There was one lady at the front desk who was one of the best such duty persons I have ever encountered. Her name is Kyanna. She needs to get a raise and promotion. She was VERY willing to be helpful as best as she could. She kept us engaged with small talk while the computer was not responding fast enough and told us that someone is always at the desk so call anytime we might need anything. Usually these people are mechanical, irritatingly so. But Ms Kyanna was "totally human." She treats the guests as humans, may be like family, not just another person who rents the facility to leave tomorrow.
The place seems old and not kept up to date. The first room we got the main door will not lock from outside, the bathroom door will not close and the balcony door will not lock from inside. So we had to be shifted to another room. In the new room there was not enough lights in the wash basin area so we could not see properly there in the night. If there was a table lamp we could have moved it there but there were only two small reading lights affixed to the wall. The entrance area light did not reach the "kitchen" area. No trash can or kitchen towels. So I went down to the front desk (there was no phone in the room and the front desk number was not handy) but the man there simply said the maintenance people are gone for the day so things will have to be fixed when they come back next day! But how do we do some cooking tonight when there is no light in the stove area? I didn't think the man will be any help so I did not inquire further. My wife had to use her phone light to use the stove! The microwave above the stove did not work so it did not have any lights. There was a small microwave placed above the fridge which my wife could not reach.
But I am not complaining because Ms Kyanna's good natured behavior made us forget every short coming and enjoy the stay at Sun N Sand. Only because of her I will not give much negative comment. She is a gem of a person. While checking out we met another lady by the name of Ashley (I think she is a manager there) and she agreed that Ms Kyanna is special.
At the beach the sand is filled with harsh pieces of small stones or shells so we all got scratched (bleeding scratch!) while playing with the waves and falling down. This is NOT a beach that people can enjoy swimming or playing with the tides. May be it is just this area (otherwise why does Myrtle Beach have the tourist attraction, I wonder) and may be further away from there does not have coarse, hurtful sand and shells pieces. Do not know.

We stayed here on a Friday night (last night 10/9/20), the staff were friendly and the location on the beach was nice. We booked through booking.com and the price was excellent but they stuck us in a corner room where everyone had a balcony but us. We didn't care too much about that we still had ocean view. I did however care that probably half or more of the guests and many of the hotel staff did not wear masks, as mandated by the city of Myrtle Beach, and the guests completely ignored the covid recommendations for the elevators, meaning multiple croups of massless guests in the elevator at a time. We also just came from another resort that had hand sanitizer dispensers hanging on the walls everywhere and they had none. Beyond covid, the hotel is old and needs updates but for the price it was doable. I would not recommend this place if you are trying to take your significant other for a romantic weekend but just to hit the beach for a night on a budget it's okay... if you aren't worried about covid of course.

Not very impressed with this place. You have to park in a parking deck, and take an elevator to the building . Then you walk 50 yards to another elevator to get to your floor. Maintenance did not do anything for horrible bathroom vent fan. It looked like it had never been cleaned. Room service was "light" - which means they only checked towels. The hallways smelled of weed so bad I thought I'd get a second hand buzz.

As a travel agent I was a bit hesitant to book this property after reading the reviews. However the hotel was great

I got there early and Ashley the front desk manager upgraded the room and checked me in

It all started when we parked the car after checking in..there were 5 levels for the cars. Was a bit scary as the cement was cracked, broken and the rebar was sticking out all over. pieces of the cement fell from our level onto the level below. It was a good thing that it did not hit a car.
It was also quite a process to go from the parking garage to the room. One has to take the elevator from the parking garage down to the first floor into the hotel and then has to walk thru the main portion of the hotel, past the check in desk and around a corner to the elevator that takes the people to the various floors where their rooms are located. Very complicated just to get into your room.
The walls are some kind of stucco and were crumbling in the hallways.
The smell of marijuana was prevalent throughout the entire place, coming in thru the air vents.
The elevator is not functioning properly as when it approaches the floors, it seems to make a loud clanging sound, this noise happens even if the elevator does not stop on that floor. This was brought out to the night manager and he acknowledged that there was a problem. He did inform us that there would be a refund due to not being able to sleep because of the noise.
At midnight there was a husband and wife team that were painting the hallways in the hotel...on our floor they played loud music and talked until early morning. There were many Wet Paint signs pasted up but there was no sign of any wet paint nor work done as the walls remained the same color three days.
There was no maid service either.
Indoor and outdoor pool were advertised...never saw or found the indoor pool.
Trying to make the best of the situation and give it a chance, we did stay for the duration but did make other arrangements upon speaking with Jackie, the manager.
We spoke with Jackie about getting a refund as per what the Night Manager had told us and she informed us that there was no night manager and that she was the only Manager there. Then she went on about that we ate the steak, so we would have to pay for the room, as one would do in the restaurant when the steak was gone. So there would be no refund! She was very rude and tried to stifle anyone that either asked a question or had a complaint.
I must point out that we were standing in a long line of complaining people. The complaints included the noisy elevator, not able to sleep, no maid service, smell of marijuana, as well as other things.
This hotel was booked thru booking.com and needs to be deleted from their list of potential hotels in Myrtle Beach.

Sadly, the other reviewers are correct. The rooms and the common area are very dirty. I doubt the floor has been mopped in a very long time and upon check in I was told not to expect room service but if I have a need, they will try to get it met. This is the kind of hotel where you never want to take your shoes off in your room and whatever you do, don't touch the comforter. It's unfortunate. I'm paying a little over $300+ /night.

The Sun N Sand Hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The parking garage elevator was not working which meant I had to unload my car at the Front door of the Hotel while dodging people in bathing suits heading for the beach. There were no luggage trollies available nor was there even the possibility of getting any help with the things that had to lugged to the elevator and then to the room. The parking garage stairwell was absolutely filthy. It truly looked like something out of a horror movie. The paint on our room door was pealing off. When someone closed their door the entire room shook. We were given rooms on the 9th floor. I paid for an oceanfront efficiency room with a balcony. I have two little kids. The balcony door would not lock and was obviously pried open somehow and damaged. I was a nervous wreck the whole time I was there. We were told upon arrival that due to Covid there was limited room cleaning service which meant for us there was no room service at all. There was limited food room service which again we interrupted to mean there was none. The room telephone didn't work anyway. We had no direct contract with the front desk. The beach was ok but there is a substantial undertow and kids need to be really careful. There were no lifeguards anywhere. The hotel pool was tiny, about the size of a small residential home pool. If I had known about the condition of the hotel and parking garage I would never have booked it. Covid was the excuse but the owner of the Hotel could have taken that time to bring the hotel up to at least average standards instead of blaming everything on Covid. At least peel the rest of the paint off our door. I'm sorry to slam this place so hard but I owe it to you to tell you about my experience. Book another hotel but be careful because I suspect there are other hotels in the same condition. Sun N Sand Resort looks Ok from the street but that's it. Up close it failed in every way to even get a terrible rating from me. By the way this is my first bad review. I'm 74 and have traveled the world over.

floor filthy,no dishes in kitchenette, feet were black just from the shower to the bed, be prepared to wear your shoes or flipflops at all times in the room except in bed because housekeeping will not change the sheets. do not walk around in your socks unless they are disposable.The staff was friendly but that's as far as they would go. the microwave didn't work half the time,it was a crapshoot as to whether you were going to have hot oatmeal or cold.also the doors close automatically with a loud bang couple that with a bunch of adolescent adults running in and out all night letting the doors slam every 5 minutes was maddening. had to run the ac fan on high and leave the bath light/fan combo on all night to drown out the noise and i don't know how they did it but it seemed that the noise from the street was amplified and piped into the room.went on vacation to unwind and am more wound up now than b4 i left. It would have been fine for a 60 dollar a night room but it was more than double that and when you spend 1500.00 + for a week you expect the floor to be clean and at least a little quite time but no, doors slamming at all hours of the night then housekeeping banging on doors all morning ask if you need anything and if you do they say no.Never again Myrtle Beach has just lost a 45 year customer and I know that they don't care. From now on its surfside beach or north myrtle. No one should have to pay that much to be degraded and left to fin for themselves.Weed Friendly but People not so much.

My family and I arrived to Sand N Sun Resort from Indianapolis, IN Friday, September 10th. We proceed to our rooms (3 booked) after receiving terrible customer service at the front desk. Upon entry to one of our three rooms, the room was found to be in poor shape. By poor, I’ll attach photos. We received complimentary trash on the floor as we walked in, what appeared to be blood on our bed sheets, air conditioning units covered in dirt which we had to clean, beds not made, toilet seats disgusting, urine seeped through the mattress which one would know if they changes the linens amongst other hazardous issues. I immediately spoke with house keeping, asked for new sheets and more towels and was informed she’d return, but never did. The doors slammed ridiculously loud in the hallway. We heard the noise all night of other guests coming in and out of their rooms which we could not sleep. We attempted to resolve all issues in house as suggested with not a single solution. I asked for the contact information for the corporate office which I was given the name Blake Delman as the GM. I proceeded to the Facebook page for the resort in effort to speak with management whom I was introduced to Ally. I was informed someone would contact my Monday, September 13th which did not occur. I reminded the resort of their promise which a call was received Tuesday, September 14th. I heard numerous excuses for the holes in the wall, warn out furniture, missed urine stains which we could not use the bed in our room, overlooked trash, even an excuse for housekeeping entering our hotel room Sunday, September 12th at 8:47 a.m., unannounced and without a single knock while changing my infant child. Mind you, check out wasn’t until 11:00 a.m. A “substantial discount” was offered which we live in Indiana and wouldn’t dream of returning. I contacted the Better Business Bureau September 14th which to date, Sand n Sun Resort has not responded. We requested a refund for one of the three rooms booked which is beyond reasonable. No response, lack of care, poor training, and health hazard. Shame on you.

The things that was good about this place was the Person at the Front Desk, Parking, how close you are to everything, the Price and being close to the Beach.
Once you get to the Room the bathroom is disgusting the actual bedding was a curtain .. yesss a curtain and the so called Laundry room is literally a washer and dryer in the middle of the hallway 🤦🏽♀️. Also the Phone, desk, bedding and floors in the room are nasty don’t look like they were cleaned at all … I guess if you don’t care about the actual room it would be a 5star but for Me where I lay my head matters.

I am not certain. We were just prepared to use debit as our form of payment.
They do have them "YES!".
I'm not sure about using a debit card. I was asked for a credit card but it wouldn't hurt to call the front desk and ask. They were all very helpful and friendly staff.
