This place is very clean, and has an excellent room to hang out in adjacent to the bar. Fireplace, television, easy chairs, and wood paneling all make this a comfortable, lodge like atmosphere. The staff are very professional, and it is a Marriott property, so you can use your rewards points.

We stayed for 3 nights in Nov. Very nice hotel with old charm. Their staffs were very nice and friendly. The location was perfect. Close to everything. We ate breakfast at Christophe Artisan which was across the street from the hotel. I enjoyed my visit to the SC aquarium. It was only a 20 min walk away. Can't wait to...

This hotel was almost faultless. It's in a great location very close to the market. Rooms are a great size with very comfortable beds. They have a good gym with a rooftop pool. My only critisism is of the staff that checked us in. They were very starchy and I felt as if they didn't think we 'belonged' there. This...

The Renaissance (owned by Marriott) is an upscale property. The rooms are spacious enough, and the beds are awesome. Bathroom has more counter space than many, though not a lot of extra room. It is walking distance to pretty much everything downtown, so a good place to stay if you want to explore the historic downtown area. Room service food...

The hotel was tucked into Wentworth, off King Street. Easy walking distance to practically everything. Plus, there are bikes one can borrow to cruise around town (great idea this). The room was a good size, modest bath but amenities could be improved. Lacked good lighting in the bathroom. No bedroom slippers available (even upon request) and no business supplies provided...

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm excited to hear that you enjoyed the location and the hotel's bikes ... but I'm disappointed to hear that you didn't love the service. My wife and I spent a weekend in Charleston at the Renaissance. If the Renaissance is intended to be an upscale line within the Marriott hotel group, this was not a good example of the brand. We have stayed at Renaissance hotels in Chicago, DC, and several other cities. This hotel is not up to the Renaissance name. The lobby...

The location is great and the staff are very attentive. The rooms are typical Marriott quality and very clean. They are somewhat smaller than other Renaissance hotel rooms but very good. This is very close to all the attractions.

Booked a two night stay with my family (4 adults) and reserved two beds for our stay. We arrived about two hours prior to check in figuring we could park the car, leave our luggage with the bell stand and explore the city. When we arrived we were advised that they only had a King and a pullout sofa available...

Not the newest hotel but lots of character and lovely ambiance. Stayed to attend a meeting. Waited a long time for our room but got a nice upgrade to a room with a balcony with two wrought iron chairs...tiny but lovely to let in the fresh air. Room had great desk and chair and a small fridge. Everything was clean...

Stayed at hotel in October- very nice accomodations and friendly staff. Breakfast in dining room was excellent. Drawback was no free Wifi in rooms even for Rewards members. What is puzzling is free Wifi on first floor where a non revenue person can come in as use whenever. This will stop me from returning as other hotels that don't have...
