We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2014. The price was great for Newport at less than $80 per night for a very large room. The only things that were not great....the shower made a loud noise and the breakfast was very limited, but we didn't mind and were satisfied. The staff was exceptional. I really have to compliment...

Lodging in the area is quite expensive, so I selected this hotel based on price. It is a small 23 room hotel, 2 stories. Our room featured a king bed which was comfortable with nice linens. Pillows were abundant. There was a microwave, club sized frig, wardrobe (no closet), set of drawers with tv, writing table with chair and armchair....

Came in to town for a conference in Newport and couldn't handle the steep prices in town. After arriving here I was ecstatic that it was less than 5 minutes to the conference center in Newport. Staff was incredibly friendly and more than willing to make any accomodations. Alex, at the desk, offered up a great place for dinner. Room...

This hotel is a hidden gem in Newport, RI. Clean spacious rooms in a boutique type hotel. Better than average continental breakfast. Only negative is the wireless network, which is very slow. Walkable distance from upper Thames St shops.

We arrived after a long drive and was greeted by the reception person who appeared to lack interest in guest or perhaps we were interfering with her quiet evening. The room was located at the end of the hall on the first floor; neat, clear and quiet. The WiFi was basically nonexistent, it required moving to the breakfast room to...

We had a huge handicap accessible room right off of the lobby. Felt very homelike. Everything was clean except for the overstuffed armchair. Think these should not be in hotel rooms unless they have some kind of cover that can be removed and laundered. Breakfast was just off the lobby and had enough selection to get you started. They did...

This inn desperately needs some tlc... 1. The carpets were filthy. 2. The decor is dated. 3. The furnishings are falling apart. 4. There is no water pressure in the shower. 5. The windows are cracked. 6. There was a moldy tea bag in the coffee maker for the duration of our stay. The whole place just feels cheap and...

The location and price of the hotel were fine. However, the place really needs new carpeting and windows. I learned that it used to be a nursing home that was converted to a hotel. It looks like nothing has been upgraded ever. I was surprised this was part of the Ascend Collection.
