Great location across from ocean and beautiful view, however, the bed lacked a blanket, the a/c did not keep the room cool, and the walls are very thin. I was awoken when our neighbor made a phone call at 4:30 am. The breakfast was very disappointing and lacking and there was no place to sit and eat it. It was raining at the time so we did not want to sit outside. Also, to "fix" the breakfast required being in very close contact with other guests, touching each other's utensils, etc. It did not feel comfortable. I wish I had stayed somewhere with less of a view, but a more comfortable room.

I am not that picky but my room, #116 was exceptionally old and ugly , smelled strongly of cigarettes, bed was old and uncomfortable and sheets and comforter were just gross. We brought in a big beach towel and blanket from the car to replace the worn and gross looking comforter. And I'm not that picky. However, you can not beat the location - right across the street from the beautiful ocean. So, I would say ultimately say its probably worth the $200 plus a night price tag. Unless you can find another place near by for comparable - then go with that one. Tip - bring your own bedding and a nice smelling candle!

I booked a room with a partial ocean view and what I got was a full view of the parking lot on ground floor next to the entrance so no privacy at ALL! The room was the size of a closet. Very dated and very uncomfortable bed. Breakfast? Mini muffins and bagged bagels. Not individually wrapped not very hygienic at all. Upon check in they only had us booked for one night but that did get straightened out. There were no other rooms available so we were stuck. I filled out the survey and was told that manager would call me on Monday. I am writing this review on Thursday since I gave enough time to hear from him. I paid a great deal of money for a lousy room. Never again and wish I could get a partial refund since it was not what I had booked. Renters beware!

For the price, the hotel is fabulous. Sure, the carpets are kind of musty, but that's what happened when you're this close to the ocean. (The are old, too) But really, when you hear the price of your room, if you haven't called all the other hotels in the neighborhood, you won't understand that it's a good deal, and some of the others have even older carpets. I've stayed here twice this past spring and both times had the rooms with a corner view of the ocean. When on the bottom floor, I had a view of a bush, parking lot with cars and then the ocean beyond. The second time, I was directly over that earlier room, so there was a better view due to being higher. Both times, I was happy to be able to see the ocean at all and really loved sitting on the elevated shared porch that faces the ocean. I had a wine with my sister on it one night and had our breakfast on it each morning. Some people commented about the skimpy breakfast, and I viewed it as just a convenience because there are great, affordable cafes within walking distance. You can go enjoy them or pick up a pastry and coffee and have them at the cute little places on Boon Street or Cool Bean down the road or bring them to enjoy the Atlantic's Oceanview porch, or walk to the wall and be even closer to the ocean. If you are trying to economize and only want what the Atlantic offers, I think there always are bagels and they had a tub of cream cheese, jelly and butter, and also little corn muffins or donuts or something. In any case, I loved my 2 different stays here this past spring and found the people to be very nice. This location is great and although it's not cheap, this is Narragansett -on-the -ocean is a good deal compared to the other places in town. Nice people, too. I stayed here in May and June 2021. Oh, and I thought the guy who complained that the soap was round and hard to hold and he dropped it was too funny. I managed to hold onto the soap while showering LOL

I absolutely loved this hotel. One king bed, ocean view suite on the second floor, was amazing! Spacious, clean, comfortable and decorated so nicely. There was also a separate sitting room with a couch, chair, and table with huge windows giving us the most amazing view of the ocean. Small touches like a vase of flowers on the table, night time reading lights on the headboard of the bed, and pretty pictures on the wall really added to the cozy and homelike feel. A small balcony with two chairs and a table was perfect for drinking my morning coffee and my evening cocktails. Free breakfast (coffee, juice, bagels, cereal) was available and was a nice start to the day. Coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave were great to have in the room. Some cosmetic updates could be made, but no big deal. Short walk to beach and pier shops. All staff we came in contact with were very pleasant. I would most definitely stay here again.

I brought my husband here from Connecticut for his 40th birthday. The hotel had an odor. The king size bed was hard as a rock. The "private balcony" was the size of a closet. Checked in at 3pm. Checked out at 3:45pm. The manager refused to refund even half of the cost stating he offered another room. The room was 2 queen size beds which is not what we wanted therefore we declined. Had to leave and spend more money on another hotel room. The manager is rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate of others. His responses to his negative reviews are very inappropriate.

We needed a place for two nights so that we could visit our grandson. We chose the Atlantic House for its convenience & not so terrible price. However, I never expected to be put in a motel-like tiny room in the back or the main house. It was the ugliest room I have ever been in. Small & dingy, I looked around to see if anything was crawling about. The bed was as hard as a rock & having recently had hip replacement, well you can imagine trying to sleep on it.
IMPOSSIBLE. I was in horrible pain all day. In addition to all this, breakfast was made up of tiny frozen muffins and coffee. Plus no one told us there would be no maid service unless specifically requested. Never again!!!!

The cleaning staff stole from us and the front desk people covered it up despite photographic evidence of the items taken from the room. Front desk lady was extremely rude in phone calls and in person. They also pressured us into checking in earlier than their normal check-in so that the manager could go home early.

I am here now and like it a lot. It’s right across the street from the ocean with a nice green lawn in front of it. There is a second floor deck open to all guests that has a magnificent view, tables and chairs, and would be a great place to bring a take out dinner.

It’s a three star hotel and the rooms are simple, But perfectly clean and comfortable. So far it’s been very quiet.

Stayed at the Atlantic House for a night and the hotel lived up to its 2-star rating. It’s clear that the owners have put zero money into updating this hotel. From the room furnishings to the uncomfortable beds, the experience was 2-star ish. Only good part is location. That’s it. I’m not sure what hotel these 5-star reviews were staying at but it wasn’t this one.

They gave me a "tag" to put on my car for parking. I am not sure if they have a limit on cars per room.

is this in walking distance to the block island ferry?

It's about 5 to 6 miles from the hotel to the Ferry.
Answer from Erica T
Milford, CT46 contributions9 helpful votes
Gorgeous views of the water right across the street, however the main city beach access is about 1/2 mile walk. We brought a wagon to carry our beach stuff & that helped. You can easily walk to several nearby restaurant/bars that are popular.Hotel provides a list of area restaurants/take-out. It's in great location for Narragansett where you'll either do a lot of walking or need to drive. Unadvertised, they have coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, pastries, etc. available for guests in the morning.
Eva R asked a question Jul 2016
Charge for canceling?
Answer from paulinarc2
Narragansett, Rhode Island7 contributions2 helpful votes
Yes, we charge if you do not cancel seven days in advances. We are a beach area and we turn many down (we have 28 rooms) once full. Anything before the 7 days we refund your one night stay and if after we keep the one-night deposit. In an emergency, we do take faxes of proof of emergency and will refund.
