The Courtyard Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing offers a comfortable and modern atmosphere with recently renovated rooms, although some areas might feel outdated. While some guests found the rooms clean and cozy, others pointed out the need for further updates and raised concerns about mustiness and cleanliness. The hotel's cleanliness generally garners positive remarks, with efficient housekeeping, but there have been occasional inconsistencies. Its location is well-regarded for its access to local attractions and shopping, despite not being on the beachfront. Opinions on the hotel's value vary, with some guests finding it reasonable and others questioning the additional fees. The service receives commendations for the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, notwithstanding sporadic service hiccups. Amenities are seen as convenient, but the hotel is currently experiencing some limitations due to ongoing renovations.

Sorry for being so critical, but I was very disappointed in our experience. I stayed over the first weekend in May. Downside: The location is right next to an RV park with barking dogs, and foot traffic from a neighboring apartment complex. The facility is old, and in need of some improvement. The A/C unit was filthy, and I was dodging fruit flies in and around the bathroom. The room floorplan left very little feel for privacy. (Everytime the neighbors flushed, our bathroom shuddered and the pipes squealed.) You can hear ALL passersby in the hallway. We were only given ONE towel, washcloth, and hand towel per person. Not very considerate when coming back from the beach! The Upside: The bathroom light was out and the front desk responded with courtesy, quickly and efficiently. The price was good; I booked through hotels.com . I like how the hotel is tucked away from the highway. It's a 10 minute drive to the beach and sand from there.
Final thought: Because we stayed during the end stages of the quarantine, we could not use ANY of the facility EXCEPT for the room. The room alone was not enough to make me want to come back. Because there are plenty of hotels to choose from, I will choose a different hotel next time.

We have been traveling for the last three months. No hotels have offered their free advertised breakfast because of "COVID" even though IHOP, etc. have no problem with breakfast. This hotel does not offer free breakfast, so that was not an issue.

The odd thing, however, is that every other hotel we have stayed in provide in-room coffee. This hotel does not provide in-room coffee "because of COVID." They want all the guests to go to the lobby to get coffee. I fail to see how herding guests all together in the lobby is safer than providing in-room coffee.

Also, the air conditioner does not respond to the thermostat. It is either on full blast, a little cold, or it can be unplugged. Oh, the ice maker is broken on this floor. It looks like it has been for some time.

This hotel is in need of serious upgrade. First thing we noticed is that the room itself had a musty odor to it. You can smell it upon entering the room and if you stand close to the air conditioner when it’s running. The toilet seat had a chunk missing from the actual seat. The sink had mold growing under the rim. The bed is uncomfortable. The mattress is fairly hard. There was a shower grate standing up in the shower when we got there. I guess it is supposed to go over the drain. The couch is broken down and uncomfortable. We did not eat breakfast there, as we ate out the two days we were there. The hotel does have installed in the shower bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I was impressed that the the towels were actually soft, unlike most hotel towels. The room does have a small fridge and microwave and a little coffee station. I wasn’t impressed overall.

We picked the Courtyard at Barefoot Landing since it was the highest rated chain hotel in the Myrtle Beach area we could find that was also pet friendly. The lobby area was nice and the room was clean. Our biggest issue was that it is an older hotel (built in 1999 and last renovated in 2010) so common areas and rooms look dated with visible dings throughout. We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite over Presidents Day weekend with an average rate of $235 per night. Comparable hotels/rooms at that price point would typically have a kitchen in a 1 bedroom suite, but the Courtyard did not (we knew this at the time of booking). This combined with no complimentary breakfast really brings the overall value of the hotel down a notch especially when compared to newer hotel brands.

After booking online and being quoted a price of $130 a night they then charged me $500 a night for two nights $1000 for your average hotel. I have tried to email, call and correspond with them to correct this matter and they have done nothing but shut me down. I work in customer service at a major resort and can not believe the way that Marriott treats their loyal customers. I encourage you to look at the other beautiful resorts out there in Myrtle Beach.

The hotel is in a great location. While it is an older property, it was clean and comfortable. I was also pleased they allowed pets. They have an onsite restaurant and bar which is very convenient. They also have a nice pool area. The staff was professional and friendly. The king room I reserved was not available upon arrival. However, they provided me with a nice room with two queen beds and I was able to pick the floor I wanted. They also discounted the room fee and included breakfast free of charge for the entire stay.

Stayed for two nights with my son while fishing off shore in N.Myrtle Beach. The room was not huge but big enough to accommodate us just fine. If you're not just sitting in the room with a party of 4 you'll find it to be big enough. No problems with cleanliness, plumbing, funny smells or any of that stuff. The staff we encountered were friendly.
There was a coffee maker in the room but no coffee pods or cups. Most hotel coffee makers are tiny and don't give you much so I normally bring some with me (no judging my coffee addiction please). It's a good thing since when we went to the desk all he had was decaffeinated 🤢.
Our last morning we went to the lobby for the "sunrise bistro" (read Starbucks) which had some incredibly overpriced items that looked like microwave fare. $10 for a 1 egg omelette and $4 coffee...no thanks. I get charging for convenience, but really. Anyway, the hotel is really nice but go elsewhere for eating...plenty close by.
I would certainly stay here again.
