the phone. I've seen a couple bugs but that's probably just outside stuff as all doors are on the outside. At least in this building they are. Isn't that a motel not a hotel thing? We were napping this afternoon and someone was trying to open the adjoining door to the next room. I called the front desk and they did say they would call the neighbors and ask them not to do that. Probably kids. We are in the direct flight path of the Myrtle Beach International Airport. They take off practically right over our heads. Yes, they're loud. And to our left, there's a helicopter ride attraction which also takes off pretty much right over the hotel. While I enjoy watching planes and helicopters take off and land, it can get a bit on one's nerves with something flying over every 10 minutes or so. So that's my initial assessment of this place. Oh... parking is pretty bad too, especially if you're out in the evening and come back a little late. Others seem to like this place as it has a 4 star rating. Everyone is extremely nice though. It's that southern charm I guess. They'd have to razzle-dazzle me to get a different opinion. …
We really enjoyed our time at Double Tree. We spent a 4 day weekend there to celebrate our twin boys 14th birthday. The room was pet friendly, as we travel with our 3-year-old Boxer, and it was very clean. Beds were super comfy. You can't go wrong with any room as all seem to have a nice view. Even ours on the first floor was great! All the staff we dealt with were cordial and professional. We had one meal at the restaurant on site and we thought the food was good. We loved the green space in between the buildings. Even though the whole complex is large, it felt very homey and relaxing. We will definitely be coming back here!
Lets start with the fact I haven't visited Myrtle Beach in 20 years. I was excited to visit. We always stay at Hilton for all our travels and my husbands work trips. I really have enjoyed how clean Home to Suites are and the Double Tree in Orlando Sea World location for cleanliness. I read reviews after we booked at this location and decided to give it a shot. We stayed June 4th and left early June 8th due to the experience. We booked a handicap corner room with balcony only because of the space and a family of 4. We thought it would be a nice upgrade and get a better experience. Walking into the room we found nasty carpet, moldy shower curtain and pealing paint in bathroom. After requesting a new shower curtain the same day and not receiving one by evening the next day I took it down to the front desk myself. We then received a replacement the following evening. So yes we showered without a curtain. The lazy river area is dirty and tired. We found the newer building and lobby is what the property should have reflected , but lacked the luster. This location is like our experience in Daytona not good. Two resort style hotels we paid top dollar for and wont be back.…
I will say, the beach and location to the beach is perfect; other than the fact that you have to rent the beach chairs. The first disappointment of the stay was paying extra on Priceline for an “oceanfront view” with photos of a direct oceanfront view from a balcony. Upon check in my partner and I were informed that it was a “partial ocean view,” and that we’d have to pay even more to legitimately get the direct view of the ocean. We agreed, that’s what we were there for. The worst part of the stay? Waking up after the first night and finding what appeared to be rodent feces on the carpet. The stay only got better when the women at the desk said maybe it was from a dog from a previous guest (as if that’s still acceptable), and she’ll just get housekeeping to clean it when we step out. We understandably wanted a different room, the fecal matter was not there when we arrived, I’d say thats pretty concerning. We get downgraded from a king sized bed to a queen and only get our “hotel fees” removed, still paying over 1k for 3 nights of an outdated “resort” that had literal crap on the stained carpet and cigarette butts on the balcony. There’s plenty of options on Myrtle Beach, it’d highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.…
Poor quality for a Hilton property. When we arrived, no indication of where to check-in…frustrating after a 5 hour drive. No help to be found anywhere. All the glass and mirrors in the room were cleaned with a dirty rag….streaks on everything…you could write messages on them. You could tell there were children there previously….cookies and crumbs in the ice bucket. The bathroom was ridiculous…you have to step in and close the door to get to the sink behind the door. There were cracks in the floor tiles and around the tub. The carpet was filthy and had an odor. The sofa looked like it was picked up from a curb…sitting in the middle sank you way down. The pools were dirty (and there is no jacuzzi). The property is in desperate need of renovations!!!!! Very disappointed 😩 Not worth the cost.…
