My wife and I stayed here for two nights on a trip up the coast to visit my family in North Carolina. We stayed in room 3. Positives: --Friendly owner (was there for breakfast, very personable) --Good location (close to several nice restaurants and a short walk from several of the main streets in downtown) --Off-street parking Negatives: --bathroom was... We stayed at the Ashley Inn for 4 nights on our first visit to Charleston, SC and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Ashley Inn is awesome! We LOVED the breakfast. It was included so we expected something small and just edible enough to hold us over but the breakfast included big, delicious meals like peaches and cream crepes, fresh fruit... More

We had been to Charleston before and stayed in a large hotel- this time around we wanted something more typically Southern and charming. The Ashley Inn was a great choice.. Adorable rooms with verandas, a delicious breakfast (we had banana rum French toast with sausage and fruit), convenient parking, good location (a 5 minute Uber ride to the Market area... More

I stayed at the Inn over the weekend.I chose it from the accommodation I researched on the Internet in the UK. The Inn is located off the central area but is easily walkable to King Street and down town. The accommodation Room 1 on the ground floor is tastefully furnished and has a TV and overhead fan.Coffee is available 24/7... More

I had the small room, which was charming. However, while overall clean, there was dust in the corners. Also, the air conditioning is controlled from one room for the whole floor, and for me it was set at a much too low temperature with no possibility to change it. Breakfasts were nice, served outside on the piazza weather permitting. The... More

This is a charming place to stay... you feel like you are staying in a Charleston home from another time. The welcome was warm and the room lovely. We had room 1 which is next to the kitchen, so you won't get a lie-in, but it does mean you won't miss the delicious breakfast that's served on the verandah. It... More

I loved this inn from the moment I checked in. Janelle greeted me and gave me an overview of Charleston, then saw me to me room. It was their smaller room, but was charming and lacked for nothing. There was even a TV hidden in a cabinet. Breakfasts were delicious and offered a taste of southern cooking served outside on... More

We stayed at the Ashley Inn, downtown Charleston as it was only a few blocks from our daughters home. The location was great, very central, and included parking which is "huge" in Charleston. The room was very spacious and clean. I would recommend requesting an upstairs room as room #1 was noisy in the morning since it is next to... More

Charming 1830 home that is now a fully appointed Bed & Breakfast. Janelle and her staff did an outstanding job providing hospitality and a comfortable homey atmosphere in the center of Charleston. Next time I'm in Charleston I will be staying at the Ashley Inn again.

I'll list pros first: breakfast was delicious! It was available at the last minute. Beautiful old home Cons: home was not as clean as it should be - carpeting on stairs need vacuuming, had to ask for sheets to be replaced but they did not replace them!; sofa in suite was extremely stained and should have been replaced; basebaords and...
