The Homewood Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront is often celebrated for its helpful staff and family-friendly atmosphere, with many guests enjoying the festive ambiance and a range of amenities, including a game room and various pools. However, some visitors have called attention to issues with room cleanliness and maintenance, despite appreciating the spaciousness and views.
While the prime beachfront location is a plus, concerns over the surrounding area and additional costs have been raised. Moreover, the value proposition is questioned by several travelers due to high parking fees and room rates.

Didn’t stay at the hotel but ate at Coconut Charlie’s and we enjoyed it! The food was good and not super expensive. We hit happy hour and enjoyed the half priced cocktails that were very tasty. Our waitress Shana was efficient and very kind to my kiddos! The food came out quickly too. We finished our drinks on the balcony over looking the beach and it was perfect.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at South Bay. We had 1 of their 2 bedroom suites. The room was so spacious, clean, and had everything we could possibly want for our family of 4. We had a lovely balcony that overlooked the beach and ocean and offered us the relaxation we were looking for.
Housekeeping was wonderful and came in each day and cleaned while we were out enjoying the sites. The check in with Matthew was wonderful and he made it super easy.
The pool and indoor waterpark was also outstanding Our 12 year old twins enjoyed going everyday and using the pool, slides, and lazy river-it was also very warm which was real nice.
The few drawbacks of the hotel were that the concierge was not just there to help with things you may need (recommendations for restaurants, events, etc.) they were also there to sell you discount tickets for the sites, but you had to sit in on a 2 hour talk about Wyndham resorts in order to get the discounts-that is not something we were interested in on our vacation-so we ended up buying our own tickets and paying the online price. Also, they tried to sell us these tickets every day when we went to breakfast, even after we declined after the first day, they still tried to sell us each day, and it got disruptive to our morning. I feel as though they should have a checklist, that after they offer you once they could check your name off so that they don't bother you again.
The other slight drawback was our room was on the second floor. The lobby was on the third. The advantage was that there were only 2 rooms on our floor (and they were fantastic) so it was rather private. The disadvantage was that is was on the same floor as the main housekeeping area for the hotel, so it felt slightly like we were in "the basement".
The only other slight complaint that I would have is the breakfast. It was wonderful, but it was the same variety of food all 5 days that we were there. It was cooked well and they did have quite a bit to choose from, but I would of liked for them to switch it up a a bit every few days.
We will definitely be back, it was a wonderful place to stay :)

So this was my family and mines first time staying at South Bay Inn and Suites. Let just say it was super nice, clean, and friendly! JANTZEN was at the front desk helped me several times during my stay and was so nice everytime! Never made me feel like an inconvenience she was always very pleasant! The pools were super nice and it was great having them inside with the windows opened. Temperature was good on them not to cold and had several hot tubs which was great! Also they provided towels at the pool and kept a check on guests to ensure that you were actually staying at that hotel if you were in the pool area. Rooms were super nice only thing I didn't like was not having a bathtub it was a shower could've used that with kids. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay! Also parking deck is just a little walk away but I really like the fact you must scan you room key to get in and out!I about forgot they went above and beyond between faxing something I needed and baking our cookies in the cafe because silly us thought we had an oven. I would definitely go back!

So, the hotel is great, it offers a water park with pool, waterslides, lazy river, and beach access. Onsite restaurant included. They closed down their breakfast buffet due to COVID, totally understandable,so instead they offered a free bagged light breakfast, but not for everyone, oh no. If you book your room through a third party sight such as Expedia or Priceline, you don't get the free sack breakfast, only those who book directly through their website get the free breakfast. They could have mentioned that on their website as we chose this hotel because they offered that. We booked through Priceline since we have the rewards card with them. My question is, if a hotel treats their 3rd party booked guests as 2nd class, obviously they don't want them staying at their hotel, so why use a 3rd party to find guests? Also, wouldn't Expedia be pissed if they knew the hotel was disincentivizing people from booking through them? We complained to the hotel Manager, and she stated "I'm sorry you feel that way," so not helpful at all. The hotel is nice,so I'm giving them an extra point there, but feeling like a 2nd class guest is a real downer, so a 2/5 score is appropriate here.

We are genuinely sorry if you felt like you were being treated as second class guests in any way due to our breakfast promotion. It is a policy that has been in place for well over a year and is advertised on our website as being for guests who book directly. It can be purchased by anyone who wishes. The ala carte menu is also available for any guest to book additional items from. We are happy to have guests booking through any method, but it is common practice to offer special perks for direct booking guests. In the end we are truly sorry if that made you unhappy and hope that the rest of your stay has been enjoyable, and that you've had a good stay at the beach.

We had an oceanfront room with a balcony that had a beautiful view of the ocean and the boardwalk. My daughter, her 5 and 7 year old boys and myself stayed for six nights. The hotel services stated that simple housekeeping to include a wipe down of the bathroom, beds made, and supplies refurnished did not happen. Upon request we received a broom outside our door, towels, trash bags, coffee, were also left outside the door not in a very timely manner. The housekeeping staff were not friendly when I needed a towel and asked if I could take one from his cart. He said he needed those for the rooms he had to clean. Needless to say, an ocean front property resulted in a Very gritty Sandy room after 6 days. We also had a leak in the bathroom ceiling right over the toilet. They did come in the room to fix the leak. I was told at the front desk that CDC does not allow for staff to come into rooms, however none of the staff wore masks, and there was no social distancing by anyone. The hotel staff crowded into the elevators along with every one else like a can of sardines. Maintenance was allowed to come in the room to fix the leaky ceiling. My grandson
did get sick on this trip and has tested positive for Covid 19. I understand everyone is short of health, but don’t state your simple house keeping as something that it’s not under pretension of safety.

We spent 5 Nights at South Bay Inn & Suites. We stayed in a queen oceanfront room. The room itself was clean when we arrived, and the view was simply breath taking! The kitchen in the room was a great addition to have also. We were not able to have maid service with Covid currently, but the front desk was super helpful whenever we called down to ask for anything. Our little guy loved the pool. The indoor waterpark was fun, and the lazy river was nice too!
All the staff we encountered was super friendly. We booked directly through website so breakfast was included, just not buffet style at the moment. We were able to have bagged pastries or muffins each morning, plus coffee and juice. We did buy a pancake breakfast one morning, and that was good too. Dee,Shonta, and AJ were all very friendly and helpful when selecting our breakfast each morning.
Resort is within walking distance to board walk which was great also.
The only thing that we disliked was the location of parking garage. The area at night does not feel the safest when walking back. A small sense of security was added knowing that you only had access to the garage with a room key.
We look forward to coming back here whenever we visit Myrtle Beach!

We chose to stay in this hotel based on reviews and the fact it has a water park. Overall, it was a positive experience. Hotel is newer and feels clean and fresh. Housekeeping personnel is pleasant and courteous. Things we liked the most:
* Since the pool is enclosed, we could open the door at night and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves (air conditioning automatically shot off when you open balcony door).
* There is no loud music on the property so you can truly relax and get a feel of the ocean atmosphere. This was extremely important to us as we work all year and come to the beach with kids to relax. Thank you to hotel management for this. (We have stayed at nice resorts before were the loud music truly ruined the entire stay).
* Location. Direct oceanfront, on the boardwalk, walking distance to the pier if you want fishing, and restaurants.
* Waterpark is nice for younger children and early teens. The rides are built with safety in mind.
What we didn't like:
* Elevators. Only 4 main elevators to serve an 18 story building appears to be a major design oversight. You are pretty much guaranteed to a long wait line at the elevator. For this reason, choose lower floors so you can use stairs and get your required exercise instead of waiting up to 15 minutes for a ride. Rooms start at 4th floor.
* Enclosed Waterpark and pool. Although having them enclosed eliminates the outside noise, it also traps the chlorine smell inside. The chlorine smell is incredibly strong and eliminated any desire to use the beautiful pool.
So, if you are looking to relax and unwind at a clean, comfortable hotel with pleasant atmosphere, Oceanfront, with on-site Waterpark, look no further. The positives outweigh the elevator issue. However, if you want a more crowded place with loud music, noise, and excitement then you have to look at some cheaper, lower rated hotels.

We had a fantastic stay and Each Morning we went down for breakfast, we were Greeted by a Beautiful Smile that was eager to help usand her name is Shashonta. I don't like to drink coffee or hot beverages out of styrofoam and each morning she would go get me a 'real' coffee cup and that for sure sealed the deal for me. She was so kind, helpful and FRIENDLY to Everyone. We will definitely stay here again and again when we go back to Myrtle Beach...Thank you Shashonta!!!

Shonta, Dee ,and Marissa did an excellent job making sure we had a great breakfast experience. They were very sweet and respectful ladies. They were very helpful and kept coming by making sure we were enjoying our breakfast. They also kept coming by getting our dirty dishes out of our way when we were done eating. We definitely had a wonderful experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at South Bay Inn & Suites! The hotel looks very new and well kept. Our room was cleaned and well stocked with towels and toiletries. My children loved the in-room Smart TV. It provided them options like Youtube which they enjoyed. The Water Park made it all worthwhile! It was clean and very enjoyable! The food was absolutely amazing! The chef Chevron was kind enough to come and speak to us while we praised him for the wonderful breakfast and dinner. The only two things about the hotel is that the beds are extremely uncomfortable and way too firm. Also, at checkout the elevators service was terrible. I will however return because everything else was a hit!

Our parking garage is Valet only, $25/night
Yes. In fact I saw a Lab on our recent visit. You will have to pay extra for pet. I asked the quest and she said $75 for the week. I would call and get name of person you talked with. All staff were extremely kind & helpful.
Yes, but costly (approx. $50) and turned in at approximately 4 or 5pm. I purchased my own ultra light weight, collapsible beach chairs from Walmart for less than $30. Holds 220 Ilbs. When collapsed, they were small enough to fit in my beach bag. They were PERFECT and mine to use anytime and anywhere. I also bought beach umbrellas easily carried on my plane. I would recommend.
