Our first stay at Hilton Head. Really happy that we chose the Hilton Garden Inn. The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. Some routine maintenance was ongoing when we arrived. The staff made it a non-issue for us - providing assistance when an elevator was temporarily unavailable. Housekeeping is attentive but not intrusive. Everyone has been friendly, service oriented, professional and welcoming.
Had a great 2 night stay! The staff members were all so nice! The lobby was very beautiful and I really enjoyed working from there. The patio furniture is really nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool last night and I loved the pool lounge chairs. The beds were comfortable. Every morning there was a massive coffee station with lots of creamer choices. For a standard hotel, this was a really great place. I enjoyed it very much!
I was not greeted at the front desk. My room, 319, was not ready at 4 pm. They hadn't even begun cleaning the room. The housekeeper had no idea when it would be ready. I was given another room, 227 which was not close to elevator. I had to ask for information about the sites on Hilton Head Island. On the website, breakfast was included with my reservations, however I was told it was not. Continental breakfast would be $9 per day per person. Hot breakfast would be $11 person. There was no hot breakfast on Monday and Thursday. I was offered coupons for the Continental breakfasts. Bed pillows were to soft. Needed firmer pillows. Chairs in room had an odor, which were on my clothes. We sprayed the chairs.
The bathroom needed a replacement bulb and not enough light in closet area. A/C system was difficult to maintain noise levels. The garbage collection was also not very appealing with boxes and bags left along hallway doors.
The first night the room smelled like old cigars, there were no towels and the tub had yellow water or pee in it, called front desk to be blown off and a couple if towels brought to my room. Worse stay i have ever had.
Accessible oversized room with sofa bed and additional tv. The bathroom was large, the two queens were comfortable, shade and blackout curtains worked manually, close to outlets 2, difficult to find if you’re coming from HHI due to signage being IN the bushes/trees. Check in girl was very nice and saw we were red from the beach and offered us bottled water and suggested beaches, another worker coming off the elevator was kind. Check-out guy was nice. More dated of Hilton Garden Inn (but we just stayed at a brand new one the weekend prior) and elevator was out of order. A lot of stairs at entry way. Breakfast costs extra, bar wines available in the evening (I’m assuming for purchase) and pantry with some items for purchase.
Nice hotel, clean & good service however where everywhere I’ve ever stayed has free breakfast but not this one. It’s 7.99 for hot food or 6.99 for cold food such as cereal, pastry or fruit. If not for that for that I’d give it 5 stars
Hotel is not on hilton head island. It's not close to the beach either. This is no frills and no amenities but it is clean and a convenient location. Breakfast is $9 so we never ate it but it looked ok. We stayed here last minute and they were able to accommodate us.
Hotel is older but overall the rating I give this is very good for our stay. We came with friends. Rooms were adequate, bathrooms not up to date but fully functional, clean. Pool area was exceptional, better than high end hotels I have stayed. Service and attentiveness was very good. General Manager Susanna was exceptional in addressing any concerns we had. It is about 13 miles from main beach, but wasn't a tremendous impairment. Parking garage convienient
Don't ever take for granted how you are welcomed into a Hotel, I had a previous experience that makes me appreciate the people at the Hilton Head Garden Inn. Sam was always ready with a smile and did whatever sh could to make your stay feel like you are visiting a friend. I can tell that they have had hard times, the bathtub had some patching that was not the best, but everything else was very pleasant. It is not on the Island itself, but so close that you learn to appreciate the drive over the bridge.
