The people at the John Rutledge House Inn were terrific from the concierge(s) Jim, Mike and Cici to the innkeeper Kathy. Service the old fashioned way; relaxed, courteous and helpful. Everyone there knew it was our anniversary celebration and we felt taken care of. Will...More
We were probably greeted by the concierge who is extremely kind and extremely knowledgeable of the city. After a brief lesson on the hotel we made our way to the stunning room, The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever laid in...More

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted to be your hotel of choice on your visits to Charleston. I am happy to read that you loved the Tempur-Pedic beds; they make for a fantastic nights sleep while away from home. We look forward...More
We visited for 3 days/2 nights to celebrate a 65th birthday. Outstanding staff/service. Great breakfast, we ate in-room rather than in the ball room or on the patio. Our package had lots of extras, roundtrip rickshaw to dinner one night, welcome flowers, chocolate covered strawberries,...More
We had a splendid room in the Carriage House. We made a special request before our arrival and Zack handled it perfectly. The other staff were very friendly and helpful too. Our only regret: we only stayed one night. Wish it was more.

The Inn, the staff, the room, the breakfast, the teatime in the ballroom were all exceptional! We had such a wonderful experience. And it was family friendly. They were very welcoming to our girls 8 and 11 years old. Great great place to stay.

We stayed in one of the two carriage houses behind the main building, and on the top floor. There were two king ( I believe) with tempurpedic mattresses. Note that there are no elevators in the carriage when you reserve. Also, our room did not have a walk-in shower but rather a tub/shower combo. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. I do not know which rooms in the main house have two beds. I think you will be very pleased with this inn. The service is top notch.
