Below is the picture of the mattress. I didn't see this until I stripped the bed for checkout. I sprayed the sheets and blanket and pillows with disinfectant thank goodness. This mattress should be replaced not just covered up. This is more than a water stain. There was also a stain on the top that is pulled back.
For safety reasons, there should be a rug on the floor since the floor is not carpeted. The floor is very very slippery when wet. The floor of the balcony needs a rug or new covering. I bought socks to walk around in and put a couple towels down to create a runner on the floor. Probably would be helpful to have a broom and dustpan to clean the floors after the beach since housekeeping does not come in daily.
Quite a few of the tv channels were not working. It was nice to have a fridge, microwave and safe in the room. Breakfast buffet was ok but no no pork options for meat. Omelet and waffle guy was good. The shields should be lowered on the food and not everything was covered....fruit, shredded cheese, danishes. Gloves are required for touching of the spoons but no enforcement of masks while at the buffet.
There was no wiping down of the arcade games.
Some of the whirlpools were not working properly. The pools could use some caulking or something to seal cracks along the inside edge of the pool and a good bleaching.
The location was not far from the places we wanted to go to even though it was the southern most part of Myrtle Beach. It was ok. I wouldn't want to pay a lot to stay here but it has pools and slides and good beach access.
They need to get new mattress not just flip it over.

I stayed here last year in a preferred room and this year I was only able to book a nonpreferred queen efficiency room due to vacancy so I was on the 2nd floor, it still had great views of the ocean it was just a little noisy from pool area during the day. We wanted a room higher up but the big pro to getting a second floor was being able to use the stairs! We didn’t use the elevators too much but they were understandably slow at times due to so many floors.
The nonpreffered room itself was very clean and I was satisfied with that, housekeeping always delivered towels and came and got our bagged used towels and trash when we called and requested it. I saw employees working hard cleaning rooms, painting some areas of railing, and even had someone wiping the stairwell area with disinfectant wipes! The only issues I had with the room was the furniture had some minor damages like a cracked bed frame and a hole in the drawer of the table, it wasn’t a deal breaker or anything but considering I paid for a 40$ protection plan so I wouldn’t have a 200$ security hold I wasn’t impressed with the condition of the furniture of the non preferred room. Our 7&8 year old kids love the many pools and water slides and that’s one of the main reasons we come back, there’s so much for the kids. We ordered a to-go pizza one night from loco geko and it was delicious and so much easier than trying to order from local delivery. Downwind sails was right beside the hotel so me and my family were able to choose to ride a banana boat on the ocean without hassle or booking ahead of time.
Overall I really like this hotel, I was apprehensive when I was reading bad reviews but the employees really are doing their best to keep everything clean and maintained and we ended up really enjoying our stay. Will will definitely consider coming back.

Check-in was easy. Andrea was very friendly, and even gave us some comps for the arcade and moved us to a top floor with a great view. Our room was clean and had all the necessary towels and linens. No housekeeping but we knew that beforehand. When we needed something, we just called for and it was delivered. Trash was left outside your door and picked up promptly. No issues. Room itself was smaller, more like a large hotel room/suite than a condo, but quite functional for our family of 5. We had 2 queen beds in the bedroom, a sofabed and a murphy bed in the living area. Small but functional kitchenette with full size fridge, stove/oven, sink. Had pots/pans and dishes, glasses, and silverware. This isn't a luxury condo, but it had everything we needed. If you are looking 5 star luxury, concierge service, top of the line amenities, immaculately clean and valet parking, this is not the place for you. But it's great for families with kids looking to have fun at the beach and pools. The pools are very nice, one is heated, even in July, and the water temp in all of them was nice and comfortable, and they were clean. There really are no rules, people were allowed to eat/drink in the pool, but surprising everyone was very careful and respectful and nothing was spilled. The pool area/decks need a bit of a face lift, they are a bit dated in areas and have some spots of peeling paint. Nothing major and certainly nothing to stop us from having tons of fun! The hotel is a great location, we just walked out of the hotel and onto the beach. We had ocean view room, and the view was fantastic! We did eat at the restaurant, it was very crowded and understaffed. The pizza was pretty good, but our waitress seemed to not want to be there, the manager had to tell her she had to finish her shift or something like that. She seemed to want to leave. Overall, I would recommend this place for families wanting to spend time at the beach and pools. We had fun on our first trip to Myrtle Beach!

Most Kid Friendly Resort in Myrtle Beach. This Resort has been the center of our family vacations for over 10 years. Our family enjoys our time spent at the resort every year. Great hotel to stay at. It was way to hot to do much around myrtle beach with small children, and trying to avoid the harsh sun and getting burnt. We stay 85% of the time at the hotel and our 2 kids werent ever bored. There was plenty of shaded pools/hot tubs to enjoy until the sun passed the hotel and shaded them all. Pools are open until 11pm. The staff was exceptional, they were always cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched areas. One staff member stuck the most JORDAN, he went above and beyond. He was never to busy to stop what he was doing to help with something or answer questions. Even through his mask you could tell he had a smile and was eager to assist. All around this hotel was just absolutely amazing. My husband and I feel this is our hotel for all future trips, no need to search for another one. Cant wait to come back in October!

horrible, nasty and waste of money. I made reservations on the phone and that gentleman was very nice but after that all down hill. You have to check in across the street, which I knew, parking is $10 a day and you have to pay it because no where else can you park, rip off, elevators are so busy make sure you leave 10 to 15 min before you need too. Waited 20 minutes to get an elevator when checking out. Room was nasty, stains on pillows and sheets, bathroom had hairs on sink, toilet and bathtub. Floor was dirty no more white socks the bottoms was brown. Door was hard to open. Mold on a/c unit. Paint on sink and toilet. Furniture was in bad shape. Railing on balcony was not painted and showed 2 different colors.. Pool was over crowded. No social distancing anywhere. The smell of pot was everywhere. Wake up to it and go to sleep to the smell. Very noisy. Housekeeping came to room 2 different times before check out wanting us out of room so they could clean it. The 2nd time I got rude with them and called front desk to get oh I'll let manager know...ok thanks...trash everywhere. The only good thing was the bar. Drinks was good. I'll spend my money somewhere else next time. Quality Inns are nicer. Dont waste your money if you want a clean nice room. Old just old and ran down. If you don't care about that and just want the Waterpark then this place would be for you.

This is a nice hotel, however they have a serious roach problem to where we had to be moved rooms the first night here. When they moved us, they never went and checked the other room. They don’t care when you tell them that there are roaches they just brush it off. The furniture needs an update & they need to do more with the rooms instead of just essentials. I liked the whole feel of the hotel & how big their pools are and all but they seriously need to get right with the bugs. These roaches have been big and all running around in groups. Guests shouldn’t have to kill roaches that come into their room or go through all of their stuff when they get back from being out. Nice place but I don’t recommend unless you bring roach spray or something. (Third picture is after we squished it)

The variety of pools and hot tubs, 2 water slides, the beach, and the best lazy river in Myrtle Beach made for a terrific vacation! Resort staff made some efforts to wear masks (some correctly) and social distance and did this exceptionally well at the breakfast buffet, where all staff remained properly masked and served food from behind plexiglass barriers. Rooms were clean and employees wiped down frequently touched surfaces in public areas. We will be back but will try not to stay on the lobby level again since we could barely hear the ocean over the water pump noise from just below us.

The Crown Reef has many things to do: pools, hot tubs, lazy river, water slides, and beach. The staff is always friendly and polite. If you go make sure to visit the the breakfast buffet and get an omelette! The staff all wear masks and I can tell that they take cleaning and sanitizing seriously. During our stay we saw them cleaning on a regular basis. We love this hotel and have been going there for many years and we will continue to do so!

This is the NASTIEST “hotel” I have ever stayed. I felt like I was staying in the ghetto. I’m pretty sure my kids got high from the marijuana you could smell everywhere. There was inappropriate loud rap music blaring everywhere we went. The place was filthy...the rooms, the pools, the elevators, the hallways, etc... And as far as COVID goes, these people are doing nothing to keep their guests safe. I didn’t see anyone cleaning anything, there were no hand sanitizing stations, hardly anyone was wearing masks(including the staff), and they are clueless about enforcing social distancing. Our room was disgusting. We had to clean the floor and our feet before we got into bed. There was bird poop all over the balcony and the two chairs on the balcony. Does Myrtle Beach not inspect their hotels, because there is no way this one should be allowed to operate. If you call the front desk about an issue you will be treated rudely and will be ignored. They don’t care. I find it funny that there are so many bad reviews of this place and the “management” responds(lies)that they do everything they can to make the hotel nice...what a joke! Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here, unless you are used to living in filth. Wish I could give it a big fat ZERO!
