Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, featuring live DJs and music alongside renovated rooms that promise relaxation. While the resort's location earns high marks for its proximity to dining and activities, opinions on value are split due to parking challenges and unexpected fees. The hotel's amenities, including multiple pools and beach access, are generally appreciated, although some guests have encountered maintenance and Wi-Fi issues. Service quality has received both commendation for its friendliness and criticism for inconsistency. Cleanliness is a strong point, with the exception of occasional lapses in room maintenance.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Sea Crest and chose this hotel based on the outdoor amenities available on site. We had a young child with us and the water park was perfect! There are plenty of pools and it never felt crowded. We were in a room facing the water park and the view was great (ocean view whirlpool). I would recommend the highest floor possible as it can get loud by the pool until about 11:00 PM.

The room was okay…it was spacious and it seemed like endless hot water. The linens were also clean. The room did need some renovating though and there was a noticeable sewage smell that would come and go from the bathroom throughout the day, but we bought some spray at the mini mart and it helped make it manageable. We also went in with the expectation to clean up after ourselves after reading other reviews and there were some Covid policies in place, which wasn’t much of an issue since any towels or trash placed outside our room were promptly taken care of. We left the do not disturb sign on and just used the text messaging system to communicate any needs to housekeeping. We did have to go/call to the front desk a couple times to pick up towels and to request a pack and play.

It did feel like the location wasn’t in the best part of town, but we did take a trip to the Skywheel and shops at the boardwalk and it was about a 1.5 mile walk. There are some restaurants nearby and we would highly recommend the 7th Avenue Cafe.

Overall, the outside amenities were worth the stay and I imagine if you had multiple kids, the pricing for the room (which can sleep 4-5) would be well worth it.

We arrived early at the resort and tried for an early check in. Unfortunately, the room was still being cleaned; however, Amber at the front desk provided outstanding customer service. She secured our bags so we could enjoy the pools and beach. She took our number and called us immediately when the room was ready. In a time of Covid, I was glad the housekeeping were judicious regarding the cleaning of the rooms. Amber checked in daily with a text to see how we were doing and was able to alert housekeeping when we needed more sheets or a room cleaning. So efficient and easier.

The only downside of this resort is that there isn't a restaurant that is open all day or room service. There is a small cafe that is open until 2 that serves starbucks fare and a few breakfast items; however, it would have been nice to have an oceanfront restaurant on site.

The only other issue was that the resort was updating their internet so there was no WiFi available anywhere on site while there. This was semi problematic as my husband and I needed to do some work while vacationing. We ending up using our hot spots on our phone.

Overall, the customer service was up and beyond expectations and will stay here again in the future.

We visited the hotel in February of 2020. We got a queen suite with ocean view the view wasn’t directly of the ocean but it was too cold to be on the balcony anyways so I didn’t really mind. The hotel provided dishes, pots pans and cups as well toiletries and towels. They do offer indoor pools the pool room is heated so you’re not cold while swimming in the winter. I highly recommend this hotel plus they have have their own parking deck and we were allowed free Parking

After staying at Sea Crest for 5 nights my initial thoughts were that it was not the best and not the worst. I'll break down the pros and cons before I tell my story and explain why I give it such a poor rating. I will also say that I don't believe I've ever given a 1 star review before so it has to be pretty bad to achieve that rating.

Pros: Good location, room was decent and pools were pretty nice, great beach access, bar right next to the pool area

Cons: Common areas and elevators were dirty, bathroom smelled bad, elevators often had long waits, it's also in a very noisy part of town (not the hotels fault but didn't really work for my family)

Ok now for the reason for the poor rating. I have neck problems so I brought my own pillow so that I could sleep while on vacation. We checked out on Sunday and after I drove 10 hours to get home I realized I left my pillow there. We had left at 5:30am so I was a little groggy. Before I even unloaded the car I called the hotel, told them what room I was staying in and told them that I left a special expensive pillow on the bed. They said "no problem, it should be obvious that it's not a hotel pillow we'll go check it out." Great! Not great. They couldn't find it and said they will investigate with the housekeeping staff and that it could take up to 72 hours. The next day I call again thinking they may have made some progress. I spoke with a manager and he said he would check the housekeeping lost and found and the closet in the room to try to locate it. He still couldn't find it and said if I could give him the 72 hour window he would follow up and let me know.

I patiently waited more than the 72 hour window and called the following day in the morning. I spoke with a manager named Rachel who assured me that she would investigate and get back to me by 3pm. She never calls back. My inclination is either that they threw it out or a member of the housekeeping staff decided to keep it themselves. Either way it is a complete disregard for a guests personal property. I'm not sure what their policy is on lost items but I would assume that they would want to do their best to return them to their owner and that has not been the case. Please take this into account when choosing your resort and do not bring anything valuable with you.

The only thing I liked about this hotel was the price, view from the room and the bar on the premises. Other than that I didn’t like anything else about this place. I will never come back here ever again! The room seemed quite dirty which I thought was odd since we’re in the middle of a pandemic. I thought they’d take more time to thoroughly clean. There were several stains on the lamp shade, walls, sheets, crumbs on the floor in the kitchen. Everything just felt dirty. The pillows were the worst pillows I’ve ever felt in my life from a hotel! They literally were not the soft comfy pillows you are used to from a hotel, they literally felt like you were laying on a bag of laundry. Halfway through our stay I decided to take a shower at like 10pm and there was no hot water whatsoever. I waited several minutes to let the water “heat up” 15 minutes past, no hot water. I called to the front desk and they acted as if I had known all day and just decided to let them know “you gotta let us know these things so we can fix it” 🙄 they sent someone that night but he said they needed to replace something and it would be done tomorrow. Next day there was no communication between the night team and the day team because no one arrived at the said time and had no idea what was going on and what needed done when we spoke to the maintenance guy. Of course they said they fixed it but I still had the same issue later that day and every day up until we left. Imagine just wanting to take a hot shower to get all the sand and chlorine off of you and get ready for bed and you let the shower run for ever and ever just for it to still be lukewarm at best. Several times I had to take a not so hot shower. I call down again and they say “well it takes a while for the hot water to reach the 14th floor. So run the shower, and all the faucets to let the water circulate from the bottom to the top floor” smh like WHAT?!?!? How is that acceptable?! The only thing they offered was credit on our account that could be used towards the cafe or the bar 🙄🙄🙄🙄 they could not offer anything off of the total price we paid or at least a night or two because we booked through a third party. So unacceptable if you ask me. On the other hand the price was very cheap, there were several pools so we didn’t have to be crowded near a bunch of people. The water slide wasn’t open, but everything else was. I liked getting drinks at the bar and that there was happy hour. The drinks were a bit pricey for a small cup size but I needed to use my credit up so I didn’t really care. The gift shop was nice and convenient we also used up some credit there. The lady working that day was terrible. She was on her cellphone the entire time, no customer service skills, rude, and acted like we didn’t even exist. She needs a new occupation. If I ever go to Myrtle beach again, it definitely won’t be this place 👎

I arrived the night of 2/7/20 and was given a room with dirty sheets and a toilet that didn't work and a phone in the room they did not work so I had to walk back down so the office leaving my pregnant fiance alone upstairs I was given a key to another room and me and my pregnant fiance had to reload our bags and move to another location with no assistance from anyone the second room that was given to us had two cushions from the couch thrown across the living room floor the floors look to be dirty and look like they had not been vacuum the indoor outdoor carpet on the balcony was dirty my fiance the next morning call the front desk spoke to the manager and asked that clean sheets be left on the bed with a do not disturb sign and not to have anyone attempt to clean the room when will returned from having lunch someone had come in the room and change the bedding and disregard it totally when we had asked them not to do I later contacted hotels.com to explain to them the unpleasantries that we had experience our first time staying at this hotel prior to this music we stayed at the Sea Mist which was down the street. Hotels.com asked the hotel if we can have one night refunded the hotel refuse to refund the money for one night stay but offered $100 gift voucher that could be used on another visit saying that giving a refund was against their policy. I'm totally disappointed with this hotel and their inability to make things right with there guest, especially first-time customers

Stayed here for 7 days in a junior suite with 2 adults and 4 children. We were skeptical of traveling during covid. I had never been to Myrtle beach. We picked this hotel due to the location and bc the website was very adamant about cleaning, disinfecting and wearing masks. Check in was great. No masks required when checking in. View was great. Hotel was ok. My room was not cleaned once during our stay despite many calls and texts from me asking for it to be cleaned. I borrowed a vacuum Twice in order to vacuum our room. I had to call for towels daily. Our fridge was not working upon arrival. The toilet paper holder was completely hanging out of the wall. I never once saw anyone cleaning or disinfecting the hotel or pool areas. Website said crowded areas would be cleaned once an hour. I never saw anyone cleaning anything. In fact, I saw no staff ever. Website said pools would be shut down every 2 hours to clean. I never saw the pools or pool areas be cleaned once. The elevators were disgusting and very over crowded. No social distancing. No masks were required any where on hotel property nor in the Starbucks. The “other” elevator was broken most of the time. Each beach entrance had stairs which made it almost impossible to have a beach cart. I had zero WiFi the entire stay in the hotel. Very disappointed. I had to “quarantine” for 14 days coming home from SC and Im very surprised none of us got sick. Step up your game Sea Crest 👎🏽

Okay first and foremost there are two different parts to this Resort well I would say Motel. It is at our building and also I'm guessing with lower-level buildings that has I think two or three levels on it. To start my trip off I get to the room and I'm like okay this does not look you like how do pictures make it look. I will say that all the furniture is exact in the pictures and the carpet but it is very old and the room smell like old musty basement or some type of old musty smell. The bathroom is about the only thing updated in this Motel. The stairwells had people sleeping in them and they also are old musty and never will cleaned and the 3 days that I was there. My first room I experienced a roach problem so I was then moved to a second room which I didn't see any bugs but just the experience of seeing roaches in my room had me uncomfortable the rest of my stay. The plumbing in the first room was horrible. The kitchen sink backed up which is where some of the Roches I did see were. Tried to wash them down the sink the sink backed up so that just made it worse. Then I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and what do I see no, one crawling on the floor that was it for me. I know there is a lot of traffic in and out of these hotels and rooms but they still should be up kept to not have bugs. I mean they were apologetic about the situation and then come to find out as I'm about to leave to other people came in with the same issue so I think they need to fumigate this whole building. They did have pools that were open and we're heated which was a good thing and also the bar was good and convenient as well and made some good drinks. The view from the balcony was also a good thing but just a bug issue just threw off this whole Vibes in the room I didn't really want to stay in there but with the amount that I paid I wasn't going to go nowhere else. The location was convenient and there were a lot of restaurants in the area but a lot of the attractions were closed. I did get a credited back for one night so that was a good thing for my stay and experience that I did have. If the rooms were more updated or maybe the carpets cleaned and hallways updated this would be a better motel hotel resort. I would not call this a resort or a hotel this is a motel definitely. The nicest part of the hotel is the lobby where you check in in the bar which is outside and your balcony. I'll say this if you want to sleep uncomfortably because of the thought of bugs roaches in your room and if you don't mind having people sleeping in the stairwell and also people running up and down the hallways until about four in the morning This place is for you.

We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay. The website includes their COVID policy which states they sanitize the common areas including the elevators every hour but I don't think the elevator was sanitized once in the 48 hours we were there. Beds were comfortable but the bathroom floor did not look like it was clean. We checked in about 8 pm and realized around 10 pm that we had no toilet paper. I called the front desk and was told that housekeeping was very busy but we could come and get it in the lobby. I also heard them tell that to other guests who called while I was checking in. I'm fairly certain there was no housekeeping in the evening which is why people were being told to pick items up on their own. I shouldn't be paying those rates if I have to walk to another building to pick up supplies. There was no monitoring of how many guests were using the pools, there was smoking in the pools, and lounge chairs were laid out one on top of the other. We paid extra for oceanfront and opening the sliding door required a herculean effort. And the so called hand sanitizer smelled horrendous.

I really enjoyed the view and the size of the room. Location was great and beaches were very clean.

The room did not get cleaned daily like I requested, a lot of times there weren't any replenished supplies and I would have to call and ask.

They said there was a great coffee shop, which there was a coffee shop but they had no coffee and the staff whispered and barely answered any questions when spoken too, the espresso machine was broken the entire stay. The little shop they have attached to the hotel was alright, the lady at the counter was nice but they were out of a lot of stuff we needed also. The front desk was very responsive and friendly.

Pools smelled very stinky, I am sure it was just the chemicals but I can not get the smell out of our swimsuits. The pools were also very cold.

COVID has ruined out family vacation this year unfortunately. UGH.
