The Wentworth Mansion is an historic inn of great beauty and charm located in a residential neighborhood about a 10-minute taxi ride from downtown Charleston. We were pleasantly surprised to find it exceeded its 5-star reputation. Our room, Suite 9, was opulent--a lovely sunroom, a study, a huge bathroom with walk-in shower, a working fireplace, and an enormous bed dressed...

This is our first trip for a long weekend to Charleston. If you are looking for warmth, attention to you, attention to detail, a classic Southern mansion, a great bed, great location, very quiet night, and great food and shopping close by Wentworth Mansion is the answer. Dillon our greeter and Butler our initial concierge were very helpful. All the...

After a refreshing stay at The Restoration, I ventured a few blocks west on Wentworth St. for a 2 night stay at Wentworth Mansion. Highly rated by TripAdvisor, this was a lovely place with historic luxury, elegance, and exemplary service. From the street, it's hard to imagine this massive building was built as a single family home in 1865 for...

Beautiful and charming place to stay. I felt like I was staying in a room from Downton Abbey. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were gorgeous. I highly recommend for couples...but I'd leave the kiddos at home. The restaurant just out back called Circa 1886 was a little too fancy for my taste but the Elvis Fluffernutter desert should...

It's hard to add anything new to what has already posted so I won't try. Simply wanted to second all the others that have found Wentworth Mansion an absolute gem. Certainly the physical facilities are first rate but it's the Wentworth staff that makes the place truly special. In the end it's always about the people and the Wentworth staff's...

We can't begin to tell you how impressed we were with this gem of the south! It begins with excellent service, immaculate rooms and superb attention to fine details. Fresh flowers in the room and hot showers are a must to mention. Turndown service with fresh ice, signature benne wafers and handmade chocolates was an unexpected highlight. You are greeted...

We had a wonderful stay at Wentworth Mansion. The service is outstanding, from the concierge and bell staff, to the housekeepers, to the restaurant and spa personnel -- friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The mansion itself is beautifully restored, particularly the woodwork, glass and tile, and the furnishings and decorations are as beautiful as the building. The public rooms in...

On a whim my wife and I spent a couple of nights here recently. I had heard many things about the place, but you have to stay there to experience it. The rooms are rather large - probably 15' ceilings if not higher. The rooms are furnished nicely, but it's hard to fill so much space, especially when most of...

We own an inn ourselves so, while we aren't hard to please, we do know what to look for and not look for being in the industry. We stayed in the parlor suite on the main floor (I think it is called the Grand Mansion Suite). It is so gorgeous and worth every dime. It was for entertaining initially when...
