1843 Battery Carriage House Inn Bed & Breakfast is exactly what the name represents. Nestled between the main house (private) and the attached neighbors, sits a lovely two story building hidden in the back. Very serene with a little area to enjoy your breakfast or reading morning paper. The room I stayed in was wonderful. As a side note, inquire...

We stayed one night in this ideal location in Charleston. Initially had a downstairs room, but it had a musty smell to it...front desk was very understanding and moved us to a second floor room which was much better. It would be a plus if the hotel would add bikes for its patrons.

We stayed here about 5 years ago and it seemed run down this time. Our room smelled so bad that we moved into another room the next night. Breakfast is only bagels and cereal. For $300 per night, not what I would expect. It has the history and character, just needs a lot of TLC to be worth the stay.

If you visit Charleston you HAVE to stay here! It is a little peace of heaven! From the house and gardens to the amazing staff, I decided I wanted to move in permanently! We were served a lovely breakfast of our choice and watched the early strollers. The Battery was across the street so it was so peaceful to watch...

were wonderful1 i recently met up with an old friend in charleston, i had stayed at the carriage house, with great pleasure, 20 years ago on a visit with my daughter and decided to try it again for this visit to charleston. The magic is still there, maybe better because of the attentive, care-ful, personable staff that was even more...

Wife and I spent the weekend here and was a great stay. Great location on the Battery. Stayed in room 3, had a setting area king bed and nice jaccuzi/shower. No view from this room, you'll want to stay upstairs for that. Breakfest was brought to our room each morning at a time of our choice. The people we encountered...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in 2011 and were eager to visit again. The staff was friendly, as always, and the wine/cheese and breakfast were fine. The biggest issue we had was the lack of maintenance. The bed was flimsy and actually broke and they was water dripping from the heat lamp in the shower (lots...

I can't say enough great things about the Battery Carriage House Inn. The first time I came here was with my sister back in 2011. I have come back every year since. Firstly, you are staying on a historic as well as beautiful property. The room are cozy and very comfortable. My favorite rooms are the ones in the front...

If you don't care about having a cooked breakfast, this place is a winner. Lovely rooms, friendly hosts, and the most perfect location you can imagine. Staying in the rear in the carriage house meant quiet nights. Morning coffee and light breakfast on the patio in back, wonderful. Felt right at home, and would happily go back. The staff there...

We stayed here for our wedding! Got married in the beautiful gazebo in the park across the street. This is a beautiful city, a wonderful, attentive b&b! Great food, historical walking tours and so much more! One of our favorite places in the world!
