My first time visiting Narragansett and was thinking Aqua Blue would be the perfect hotel. First let me say Aqua Blue is in the perfect location. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. There is also a hotel deck which overlooks the water which is great to catch a sunrise/sunset.

Otherwise our stay was not pleasant. There is no AC throughout the hotel (only in rooms). The desk attendants are very adamant about no early check in due to taking extra cleaning measures (which is great). But this entire hotel looks like is hasn’t been “deep” cleaned in years. Our room still had dirt & hair all over the shower curtain. Piles of hair in corners of the bathroom, elevators that are disgusting, just little things that did not reassure us that this so called “deep clean” was actually being done.
The pool is also indoor, and is uncomfortable to sit in during summer months. Since it is hotter in the pool area than it is outside. As for the rate and value of this hotel, it is not worth it. I paid a lot of money to stay at Aqua Blue and feel I would’ve been much more comfortable somewhere else.

I do not recommend staying here and would not stay at Aqua Blue again. If you are looking to visit Narragansett I would look somewhere else. It is a beautiful area so stay somewhere that enhances its beauty!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate all feedback. I would like to address some of the items you discussed. We do have central heat and a/c in common areas as well as units in each individual room. The rooms do go through a sanitizing and cleaning process between each guest, and we are not able to allow any early arrivals or late departures, due to COVID guidelines. We also have a full sanitizing done by Clean Rite monthly for all rooms in the property. All common areas are cleaned throughout the day, daily. I do apologize for the temperature in the pool area, we are in the process of upgrading the ventilation system, but all current systems are up to code. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.

Is this hotel over-priced? Absolutely. Is it a bit tired? Yup. Does it have an amazing location? Hell yes. And this is what you are paying for.

Located across the street from Naragansett Town Beach, this hotel makes it easy to enjoy the town. You can walk to tons of places and the beach is a 2 minute walk.

So here's my experience: every single hotel staff person I interacted with were professional and helpful. We got there around 11am but could not check in until 3 but the front desk folks give us a car pass so we could use their lot until we were able to check in. If you've ever been to Naragansett on a summer weekend you will understand how helpful this is. They also let us keep the car in the lot after we checked out as well.
The common areas of the hotel were clean. Our room was clean. The roof deck is super nice with great views of the ocean. We had a ridiculous amount of fresh clean towels in our bathrooms (more than we needed) and the water pressure in the showers was very very good.
There were signs of disarray for sure; some loud construction noise from somewhere in the building at 7:30am, some areas closed because of the work taking place. A few rough spots on the exterior of the building but overall, I think quite a few of the reviews of this place seems a bit histrionic.

If you find a rate that seems to be reasonable to you and your main goal is to hit the beach I can recommend this place. If you are expecting a high-end experience with a state of the art building I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I was very nervous to stay here with all the one star poor reviews. The hotel has alot of positives going for it. It is in a great location and mostly walking distance to everyrhing, free parking at hotel , rooms are spacious , lobby appears renovated and clean, staff friendly . Was the wait time a little long to check in right at 3? yes it was but over the last year I have gotten used to things taking a bit longer due to covid and short staffing. I saw alot of people complaining there is no early check in option but with this hotel appearing rather busy and at capacity and tryin to manage cleaning rooms for guests checking out as well and guests currently staying there I can see why rooms are not ready to check in early. I am
not super picky but did unfortuantely find that the carpets were a bit dirty, rooms outdated, and were given stained towels. It’s a shame because this hotel
has so much potential to be 5 stars but it is really in need of some renovation. Even though rooms are in poor shape they werent near as bad as others have made them sound and for a lesser price I would probably stay here again but wouldn’t consider payin the price I paid again until this hotel has been updated.

booked Aqua Blu back in February. I was nervous seeing some of the reviews from July but our stay was awesome! I called the hotel directly to book because I needed joining rooms, microwave and extra towels. We had 4 kids and 4 adults. I called a week ahead of time to verify and they were awesome with all my questions.
So yes the pool is open, hot tub area open and warm as well, the rooms were clean, updated bathrooms were nice, balconies were cute. The Hotel Deck was great for family pizza night with lots of furniture. Yes breakfast is still closed but they have hot coffee and grab and go items available, just ask! No it’s not a continental breakfast but most hotels during this time just have a small grab and go in RI, CT and MA. It’s a 5 min walk to the beach.
The kids review was this : 4.5 stars, rooms smell nice, nice beds, great view, nice AC, good pool and the toilet was hard to flush at first 😂. But they loved it as well

What we didn’t like was the $12/adult beach price. When you go be prepared to pay each day unless you go before 830 am.

No you cannot check in early but the state still requires 4 hours between guests and they need to clean and sanitize
We would definitely go back

I don’t know where to begin. We arrived around 2:30 hoping to be able to check in. We had 2 rooms reserved. The ladies at the front desk were extremely unfriendly and said the they have to wait for the all clear from the staff that were sanitizing the rooms due to COVID before they begin check ins. I respect that. So we waited in the lobby. Other people were waiting for a much longer time since noon and many guests started arriving. They were given similar story. I checked few times with the front desk till 3:45 and we were still waiting. Then suddenly they started checking people without announcing and we ended up waiting at the of the line of many that came after us.

The room was bare and had few furniture items. The coffee machine was on top of the small fridge. Furniture was flimsy. Weather was cold. The sheets were thin and they didn’t provide extra blanket even when we asked for one saying that they sold out and out. There was no safe in the rooms.

Bathroom was tiny. The walls were thin and you can practically hear everything in the hallways and neighboring rooms. Uncomfortable beds and really bad pillows. I had a stiff neck.

Room cleaning service is offered on demand not by default.

The main reason for staying at this hotel is that it is across the street from Narragansett beach. We had 3 nights reserved and after we spent the first 2 nights, we went to the beach. The hotel called us in the middle of the day saying that they need us to come get our luggage and check out as we exceeded our stay! They had a mix up with Expedia. We showed the booking but they wouldn’t budge. We had to scramble, and pack and cut our vacation short!

I wish I can give zero star. But, 1 star is the minimum which probably can go for the location, but nothing else.

Highly DO NOT recommend this hotel!

Let me start by saying the location of this hotel is perfect. Its surrounded by amazing restaurants and plenty of things to do, even if you get a rainy/windy weekend like we did!

I booked this hotel for a Mommy/Daddy getaway weekend. We live locally so I was looking for something close, with an indoor pool and Jacuzzi for some relaxation and quiet time for a couple of days. When we pulled into the parking lot and saw the large dumpster, our first thought was "oh no" and we were right.

Talia checked us in, and she couldn't have been nicer or more friendly. When we asked about the pool hours she informed us that the pool/Jacuzzi was currently closed due to the renovations. UGH! We then asked if we could upgrade to the rooms that have the larger Jacuzzi tub and were then told that they were located on the third floor which was also closed in its entirety due to the renovations.

The next morning we woke up to banging above us (the third floor) as well as shingles being tossed over the side of the building (roof replacement), not the quiet we had expected when we booked.

Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and everything you could need or want is within walking distance which is why I rated the hotel a 3 overall. I would like to have been notified in advance of the renovation so I could have either pushed out my reservation or have made alternate arrangements.
I would book here again, when everything is complete.

My husband and I stayed one night at Aqua Blue as a stop on our way home from Cape Cod. It was a bit of a last minute booking, over July 4th weekend, so we paid a premium for this hotel, a lot more than I think the room we got was worth.

I found the hotel to be underwhelming in many respects. It struck me as a property that maybe was really nice at some point, but had become run down and needs better care. The plants out in front were all dead, which set up a very unwelcoming feel. The lobby looks nice enough, but the elevator was filthy! (We tired to stick to the stairs, it was that bad) Also, the hallway rugs and walls were worn and stained. The room we were assigned was dark and the rug seemed unclean. It left a lot to be desired.

While we waited to check in, another guest was complaining to the manager that her in room refrigerator was broken, the ice machine on the property was broken, and she wanted to cut her stay short. Later on the hotel had to buy ice to hand out to guests to make up for their ice machine being broken.

I will say that the hotel does have a very choice location. It’s right across the street from the ocean and there are places to eat within walking distance.

Overall, I think with some improvements and changes the hotel could be nice. However, as it stands, I’d recommend that you stay elsewhere.

Thank you for leaving a review, we appreciate your feedback. We are currently still updating as unfortunately some things were put on hold due to COVID. All our rugs were cleaned and sanitized by Clean Rite and we continue to do so. All public areas including the elevator are cleaned daily and throughout the day. Unfortunately this is obviously a very high traffic area, especially on a busy holiday weekend. Our ice machine was unfortunately broken by a guest July 4th weekend and so yes we provided ice from the front desk until a repair man could come out. Unfortunately they would not come over the holiday weekend. We are continuing to upgrade and renovate. Hopefully you come back to see us when things are complete.

The experience with the hotel is not what you would expect for a summer getaway with your husband. $300+ dollars a night to be stressed out and upset, it is not fair. We had a series of issues as listed below.
1. Rude service on the front door from the very start.
2. No room service at all. The hotel asks guests hang a tag in the door to have the room cleaned and the towels changed. However, the trick is that they leave no tags in your room to use. The receptionist in the morning said that she would put a request in, but when you returned to the room, past 5 pm, nothing was changed in your room at all. Frustrating. Needless to say to complain with the frontdoor was a waste of time due to rudeness.
3. No communication. The phone in our room didn't work to call the frontdesk.
4. My husband and I had to share the same bath towel.
5. Dispute the price charged, if no complete service was delivered, right?

We loved our stay at Aqua Blue. This hotel does not have the newest decor inside the rooms nor is it all that fancy overall but it’s clean and location is perfect for a Narragansett / Newport getaway. Gave four stars because the beds are not as firm as I like and I had wished I brought my own pillow. The hotel pool is small and was a bit too warm to be refreshing but it is hot in August and windows were open.
The hotel is close enough to the local beach to walk but FYI you cannot park in the town beach without a resident pass. We opted to drop off most of our party along with our cooler & stuff at the beach and then park at the hotel and bike it back to the beach. There is bike parking and easy drop off areas at Narragansett beach. Scarborough Beach is also just up the road and has public parking but not as nice as Narragansett town beach IMO. Coast guard house restaurant is close enough to walk to and food is excellent. Newport is just a short drive and was a highlight of our trip. Shopping around Narragansett is limited but there are decent coffee options very close by. Looks like repairs/renovations are happening alongside the building.

This place is gross. Everything about it was cringy. The rugs, the coffee, the bathrooms, the sofas in the room and lobby, the pool and hot tub… all of it. There was peeling paint, peeling wallpaper, funky mold and mildew smells, missing pieces of exterior trim and lattice, NO SPRINKLER SYSTEM!! Before you book $1000 per night room in the summer, check to make sure it got spruced up. Plus random people walking around and going in to storage rooms and closets.

No but we found a place about 5 min drive away that was self service or drop off. The machines were very clean and we put clothes in and went across the street to a cute cafe. It was located on Boon street across street from crazy burger.

Good evening mmmlara88, I am unsure about which review you are referring to. Management at Aqua Blue answers reviews regardless of ratings. This particular area of Trip Advisor is the Q&A portion so I cannot see any review. I will take a look into past reviews to see if there was one the team and I missed however, reviews posted recently take time due to Trip Advisors' screening process. Sometimes it can take a week or two to be published on the website. Please contact me directly and I will be more than happy to speak with you.
