This is our 2nd stay at the Bay View Resort. We selected the one bedroom condo with full kitchen, this is an amazing option as it comes with a washer/dryer. The room was clean, bedding fresh and kitchen was immaculate. Carpeting in the room was pretty worn with lifting at the adjoining door and kitchen/livong space however this didnt affect our comfort.
The staff was friendly and helpful and always available if we needed anything. We love that there is a Starbucks downstairs and that the boardwalk is so easily accessible! I recommend getting the the beach early if you don't want to rent chairs as they do occupy the best spots however if your not against spending the extra it's was a good investment and saves on lugging beach chairs.
The location was close to the airport at 9 minutes, Walmart at 8 minutes and Broadway at the beach at 10 minutes. We had food delivered and it went very smoothly doors are key access so you do have to meet them at the drop off area. We didn't use the pool facilities however there were a few options lazy river, kiddie pool, hottub, larger pool and splash pad! This is one of our favorite family stay locations!

We took a quick get away, since we had quarantined for weeks. This hotel seemed to be what was looking for to accommodate the four of us. Well.......... once we arrived, everything looked nice on the outside and my daughter and her friend was impressed by the pool area. But when we went to the room, it smelled like dirty, wet, sour towels. The Master Bathroom had a handicap accessible shower, which had a fold down shower bench, it was rusted and the covering was peeling off, the furniture was dirty and smelly. I called the front desk and they moved us to the 2nd floor...... well...... the lid on the toilet in the main bathroom was broken, I walk outside and it was beer bottles, cigarettes, and ashes and snuff or dip in a cup. And the fridge door was beaten up. I call once again. I think she was the manager(not sure), but she was very sweet and apologetic, as well as the first lady I spoke to. She gave us a free upgrade to a 3 bedroom. This room was beautiful with a beautiful view. However the sheets was dirty on two of the beds. Front desk handled that immediately. Then, after a day of moving rooms, our last day, the door would not open, my daughter had to stay in a wet swim suit for an hour and half. Front desk and Maintenance was on point. Everything was handled professionally and prompt. With all that’s going on, I personally feel the furniture need a deep cleaning or replaced. Not sure if the corona had anything to do to with possibly short staffed housekeeping, but that could have been better.

We are very disappointed on our annual girls weekend beach trip to this hotel. In the beginning the hotel told us we could go to the sister hotels and use the pools and other amenities before we booked this hotel, we called and asked. We even asked during checking in and they gave us a paper with all the different hotels and told us we could go to them to swim, eat, and enjoy the other amenities at their sister hotels. Again, that is the main reason for staying for the amenities. It is not fair that we share the same parking garage as the sister hotel and can use their bar and restaurant but not share the amenities!!!!This is the whole reason for booking with this hotel to be able to enjoy the amenities at this time of year. When going to the sister hotels pools my daughter and niece got kicked out because we stayed at the sister hotel right next door they told us we could spend our money all we wanted at they’re restaurant and bar but can’t swim. Even though they originally said we could swim there and we even share the same parking area! They were very rude to them when telling them to leave saying they didn’t belong there and to go back to the hotel to the hotel they’re staying at and kept repeating it and trying to shoo them out the door they’re we’re so embarrassed and everyone was looking at them because the pool attendant turned it into a scene when they just wanted to go to the sisters hot tub they were told we could go to cause ours wasn’t hot, matter of fact it wasn’t even warm. The hot tub that the bay view was the same temperature as the pool it was not hot at all. Room service is lousy they still haven’t brought us the trash bags we’ve asked for multiple times in the past two days, and wouldn’t change the sheets on our beds or clean our room they just handed us our sheets and left. Housekeeping is not very accommodating and vey resident to clean. They’re house keeping carts look nasty and have spills and stains on them. If we needed anything like towels, pillows, or sheets we had to walk down to the lobby they would not bring us anything. There is also a wooden ramp in front of our balcony door That is sealed poorly that we keep getting splinters on. We did not spend this much money for this!! Never staying again!

We've stayed several times at this hotel and it's always been very pleasant. We were there on 6/12-6/14 and it was horrible. The smell of marijuana would make your eyes burn. The whole hotel stunk. Our room when we arrived smelled fresh,but it was the cleaner smell,after a few hours that went away and the room smelled like pot. We opened the sliding glass doors and that didn't help because the room below us were smoking on the balcony. I contacted the front desk and was told oh sorry,and that they'd check into it...nothing except I did notice that a short time later someone came to our hallway and sprayed a ton of air freshener trying to cover the smell. We paid over $775 for 2 nights and had to come home and wash everything and leave our luggage outside to try and get the odor out. For the experience we had we are going to say that this will be our last time at this location. Yes things were tidy but I felt like the hotel didn't care about the rampant drug activity on their property. They had people in security uniforms however I never saw them anywhere other than outside or in the area around the pool. I know they can't patrol every room but when someone says the room beside or below them is smoking weed they should at least check it out. And when someone stands beside you and the stench of weed is overpowering maybe they should be asked to leave the property.

I will start off with the good. The location is great and the grounds are nicely manicured, right on the boardwalk. Any of the staff I came in contact with were very friendly.
Now, the first morning when we went to take a shower, the shower knob fell off. We notified housekeeping that was just next door who said that she had notified maintenance.... never saw them, so we dealt with it for the entire trip. I would make a suggestion that if you are going to allow smoking on your balconies, there should be ash trays in place. This may have prevented the pot ashes from falling on my head on my balcony, and the cigarette butts from landing on people on the splash pad below. I was unable to sit on my balcony without the continual smell of marijuana. One thing to note, the standard room (2 full beds) is tiny, but it connecting to a room next door. If you spring breaking with some college buddies to party, for the price, this place will do you fine. I'm not sure that if I had children I would bring them here. I'll chalk this trip up to a lesson learned and stay further north next time.

The floors were dirty, there was what looked like pubic hair on the 1980s looking phone, hair on the bathroom floor, in the sink, and later discovered...on the pillows and bedding too. The room didn't smell like it had been cleaned at all. We had housekeeping come up to re-clean the tile floors (to remove dirt, bugs, hair). Only then did it smell like the room had been cleaned. The furniture is outdated and the light fixtures had layers of dust. Never have I ever not felt comfortable in a hotel room until this stay. The only reason we stayed even one night is because we were having trouble finding another hotel that had availability and didn't cost an arm and a leg. And we weren't sure we would be able to cancel and get a refund for the other nights. The oceanfront room we stayed in had a great view. The balcony furniture was cheap lightweight uncomfortable chairs. (A decent inexpensive sturdy dining table and chairs would make a huge improvement.) I found the balcony floors to be a bit slippery too because of the tile. The hotel also had guests that were smoking cigarettes and weed near us that came into our room. We told management but nothing seemed to happen to fix it. If all this doesn't give you reason to not stay here, the location will. The promenade had a good bit of crack or meth heads walking around. We even saw them doing deals...in daylight. And then the day after we checked in, my husband saw a group of people lighting up their crack in broad daylight, around families. This was probably around 11 am, right on the promenade between the hotel and the beach. Now, they didn't bother anyone, but this plus everything with the room is a big reason to reconsider your stay at Bay View. Across the street from the hotel/resort is the equivalent of a motel 6, so I would not recommend walking over to the garage (which is a block away) at night...or perhaps even alone? Lots of shady characters. Sadly we failed to do our full amount of research we usually do before booking a hotel, or we would of stayed farrrrrr away from this resort and this part of Myrtle in general (I now hear North Myrtle is the 'good' part). The only other positive is the Starbucks on the same property--just use mobile order ahead though or expect a long line. We booked through VRBO (which I would not recommend and never use again).

The website is very misleading. It looks tranquil, clean, and family friendly. The floor in our unit was sticky, the safe did not work, and the fully equipped kitchen had very few dishes and cookware. I would expect a full kitchen for a 4 bedroom unit to have more than a spatula and 1 pan. The area is insanely crowded, very loud, with lots of smoking going on in this nonsmoking hotel. Also the parking situation is awful. You pull into a tiny reception area that fits 6 cars to unload and then park 2 blocks away in a garage.
Most concerning was their lack of cleaning/masks/social distancing procedures during Covid-19. We never saw the common areas being wiped down and although we were told mask were required on common areas almost no one wore them. We did not feel very safe.
I would not recommend this hotel or stay here again.

We receive accolades for the extensive cleaning measures we take throughout the common areas of the resort in light of the pandemic. There is a consistent rotation of team members sanitizing and cleaning the resort. Although we cannot make guests social distance we encourage it every chance we get along with face coverings in the common areas. Our team members are committed to doing their part by also wearing masks while onsite. We are excited to share our newest update...we have gone smoke free. This includes the guest balconies. When you check in you sign a form stating you are not allowed to smoke in rooms. You have balconies off your room with sliding doors that shut to separate room from balcony. There was no signs or warnings that you could not smoke outside in balcony, There are no sticker in balcony door that says you cannot smoke outside in balcony. So if you decide to go outside on Balcony and smoke you will lose your Deposit, meanwhile other teenagers pourring water from water bottles and sodas off balconies from above to decks below and pool areas, Resort seams to be more about the money not the customer. Never again will I go there.Before you say I should not have smoked on balcony, most places consider balconies outdoors. I went outside across street and noticed alot of other people smoking on balconies of this Resort, pretty sure there were not penalized. In future trips to Myrtle Beach this place will not be on my list as a place that takes pride in customer service!!!

Any guests caught smoking, and/or throwing items off the balconies will forfeit the deposit. The night shift mantiance/valet crew was amazing, gave us a key to park before we checked in, blocked traffic so we could get the car backed up. I booked here 4 months after my birthday and they put my name on the front sign!! The rooms were clean and nice.We had a ocean front room with 2 full size beds. Front desk staff could have been a little less snoody and the elevators were slow but that's to be expected with tons of people using them.Located in a great area and within walking distance of all the attractions on the main strip.
