In the coastal regions of South Carolina, there are 10's of 1000's of alligators and are great assets and wildlife balance. The alligator that hangs out in our lagoon has not injured or attacked any person for at least 10 years on record. The state of South Carolina provides specific General Statutes and laws regarding feeding or harassing alligators or turtles and these are the warning signs that are posted along our lagoon. Because our guest respect these signs and do not feed the alligator, it does not run up to people. In these cases throughout the island, aggressive alligators, the SC National Wildlife game warden will come and remove the alligator to repopulate in nature.
I hope this sheds some light on your question Valerie and many of our other future guests.

Hello, I apoligize about the delay. From the rooms, walk on the little road that leads back to the registration building. Turn left on that main street, walk a block or two, to the traffic circle, and turn right before the circle, go across the road, and keep going by the shops there, and there is an entrance to the beach. I takes about five minutes to walk to the breakfast room. I did not shop there, so don't know about that.
