We were at The Sanctuary over Thanksgiving weekend. It is a beautiful resort that has the feel of a Ritz-Carlton. Thanksgiving is a great time to be there, since we were able to see them decorate the entire hotel--inside and out--the day after Thanksgiving and also attend the party they put on when the huge tree in the lobby is... Lovely place and lovely visit. We booked for a quiet mid-week. Our rooms were 'upgraded' due to the celebratory nature of our visit. The staff is very helpful. We enjoyed our spa experience and then enjoyed a bicycle ride on the wide hard-packed beach. The Jasmine Porch was very quiet, yet the service was impeccable and the meals were excellent.... More

The most relaxing vacation! The staff is attentive and the views are superb. It is a fabulous place to get away and there is an abundance of activities to do. We were able to play golf on beautiful courses and bike along wooded trails or we could lounge by the pool or enjoy the ocean.

We booked this reservation under AMEX FHR program. We came just after 4 pm and they told us our room would be available in 15 minutes and to please wait in the lobby. No complementary drinks nor shown to seats. The lobby was so packed due to the entertainment there we didn't get seats for over 40 minutes. Standing and... More

Stayed at the Sanctuary last week and the place is beautiful. The service was perfect and what you would expect from a nice property. I would highly recommend the restaurants on property. I was there for a meeting and every meal was perfect and that is not the norm. The spa is expensive but the services are good.

The Sanctuary is a beautiful hotel on Kiawah Island. Large and well appointed, luxurious rooms, numerous restaurants and shops. The staff was outstanding, very accomodating, gracious and most willing to answer any questions. Played three rounds of golf on three different courses with my senior golfer companions. Courses were in excellent condition even after hurricane Mathew a few weeks earlier,

While the lack of space is a frequent disadvantage with many hotels, this place is just the opposite. It looks quite small from the outside, but inside there is vast space, one feels almost lost in the endless, beautifully furnished halls. In spite of its enormous spaciousness the lobby is inviting and in the different halls there is different music... More

After a long week that ended with a meeting in Las Vegas for three days, flying back to the east coast late Saturday evening, I ended up at the Sanctuary for a three day board retreat on that Sunday afternoon, tired to say the least. Reflecting back on the stay, not only was it a productive retreat for our group,... More
