I had to cancel my room on a big football weekend in Clemson because of unforeseen circumstances. I knew I was cancelling late and I would be charged a cancellation fee (only fair), but it was 3:00 day of and figured maybe they could cut me some break. I spoke with a woman who seemed to be the owner of the hotel who could find no record of my reservation at all which was nuts since I had made it 8 months before. She said she couldn't charge me the late cancellation fee because she didn't have my info anywhere about me so I probably shouldn't worry because it didn't go through. I had booked through Booking.com and they were charging me a $240 fee either way so she said to call them and have them call her and we could split the fee at $120 which I thought was fair since they would get some money and I would get some back. So I called Booking.com, they called the hotel and basically gave the hotel the info about me so that I could be charged and then against her word the hotel woman used the whole thing to charge me the full $240. There were no rooms set aside from me and I know the hotel was fully booked anyway because of the game. Long story short this is just not a nice way to do business especially in a small town like Clemson. I had stayed here once before, but will now be screaming from the hills to beware of this hotel to anyone I know visiting for a game or any other reason. This hotel is just interested in making a buck and cares nothing for their customers! I was lied to, ripped off and not even given a call back or anything. Not a nice way to do business. I plan to make sure to write I understand there needed to be a fee but some courtesy in a situation where I tried to give them some courtesy should be given back. Very dissatisfied and upset! I hope other Tiger fans note that this hotel will not bend for anything and are desperate enough for money that they can extend you no courtesy should there be any issues!

The motel has a dated look on the outside but very nice, comfortable and clean on the inside. Bathroom facilities were fine, comfortable king size bed, comfortable big chair, and a great TV. Nice folks in the office helped make it a great stay. Highly recommended!

I came in for the solar eclipse. The hotel is close to the university. The folks were very friendly. I decided to leave early, right after the eclipse, and fully expected to pay for the second night. They gave me a huge discount - basically didn't charge me for the second night. It's not a fancy place, but the people make it a value.

I was very concerned to come here due to the reviews I read (after I booked the motel). We checked in and our request for a first floor room had not been communicated. I was glad I brought my paperwork-even though the place was booked, the staff were able to give me the first floor I had requested due to mobility issues. They also just charged us the original amount of money even though our room was an upgrade. I was impressed with the professionalism and willingness to adjust, even though this was over the "eclipse" and everything was booked. No bugs, clean and nicely appointed room. I would come back again.

First room was literally filled with roaches everywhere, finally got switched to another room. No bugs in it but it was completely disgusting. Neither motel representative seemed to be able to speak clear english. Definitely not a place to stay with your family let alone by yourself regardless if it's for only 1 night or not. Go elsewhere and save yourself!!!!

Hello Anthony, We're sorry to hear your stay was not up to expectations. We get our rooms treated with bug spray every month to ensure bugs stay far away from all surfaces of our property. However, our contracted bug control company failed to show up the last two months including the time you were staying and we have taken action and signed with another company to ensure this problem was handled. Our main desk clerk had to take an absence of leave in order to attend to family matters and we were training a new representative during the time of your stay. We have addressed these issues and hope to re-win your business one day.

Room was dirty , as was bathroom and shower. Soiled toilet paper on floor behind toilet , dead roaches in floor. Holes in bathroom wall. Old , broken furniture. Pubic hairs in bed. Go elsewhere . This place is a dump.

I had booked two sets of two nights here (the first two with wife plus daughter, the second two, wife only- this confused them greatly), based on Internet description and photos (not this site). On arrival, we were all mortified. It's far more run down than the photos suggest. The location is not great either. It's not far from town, but it is out of the way in regards to other shops, facilities and amenities. My wife and daughter thought it was a hovel, and didn't want to stay there. To be fair, the room we looked at, although dated, maid appear to be clean. As we had not even unpacked our bags, I went and spoke to management and explained (as nicely as I could) my situation, and offered to pay for the first night. This was unacceptable to them. Note the the pricing for this period is way over normal rates, as they jack up the priced to a sickening degree over college "move in" weekend. I told them I thought this was poor form and unreasonable, but left anyway. The Tillman reshuffled rooms to squeeze us in at short notice, for a similar (haven't checked) rate but much much nicer rooms in a better location with better service. I would never stay at America's Best. And the name? What a joke. Should not be allowed to call it that. It gives America a bad name!

Hello Mark, Sorry your stay was not up to expectations. We are currently going through renovations to make this property more lively. We do understand the location may be somewhat hidden but it is very close to the highway and nearby popular restaurants and of course Clemson University. We also apologize for any confusion and misunderstandings that may have occurred during the transaction period. As you have mentioned, prices do tend to rise due on the demand, this also applies to the other hotels/motels in the area. We will put in hard work to further improve the property and customer service. Thank you, Anil Manager

This hotel was a no-frills hotel located within close driving distance of Clemson University. The property was in average condition. The furniture and carpet was worn but reasonably well maintained. The check-in process was OK. I haven't been to a hotel in years where you filled in an old-fashioned checkin card, though. If you are looking for something fancy then this isn't the place for you. If you want good value in a pretty good location, then this is it.

I have stayed here a few years before when the motel was known as Clemson Suites, wasn't the best experience but over the years there was a change in management. I came back to give it another try after hearing that there was a change in franchise and everything was GREAT! - Office was nice and clean, got my room quickly with ease. - Service was friendly, professional, and was very supportive when I needed directions. - Area around it is becoming more industrialized with restaurants and grocery stores near by. - Hotel was repainted to suit it's franchise. - Rooms were clean, updated, and odorless. - FREE WIFI Overall stay was AWESOME for the price. I recommend Americas Best Inns in Clemson, to anyone whom is looking for a GREAT place to stay for the lowest price in town!

I have visited Clemson twice this year during the Football season and stayed here on both occasions. Looking at the reviews I wasn't sure about the place but somebody mentioned that there has been a change in management, so I gave it a shot. And was not disappointed at all! The rooms were nice and clean, at a low cost. It certainly enhanced my Clemson experience on both occasions. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
