We stayed on the 17th floor. The room was not quite ready when we checked in at 4:15 on Sunday afternoon. The check in process is a bit inconvenient as it is in the 3rs floor. There is not much room for cars to load and unload and the parking garage is a block and a half across the street. Be aware of the garage elevator. It was not working properly. Many Myrtle Beach hotels have this issue. The hotel could have used a good power wash out front. Be aware of homeless folks out and about the boardwalk area. The water park was nice but the design of the hotel was a bit odd. There was only 1 shower to wash off your feet and such as you came in from the beach so that made the pools a bit sandy. You needed a room key to get in from the beach and to access the elevator to your room as well as to use the parking garage($10 a day). That is an added security measure. The room was clean and comfortable. As with most hotels and other establishments there was a lack of workers so you had to request maid service. They did the best they could to keep the sandy and wet floors cleaned and vacuumed. Free breakfast is an added plus but make sure you get up early at 7am and just expect the usual simple hot hotel breakfast. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for families but do not expect a four star diamond Hilton resort…
The perfect location for first time visitor. This hotel has everything you need to enjoy your vacation in Myrtle Beach. ROOMS: Are vary spacious, comfortables and has all amenities a guess needs ( Iron, iron table, microwave, little fridge) AND a spectacular view to the beach BREAKFAST: For $14.99 + tax you can enjoy a breakfast buffet. The staff in that area is super friendly POOL AREA: 1 main pool, A lazy river and 3 hot tubs and water slides for adults and kids. Our favorite were the hot tubs. LOCATION: Right in the heart of Myrtle Beach, walking distance from the boardwalk PARKING: Self parking a block away from the hotel OR valet parking for $15.00 per night. Highly recommended for couples or families visiting Myrtle Beach
The complimentary breakfast was delicious and came w a beautiful view! Shonta was fabulous and checked on us personally during our meal. Valet service is also fantastic and has made traveling around a breeze. Can’t wait for the rest of our week at the beach!
We stayed here with 3 children and had a wonderful time. The breakfast buffet is great and Zuzana, Shonta, and AJ ensured the various breakfast options were always refilled promptly if they were getting low or empty. Our children were very happy which made us able to relax! The restaurant by the pool was great food and the drinks were also. Children loved the pool and splash area. Proximity to area restaurants and sites is also ideal.
My stay at the homewood suites was AMAZING!!! There was a worker by the name of ZuZana that was awesome our first night. She recommended some good food and drinks from the restaurant in the hotel and was really sweet every time i seen her in the hotel. Would definitely recommend hotel to friends and family
Gross location. Housekeeping staff doesn’t speak English and take 24 hours in advance to schedule. Homeless people sleep on the grounds. Parking is 2 blocks away and super scary. Go north…way North. Ghetto.
We reserved 3 rooms for family vacation. Room 1- never cleaned even after requesting cleaning. Room 2- Not clean on check in. One Bed had dirt all over it. My daughter requested new bedding including duvet. New sheets and towels delivered in trash bag and hung from doorknob. No knock, no duvet. They slept for 4 nights without blanket. Requested cleaning and NO cleaning for 4 days. Shower curtain rod broken not fixed after request. Opened door to find staff painting door with no warning and no wet paint sign. (Glad my toddler grandson didn't touch) Requested toilet paper and no one brought up they had to go to service desk to pick up. Room 3 - ours not clean on check in. Soaking carpet from spilled drink near beds. Outside off dresser covered in sticky pink drink. I washed off top and handles to find drink pooling in drawers. We have pictures to confirm. Peanut M& M's located along baseboards and closet doors. Room NEVER cleaned for 4 days. We had to get towels and wash clothes from service desk they never delivered. My husband had to take trash downstairs 3times throughout our stay. Arrival - they would not let me check in for all of us even though I reserved the rooms. I had to go back downstairs to get my husband to check us all in. They did not state that you needed room card to go to floors so I was stranded with toddler grandson on a floor not ours until a vacationer used their card for me to get to our correct floor. We waited 15 minutes with him screaming after a 6 hour drive. They do not have enough luggage racks to accommodate the influx and departure of people. My daughters rack tipped over spilling all the baby items onto a filthy lobby floor. Another vacationers spilled their rack also with a case of water breaking and spilling everywhere. Pool area was filled with liter and kids throwing dirty underwear off balcony into pool below. Parking is block and half away and you pay $10.00 a day to walk in the humidity. Breakfast is not free as it is in most Hilton's. I DO NOT recommend this Hilton AT ALL. We will NEVER stay here again. We will go back to non Hilton down the beach. 1/2 the price, cleaner, with splash pool, pool, and lazy river and great service. This Hilton is no where near Hilton standards. I will be reporting to corporate!…
When we booked this hotel, it was still "South Bay" and transitioned fully over to Homewood Suites by the time we arrived for our stay. This may or may not account for some of the issues that we had and may be resolved in a future renovation or rebranding, but it's an important preface. In short, the hotel's best feature is the location and the view, but other issues were enough to make me go with a 3 instead of 4 out of 5. First, the positive: our suite was a top floor and very spacious. The balcony looked out on a BEAUTIFUL view of the beach. Because we had a corner penthouse, we also had a side window looking up toward the Skywheel, and what a breathtaking view that was at night with the lights! The kitchenette was fantastic: ample with a full size microwave oven, a full size fridge, a mini-range (no regular oven), and a mini-dishwasher. We had plenty of plates, forks, etc. for a family of four. There were actually three sinks in the room: one for the kitchenette, one "hallway" vanity, and the one in the bathroom, which I think was a first for us! As far as the room itself, the main problem was bathroom related. The door was swollen or had other issues where it would require a shove to close -- and if you didn't close it completely, the heavy door would swing the other way until it scraped gratingly against the tile. The shower pressure was okay, but it was short (I'm 5'11"). The rest of the suite showed some minor distress but given the age of the hotel I'll give the rest a pass. The distance on the boardwalk between the hotel to the Skywheel is barely 10 minutes away, and is a nice stroll. The pool area on the first floor could definitely be considered another plus for the hotel, especially for its two water slides. The main negatives involved customer service and confusion on check in and parking procedures. Firstly, it would help if some specific directions were provided beforehand on how best to check in. There is a very short (3-4 cars) entrance where you can park in order to check in, which meant almost every day there was cars sitting in the median waiting to turn in. The hotel's self-parking is not actually a next door lot but a parking garage almost a block away, which I didn't realize until I arrived; the problem is, you can't access the garage without a keycard. We just took our chances and parked in a side lot that was supposed to be paid long enough for me to go to the 3rd floor (yep, not the first) for the hotel lobby. Once I checked in and got oriented on the location of the garage, I let the family and baggage out, drove to the garage and parked, and hustled back. After a while, we got used to this short jaunt and the garage itself always felt secure (perhaps even more so than an open lot would have been), but still. While Hilton could never recommend this officially, I might suggest parking in one of the small hotels across the street, then run across to check in. I should also note that you can try your luck with their valet parking, but I would have likely waited at least a half hour for my turn during check in. (If you self park, don't forget to keep a key during check out so you can get your car out of the garage!) Breakfast is a very narrow window, only between 9 and 10 am. That said, the food was ample and options changed a bit every day, and it was always hot and fresh. Be prepared for a line at the waffle makers. While the front desk were smiles and fairly friendly, other staff weren't so much. i asked a question to someone in the pool area and they answered it in a monotone without even looking at me. The worst customer service issue: we asked for housekeeping to do a quick vacuum and sweep because of sand on our floors, around noon on.a Monday. They said no promises for later that same day but they should definitely come by on Tuesday. No one came. Funnily enough, we had asked for late check out and, despite the request, housekeeping came by THREE TIMES (three different people) around 11 am on the day we were leaving. They seem perplexed and frustrated that we put in for a late check out days earlier. We felt rushed to go, which is exactly opposite of why we asked for late check out. Oh, and one of the garage elevator doors got stuck open on the first floor, which meant both elevators wouldn't work, so that entailed a walk up four flights of stairs. (It was fixed later that day.) Beds were decent for sleeping, but even 19 floors up, be prepared for noise from weekend cruising on the street -- cars revving, loud music. It was a bit better during the weeknights, however. In the end, while I might still be able to give a cautious recommendation based on location and the size/amenities of the suite, it would be worth comparing your nearby options, especially for the cost of your stay.…
Loved this hotel! Tom the bartender at the pool was the best! Remembered us every day and the service was great! Kids loved the pool and slides. Easy access to the beach. We have stayed here twice over past few years and it hasn't disappointed!
