AC by Marriott Greenville Downtown is truly a cosmopolitan hotel with a main street vibe. Brilliantly designed for those seeking a new way to live and experience the heartbeat of this city.

Pros: This is a lovely hotel. It is beautifully designed. Aesthetically very pleasing. Great location. Easily accessed self-parking (18 per day). Close to nice restaurants. The beds are comfortable as well as the linens. There are USB ports and outlets beside the bed. There is a useful small fridge. There are some small amenities kits like q tips/emery boards. Towels are ok. Bathroom is spacious and modern. Shower, even though I dislike waterfall was good. The staff is unfailingly polite, although at check out the staff person was not as friendly as we had come to expect. The breakfast (we booked the bed and breakfast rate) was excellent, one of the best hotel buffets I have had, with a large variety of foods, including cheeses and charcuterie, perhaps because of the European based businesses in the area.
Cons: The functionality of the hotel room was lacking. We were in room 233 and had constant loud traffic noise all day and into the evening. There is no overhead lighting in the bedroom. There are several lamps, but their light didn't illuminate as much as needed after the sun went down. The very modernly designed toilet's flush push button kept sticking and the toilet bowl needed to take a cue from the Toto self-cleaning surface. The holder for the hairdryer was coming out of the wall. There is maid service only every other day so if you are staying 2 nights you must call if you need extra coffee or cups (only one day supply is in the room to start), toilet tissue or an extra washcloth. There is a really small clothes storage area that is also right next to the iron and board. I just left the board and iron out so as not to have to crumple the clothes. There is a small coffee maker, but you must take it from next to your clothes to the desk to plug in. There is loud music played in the hotel in the hall on the floor to parking and in the breakfast area. The window seats in the breakfast area are uncomfortably low. One guest was observed taking a cushion from another chair and sitting on it. Again, the design is lovely but the function not so good.
So, it was a lovely hotel with a great breakfast and comfy beds but for the price we will not be back (we travel about 6 weeks a year, so we have stayed in many hotels).

This is a really nice, tastefully decorated hotel. I am not a fan of the cold, hard lines type of decorating, but I do know it is the "in thing" and very cosmopolitan and chic. I was very cold in my room because the floors are hardwoods and the furniture is vinyl, so there is very little warmth. I miss a little carpeting and some fabric on the sofa. Still, this is a very nice hotel and the staff is just wonderfully professional and nice. ALL of them. I don't like that none of the bars will bill anything to your room. I was told in the lobby bar and in the Juniper bar that they are completely separate from Marriott and could not bill to my room. That was not a deal breaker but it was disappointing. I also LOVED the workout room but would suggest some disinfectant or sanitizer for cleaning the equipment when you're through working out. I found an ample supply of towels, but no sanitizer. Great location and great staff will be what attracts people to this hotel.

This is a great location in downtown Greenville. Easy to walk to Falls park all restaurants, shops and bars. Valet service available, limited breakfast offered and nice bar with outdoor seating. Staff was nice but I asm over these large chains hiding behind Covid.
If a hotel cannot offer full services to paying guest then they should NOT be charging full room prices. According to hotel room cleaning can only be provided every other day, the lobby breakfast let the coffee run out in the self service many times. How hard is it to keep the coffee filled?
I know staff may not be fully to the numbers needed, fine, then stop charging top prices and reduce rates. Rooms are long and narrow, sounds from other rooms and hallways show you this is a cheaply build hotel. No storage in rooms and glass doors for bathroom doors provide no privacy or if used in middle of night the lights in bathroom brighten the entire room.
Overall the location is great, the rest make this a place I will not be back to stay.

My wife and I booked two weekday nights at this hotel because we wanted to be right downtown and not drive anywhere. It worked perfect and we never took my vehicle out of the hotel’s garage during the visit. Check in and all of the desk staff were excellent. We were on the fourth floor with a view of the plaza next to the building and the room was spotless and we like there was no carpet in the room. My wife is meticulous at times, and she could not even find a fingerprint anywhere. The room had a smart fridge refrigerator that kept our items perfectly cold and the room also had a safe. The second day in the morning we were going to go out and my wife tried to tell the housekeeping lady we would be out and she could make the room up. Either there was a translation problem or it was a policy not to service the room for a two day stay. The housekeeping lady handed my wife a set of towels, we handed her the trash cans and we made up the room ourselves. I should have called the front desk to ask about this but our room was still very clean and saw no need to go farther with it. We like the elevators required our room key to get to the floor we were on. Keeps outsiders and undesirables from going upstairs. Also, when we parked in the garage there were carts there to use to take our luggage to our room. This was the best hotel we have stayed in for maybe the past ten years and for the price we paid, even with the $7.00 parking fee was very reasonable. Coffee was available in our room and in the lobby during the morning but breakfast is additonal and is more European style, which we did not have. I would highly recommend it.

I really wanted to like this relatively new hotel in the Camperdown plaza.
The lobby is very nice as is the lounge. Then we got to our room…
The rooms have no carpeting, just cheap vinyl flooring over concrete. The bathroom was nice looking, but there were no options for lighting other than full-on, bright white. There was also no exhaust fan in the bathroom so it would get quite damp while showering.
The toiletries were all of decent quality, however the toilet paper was the exact opposite of anything you’d consider soft.
But the absolute worst thing were the beds. I can sleep almost anywhere, but these beds were the most awful I have ever had in a hotel room!
There is no box spring. The rock hard mattress sits on top of a cheap platform bed. I have had more comfortable sleeps on backpacking trips than on this bed.

Marriott is slipping with this property. I like the AC brand. But this hotel acts like it is still the pandemic. They lack a real restaurant. Sure, you can eat in the bar, and the food isn't bad, but it's still having to eat in the bar. Management is so inept that you can't charge to the room in the bar if you do eat there. Is that the end of the world? No, but a Holiday I'm can manage that, why can't this hotel?
Until they are really a full service hotel I won't give more than three stars.

This hotel is obviously a "one night" business pit stop. The room is long - like an egg carton. There are no drawers and the furniture is modular metal. There is one tiny rod to hang clothes on - next to the ironing board. There is one side chair and one couch. It's not set up for a couple spending a few days as tourists. The location is good - right across from the Peace Center and there is a trendy "after work" bar business on the lower level. The rooms are not cleaned or bussed, but you can pick up fresh towels at the front desk. We sure wouldn't go back to this hotel.

I’m a Marriott fan but this experience was sub par for what we expect (while the hotel charged a premium) and doesn’t align with the Marriott brand
2 of the 3 peloton bikes advertised on their website don’t work (one screen won’t connect to the internet, and one screen requires an activation key to use which the manager didn’t have; 2 bikes have broken pedal straps)
Housekeeping isn’t offered and we only found out by inquiring at the front desk. The front desk team initially offered to send towels but never arrived. We ended up picking up our own towels from the front desk which was inconvenient and didn’t seem very luxurious

The 7th floor room was located under a bar. The chairs across the floor screeching was awful. We called about it and they acted like this was no big deal at 11:30 at night. Never offered to move us and they were not full. That room should have been the last one offered. The room was lit up with a night light you couldn't turn off or cover up. And the noise from the road below was unbelievably loud as high as we were. We won't be back

Stayed 2 nights so we could bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail. This hotel is a great location for the trail and Reedy Falls. We had a room facing Main Street….would not recommend that because you can hear every loud car and all sorts of traffic. The walls in this hotel are paper thin but your room door is super heavy. Beds were comfortable, bathroom nice but no fan which made it difficult to see after a shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions in the area. Park in P1 as it has an elevator that takes you from the parking garage to your floor. Keep one hotel key when you leave as that is how you get in/out of the garage. We did not eat or drink in the hotel so I cannot comment on either. However we did sit in the swings outside with our own adult beverage. If you leave the hotel and walk down Main Street and go down the stairs you are basically at the falls which are beautiful. There are tons of restaurants and upscale stores to visit while in the area. We wanted to go up to the rooftop but were told it is only open staring on Thursday. I would stay here again if I come back to the area.
