This was a work trip overnighter. It was a short walk to the airport. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk for 10 minutes. The security guard was sitting on the sofa. He walked around to find someone to help us. I was assigned room 447. When I walked in I could smell a strong musty odor. I strayed some bath n body works spray and went to bed. When I woke up the next day I was washing my face so that I can go down for breakfast. A flying insect was on the mirror. I killed him and thought that was that. I went downstairs and to my surprise that actually had turkey sausage, real eggs and oat milk. The down side is there were flying bugs which appeared to be gnats flying around. When I got back to my room there was a horrible smell. It smelled like raw sewage and more bugs flying around. The large pubic hair in the shower, the mysterious hair on the bath towel and the iron cover says it all.

Hotel's Favourite
We were meeting our family for an early flight and so decided to stay near the airport and take advantage of their park n fly benefit. You have to book through the Marriott, but it is a great offering. This isn’t the fanciest of hotels, but the people who work here couldn’t be any nicer. The night we checked in, the shuttle took us to dinner and picked us up when done. This we didn’t expect. The shuttle service to and from the airport was effortless. We would do this again absolutely. The JetBlue flights were less expensive than flying out of Boston and TFGreen is easy and very nice.

If you were thinking of booking this hotel...DON'T DO IT. DON'T DO IT. DO NOT DO IT. Booked this hotel for two nights as a last resort. Upon arrival the original room we were given had not been cleaned. Ok, head back down to the front desk for a new room. Was given a new room and then walked upstairs by what seemed to be "person in charge" to make sure there was no problems with our new room. Nope, all looked fine. First night goes by without any incident. Get up on day two and head out for the majority of the day. Come back to the hotel around 6pm, key card to the room doesn't work. Ok, this is the second time this happened during our stay. Go to front desk to get it taken care of. The same three people are working the front desk that were the prior night, including "the person in charge". Tell them my issue and my room number, when the response from all three are "ohhhh, she's in room 252!!, I knew this wasn't going to go well. Because of the incompetence of the hotel staff and their inability to use a computer, they did not record the move from our original dirty room to room 252. Therefore, they had no idea who was in room 252 and MOVED ALL OUR BELONGINGS FROM THE ROOM into plastic garbage bags behind the front desk. We were then given a new room and were told that all the items were in the bags. WRONG. A bag full of brand new items were never returned and when I once again made another trip to the front desk to tell them this, they couldn't find it either. What is most upsetting about the situation as I HAVE YET TO BE CONTACTED BY ANYONE FROM THE HOTEL to discuss this situation or be issued an apology even though they have my contact information. Marriott customer service is no help either. I am disgusted beyond words by this hotel. Its also incredibly dirty, old and rundown. The breakfast area was never cleaned, tables were always dirty. Do yourself a favor and go stay somewhere else, anywhere else.

This Marriott facility is singularly the most GRUESOME and the WORST I have ever experienced - and I have been a loyal (lifetime Titanium) Marriott patron for over fifty years! Upon arrival at 9:30 pm, planning on a short, but peaceful, sleep before a 6 am departure from PVD, we find hundreds of teen and pre teen girls and their chaperones running around the public space, screaming, eating and "bonding" during a weekend Indigenous Peoples weekend hockey tournament. After having to literally ask adults who (for quite understandable reason) are headed to alcohol delirium to move away from the reception desk so we could check in, we were told that the Fairfield had no record of our reservation and that there are no rooms. Being insistent, I got the young desk agent to enter my reservation confirmation number, and she reluctantly acknowledged that we indeed had a confirmed room and issued a key card. We chose this facility because it advertises as being attached to PVD airport. Unfortunately, as it turns out, this absolutely gross misrepresentation may be true semantically but this facility is "attached" only by walking outside through two garages up and down steps to get to baggage claim where you actually enter the airport. REALLY?? In all my many years of business and personal travel, a hotel that advertises being part of an airport means that you walk through a terminal (or take mobile transport) directly into the hotel. It is easy to speculate why this Fairfield Inn does not explain its unique claim to be part of PVD; if it did, there would be no reason to book there. Having negotiated the check in, we headed to our room. The hotel is REALLY OLD AND DECREPIT. Turns out it was built in 1985, 37 years ago and claims to have been rehabbed 11 years ago. Well, the 2011 renovation did not include the elevators. There are two elevators, one at each far end of the building for 202 rooms! Elevators are clearly beyond end of life and with all of the kids running around, filthy, as was the rest of the hotel. Candy wrappers, discarded pizza, popcorn all over the place. When we got to our floor : surprise - kids running the halls. Finally, we get to the room. The room was filthy. Stained carpet. Mold in shower, and burned out light bulbs probably not replaced in order to hide how horrible to room was. Scraped paint. Just disgusting. Marriott's franchise department should cancel this facility immediately.

We had difficulty with the stocking of our room. We had to ask multiple times for coffee, cups, towels and soap. We had three people in our room with two towels. I ended up going to the breakfast area to get coffee cups and purchasing our own soap. Our last day we finally received a full size bar of soap that looked like it was in the back of a cabinet for weeks. The maid on our floor didn’t speak English and had no towels, coffee or soap on her cart. The breakfast bar had no protein unless you took apart the biscuit muffins every day we were there. This property had terrible breakfast options and getting items that were supposed to be in our room was a struggle. Checking out was also a problem. One person at the desk with six people waiting. Definitely substandard for a Marriott chain.

The little invested in this property has been focused on lobby area and hallways. Its conveniently near the airport and a shuttle is available. I would however, recommend a different hotel and avoiding this one if you like a clean room. Black Curlies all over the shower and bathroom floor. Wall to wall carpet designed with busy pattern to disguise dirt alerts you to wear shoes at all times, especially after being the lack of attention to detail in the bathroom. Ridiculous bathroom door opens inward right on top of the toilet. Not enough room to push it towards the shower, so you constantly have to open or close it fully. If the hotel hadn't limited itself to just put lipstick on a pig as 'renovations" they would have addressed one of the many options for door replacements Lots of failures for basic hygiene throughout the room, including bad odors. Upon entering for example, there room had a strong odor of old sweat. This is more disguised in the hallway, with a cheap perfume like chemical air deodorizer. Iffy wifi- decent bed comfort, poor tv size and options. No environmental/ recycling attempts in the least. Strange room layout with sink outside the bathroom. Paper thin walls, with unrequested adjacent room. Loud hallway noises-poor poor room insulation and outdated air conditioning systems

BED BUGS! I am a 20 year Marriott Rewards member and stay at all levels of the franchise. Regretfully, this location had bedbugs during my July 9, 2022 stay. Upon sharing this with the front desk manager (and showing him the bites all over my legs), I was assured there would be a credit to my account for the points used. Two weeks later (July 26) I received an email from the hotel manager, Brian Carlson, telling me that the Ecolab report showed no bedbugs and that I would NOT be receiving a credit. Shameful and insulting response from Marriott and all I can do at this point is warn others.

This is a mixed review. Clear 5 to the staff working the front desk. This is the kind of welcome you would expect from a luxury property. Keep that work up. Definite 2 on the rooms - they are not top notch (a bit dated) and I don’t know what to do with body lotion in the shower, shampoo would have been nice but nowhere to be found. Breakfast is a 1. Crammed quarters to begin with. The oatmeal would be great for wallpapering. The rest of the selection subpar. But the breakfast is “free” and as they say you get what you pay for

I reserved a King suite, 1 sofa bed room several months in advance. When I arrived and checked in, the front desk gave me a room key and directed me to my room. Once I got to the room, I immediately called the front desk and told them this was not the room type I reserved and that it was a regular room and definitely not a suite. The front desk person initially told me that it was a suite as if I have no intelligence. Then she changed her story and said no suites were available and that she would refund me $50. I said that’s not acceptable and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor gets on the phone and says there’s nothing she can do and that there’s no suites available even though I reserved it several months ago. She then says it’s not their fault that it’s Corporate’s fault for booking too many people and that they didn’t give my room away. She then offered to deduct one night stay from my bill. Poor customer experience. I will never book at this hotel again and will warn as many people as I can to avoid this place.

We are Marriott loyalists and have stayed in many Fairfields. This one is generally fine with a couple pluses, yet also a notable weakness as noted below. The decision to stay there rests with convenience, and Marriott brands limited footprint near PVD. Pro's: - The usual Fairfield freebies: breakfast, wifi, parking. - Truly walking distance to the airport. There's a cut through parking garage A that means you can get to/from the airport in less than a 5 minute walk, under cover. - Staff was pleasant. - Didn't use it, yet there's a hotel shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius. Weakness: - Cleanliness of public spaces could be better. Entire reason we didn't rate this 4 stars. - As a high traffic property, it shows a bit of wear and tear. Maintenance does not seem to keep pace. Nothing too severe...just bumps, scrapes, and that sort of thing. We have business here once or twice a year. Open to a return for brief visits just for the convenience.
