Stayed here in June, as a family vacation. We had 6 rooms booked and we booked early. 4 of our rooms were on the first floor with no view. 2 of the rooms had problems at check in and reservations were lost. The indoor pool and hot tub was closed for summer. Rooms were terrible outdated and not that clean. One of our rooms had roaches and they did come spray. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
So the first problem was with both rooms we booked, the phones didn't work at all. Secondly the room I was in the bathroom door would push in when I closed it. The TV worked but had alot of static on the screen. But other then those it was not decent nor was it terrible. Kind of just meh.
Absolute waste of money. Looked decent online, but when we checked in, we felt the need to sanitize ourselves immediately. There was one elevator where we stayed and stairs. The stairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Stains everywhere, gum spat on the floor. When we got to our room, we checked out the bathroom - which had no lock. Toilet paper was as thin as paper. Checked beds which had stains here and there including makeup staining. Sliding door had hand prints, finger prints from young ones and it had all kinds of dirt on it. The door to the stairs had to be pulled really hard. Didn't even spend the night at this place.
I am writing an honest review of the sea horn hotel. We stayed here 10 years ago and it was clean cute and the family that owned was kind. I read reviews before coming and kept telling myself maybe it’s not that bad. It honestly looked the same as when we stayed 10 years ago. Which yes it needs updated and some remodeling. I work in the hotel business, a private owned one also. Over 20 years experience. In myOpinion some tips are this. You need to make sure your rooms Are at least clean. When we arrived there was sand and Cheetos on the carpet. You need to at least clean the basic things. Vaccum the carpet is a basic. People can look past dust etc. the beds were clean however the sheet had a stain on the top. I’ve done housekeeping the sheets were clean but had a stain, maybe switch that part of the sheet to the bottom of bed. So it’s not so obvious. Someone who doesn’t know would think they were dirty. The bathroom floor needs a good scrubbing. At least once in a while. Our feet were black. There was an awful smell in the room. Could be carpet I’m not sure. Air out the room, maybe febreeze powder the carpet and then vacuum it up. Other things were clean satisfactory. The ac worked well! We were happy about that. The filters need cleaned though. Even once a month would be fine. Another thing is which I couldn’t understand is why not fix the obvious things that are broke. Fix the door. You can push up against it and it opens. Other guests showed us this and then we did it and our door did the same. That’sa big safety issue. It doesn’t take much to fix a door. Even fix the door handles on the balcony. All you need is a screwdriver. The screw just needs tightened. Sinks dripping is another basic that is an easy fix. The stairways had fruit loops all over the floor the whole stay. I get that you don’t want to vacuum everyday in the stairs. At least bend over and pick them up. Another thing you could do is set up some hand sanitizer machines around the hotel. Especially in that elevator and next to stairway doors. With some basic cleaning and some easy fix issues. This hotel could get much better reviews. Yes it’s old and needs updated however if it’s clean and safe, things not broke. Honestly the average person would be happy. All in all our stay was good. The pool was clean. The beach front access was awesome. Location you can’t beat. As someone that has worked in the hotel business many years I hope this helps. It’s not a bad review, just my opinion. Cleanliness, safety, things not broke is all the average person asks for. We may go back again. Our family did have a good vacation. Take care!…
It was absolutely disgusting! I could NOT even sit on the bed. The smell was horrible! We got an ocean front balcony but the deck had no chairs. Currently trying to get our money back! It looked as if it was built in the 1800’s with no updates. Ended up having to buy another room at a different Hotel. The rate of this motel I’d give a -10 easily.
