I review a lot on TA so not being overly critical. For what we paid, this so called resort in Myrtle Beach totally disappointed, especially for a Marriott. Here is my list of complaints: no housekeeping service the entire time unless requested ( I do understand that might be Covid related but probably just to save a few bucks and not giving folks some work who need a paycheck), they advertise multiple restaurants and all have the same menu, our first room had wet carpet, a glass of house wine was $18, and the mediocre breakfast buffet was almost $30 and no choice to order off a menu. The concierge, Jeanie, was helpful, and the pool was nice. I do NOT recommend

In adherence to Corporate guidelines, we are not entering guest rooms without permission from the guest. We are more than happy to clean the rooms daily, but given everything going on in the world and our guests very differing opinions, we feel this is the best way to accommodate everyone's wishes. My husband and I are Marriott Lifetime Titanium. The drive into the hotel property was promising with long driveway and lots of lush plantings. It went downhill from there. Of course the “suite nights” promo was a bust, nor did we get an upgraded oceanfront room. Our room looked down the coast, but was marred by the roof aircon constantly rumbling, drowning out the ocean waves. Other observations, dirty floor, dirty windows, dirty curtains. No terry robe, slippers, full length mirror. No waters in room. No tech charging ports. The menu is just about THE SAME at all three restaurants. Marginal food, expensive drinks. How this hotel pulls $500 per night, is beyond me. Many families were there - how do they afford such outrageous pricing???? Thumbs down from a staunch Marriott user how has loved the brand and been in soooo many beautiful Marriott properties. This was the worst ever. 4.5 stars??? Never.

My husband and I last stayed here in 2015 in October when it was off season, this time we stayed in mid June 2022, prime season. I would stay here again, but recognize that this is more like a 3-star hotel, I would never pay more than $300 / night, maybe $350 if I was desperate to get away. We were able to book a room in the $200's for a few nights so it was fine for that price, given that it was peak demand beach season. Pros: Beautiful beach and pool, staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were pleasant and hard working. Guests were there to enjoy the summer and polite and respectful with each other, so there was an overall positive mood. Cons: Very expensive food on site for what you get. Some hit and miss with the service. Example: There was a concierge sitting reading a paperback book. I approached her in the morning, she was not busy, and asked if she had any suggestions for dining near Tidewater, where we were golfing that day. She looked at me and said "I have no idea" and went back to her book. Seriously. I was taken aback, and said we're driving North, North Myrtle Beach - any suggestions? She dragged herself away from her novel, and managed to make a few suggestions but said she really wasn't familiar with the area. Tidewater is a premier golf course and well known in the area. I would have expected an answer more like "I don't know where that is, could you tell me which area of Myrtle Beach you're driving to?" The breakfast buffet is like a 3-star hotel - eggs, bacon/sausage, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal, etc., the omelette station was very good. We did the buffet because we received a discount with my elite Bonvoy status. I would not pay full price for it. Overall, I would stay here again but only at a certain price point. I would go to Hilton Head or Charleston if I wanted to pay more for a room.

Marriott Myrtle Beach was a great choice for a hotel. Location was away from the busy, crowded party atmosphere section of myrtle beach. You could walk to a few stores and restaurant but you really need a Uber or a car. There are restaurants on property. I went to the breakfast buffet it was 28.00 which I thought was reasonable and had a good selection, by the time you paid for an Uber and went to a local restaurant which still has same prices it comes out the same. I would fill up on breakfast then I was good until dinner. Our room was a semi ocean view, it was clean and bed was comfy. They do not do room cleaning everyday. You can ask for more towel and toilet paper. At front desk or at Oceans you can ask for bottle water. FYI the do sell Starbucks coffee but I preferred the free coffee at Oceans Restaurant that they put out every morning. The staff through out the hotel was very friendly and nice. Shout out to Maggie the pool wait staff she did a awesome job. Also Krista Ward (maybe a supervisor) who helped out other people in our group. We would definitely stay there again.

This is an average hotel with a premium price. For well over $500/night with taxes I was expecting more. Positives: friendly, attentive staff; fairly easy access to the beach; easy access to beach towels, delicious food (if you can afford it), 10-15min walk to supermarket and high quality restaurants. Negatives: dated room, extremely expensive food and drinks, poor water quality of pools and hot tub. The first night we hated our room - not clean, small cramped bathroom, and a live cockroach that I had to hunt down and kill so we could sleep that night. They offered a modest discount off that night but honestly it should have been free. The next day we moved floors to a much more comfortable room. If they didn't have that room available our vacation would have been a disaster. The issue is there really aren't nice hotels in the area so you have to just have realistic expectations. This Marriott is in a much better area compared to staying more south near the pier.

Called the hotel concierge a few days before check in to make golf tee time reservation. She said she will call back or email us the information. Never heard back. Then called the hotel on the day of check in to see. What time room will be ready, the first time the guy was not helpful at all. The second time I called, the lady on the phone said that the room is ready for us. Even took my name and reconfirmed then we arrived at the hotel and were told that the room is not ready . Early check in has been requested but the room isn’t ready. Until now my experience has been horrible !!

The staff here was really hit and miss because some of the concierge were friendly and accommodating and others were blatantly disrespectful and condescending. The only other pleasant staff were the valet, maids and staff member who came to set up the crib in our room. It is only because of the other polite staff members and comfortable beds that I am throwing in another star. The concierge we did have issues with would hand us bills with charges throughout our stay that we did not acquire and stated that we owed more than what was agreed-upon during check-in and we had to bring down several billing statements and have them corrected throughout our stay. They would promise certain discounts or deals for our rooms which toward the end of our stay another staff member would revoke by saying that the deal no longer applied even though it was agreed-upon when we checked in. They would then take off the charges for services or products we did not purchase or use and act like they were doing us a favor when in fact they should not have charged us for them in the first place. There were many loopholes to whatever discounts that they did offer later rendering them useless. On top of that some of the facilities including the hot tub was filthy, unkempt, and unusable. The breakfast was subpar with hardened or overcooked food which was disappointing considering the high price. Every time we would use the breakfast vouchers that we paid for, we would be over-charged automatically for things we never grabbed from the buffet and then told as a courtesy they wouldn’t charge us for the extra food (that we never took or ate). Thanks? Finally, there were live cockroaches in our room which for the high price of our stay and the constant overcharging seemed ridiculous to have to deal with.

My husband, son and myself stayed here earlier this month. Our room, the pool and beach area were perfect. We had a room with a balcony where we could see the ocean, I highly recommend this option. A bit of a walk to some restaurants, but a nice walk if you don't take the main road. There is a beach restaurant down about a mile, which is a great spot for lunch. The buffett breakfast is ok, the omelet station is great. They should change the buffett options up from day to day. Our server, Richie, was fabulous. A great way to start your day, he's friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure you have what you want. We will definitely go back here.

While the hotel was beautiful, there were a few things that were annoying, given that I am a Bonvoy member and the high price of this property. We stayed in a King ocean front room on the 14th floor. First of all, i had to double check and call the hotel ahead of time as it wasn't clear i was getting a higher floor. This was straightened out after a couple of phone calls. The rate did not include breakfast, however, if I had "downgraded" to a partial ocean view, breakfast would have been included. robes were supposed to be in my room. They were not. i didn't bother to follow up, as it gets annoying that you have to ask for so many things, such as getting fresh towels, as cleaning is only done on request. The coffee makers in the room come with very little supplies, so you have to ask daily. the coffee is not very good either, and when you don't have breakfast included, you need to make your own coffee. the water temperature in the shower was impossible to keep consistent. it would go very hot, and then very cold. this happened every day. we had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant, and Ishmeet was an amazing server. so friendly and courteous. i followed up with a personal email to his manager, but never got a response. Not even a "thank you". also, i noted that the corner rooms beside us which are also ocean front, same rate, were not occupied during my stay. it would have been nice to have been offered one of those rooms upon check in, as they have views on two sides. so it all sounds very negative, but the room was clean, and large. htoel in a good location.
