William’s Grant Inn is an old sea captain’s home built by William Bradford Jr. in 1808 on a quiet street a short distance from Bristol town center. It is a 5-bay Federal Colonial style home. The garden with its pond placed is a wonderful place to relax. Each room is decorated in its own style and each has a queen bed and a private bath. A full gourmet breakfast is included for all guests. Working gas fireplaces are in three of the rooms. The inn is a short walking distance to many fine restaurants and numerous shops featuring antiques, arts and crafts. The East Bay bike path is famous for its gentle grades located upon an old railroad bed—it travels along the water for 15 miles from Bristol to Providence. Many museums and historic buildings are located in Bristol, such as Blithewold Mansion, Herreshoff Marine Museum, Linden Place, Coggeshall Farm, and more. Colt Sate Park is a beautiful park off the bike path adjacent to Narragansett Bay.

So glad I found this place. Met all of our expectations and Doug and Elizabeth graciously answered all our questions and even modified breakfast to meet my dietary needs. Thank you Doug and Elizabeth! Also enjoyed time outside enjoying their backyard at night.

Property's Favourite Review
The William's Grant Inn was just perfect for a family get together for 8 of my relatives. We reserved I believe a year in advance, all 5 rooms. The hosts Elizabeth and Doug could not have been warmer or more accommodating. And Mateo their loving rescue dog! And WOW for the included gourmet breakfast in the beautiful room off the garden. We all felt right at home, slept well on comfortable beds and had a lot of laughs in the beautiful garden. Was super clean. My family from different parts of the US loved Bristol. Walking distance to the waterfront and fabulous restaurants. My 98 year old mother, who lives nearby, joined us for one of the breakfasts as well as my brother every day. Elizabeth and Doug were so kind to welcome them. Price was much more reasonable than Newport area. Hope to return.

The Inn in on a quiet street in Bristol within 30 minutes of Newport. The innkeepers, Doug and Elizabeth were very hospitable. The breakfasts were excellent, suggested they write a cookbook! We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

Monique and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Williams Grant Inn. A beautiful old Inn; as soon as we saw it from the road we were impressed. The coolest surprise was to be greeted coming in by Mateo, a handsome and very friendly yellow lab. Doug and Elizabeth are very nice and knowledgeable host. This place is comfortable and homey. Finally, the food is so good. OMG, these breakfast were to die for. Thank you so much, we truly enjoyed our stay and your company as well. Brian and Monique from NH

My mother and I stayed in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast during the 4th of July week. The Innkeepers, Doug and Elizabeth, were super friendly, well informed of local area events and "must sees" and made THE MOST spectacular breakfasts daily (as well as the "welcome cookies" ) The location was perfect for the parade and other festivities and very close to a few museums and great restaurants... also very close to the harbor... I would highly recommend the William Grant's Inn for for celebrations, a quick weekend getaway or even for longer stays. It is an historical, charming and welcoming place to stay.

My Husband and I along with his parents came to Bristol RI for a wedding and stayed at this quaint bed and breakfast. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by everything. The owners Elizabeth and Doug along with Matteo the Inn pup were incredibly welcoming. Our room was located upstairs and was stocked with fresh robes and towels. The room was very bright and airy. They have an adorable garden out back with a Koi pond. We enjoyed many hours in the garden. Anything we needed they were more than happy to accommodate. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding! We absolutely enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Williams Grant Inn and will absolutely stay there again.

Frequent travelers to Rhode Island, this was our first time to Bristol and we were not disappointed. The William Grant Inn was the perfect place to stay! Charm, cleanliness, comfort, delicious full breakfast, absolutely the most welcoming hosts and a superb location where you can find a variety of restaurants to appeal to anyone. We look forward to our next visit!

Perfect b&b. Friendly hosts, comfortable room, lovely garden outside of the house with lots of seating, delicious breakfast. Very short walk to everything in town. Some places are advertised as closer to shops and restaurants but this was quite central. Highly recommended.

My partner and I visited for a wedding in Bristol and this was one of the more affordable locations to stay and I'm glad I did because the hosts were so wonderful, their rescue dog adorable, and it was a great first experience in Rhode Island for us. They made us breakfast, adjusted to my allergies and dietary needs, and the room had nice toiletry options, fresh flowers, and welcome cookies! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
