The host at the Stegmeier is very personable and gracious. He stocks a wide array of breakfast goodies in the rooms and allows guests to help themselves. The wrap around porch outside is great for evening sit downs and a chance to watch the crow\d , including numerous students from nearby Wilkes Cleege, walk by.while enjoying your favorite beverage. The...

There aren't words to describe the amazing atmosphere that the owner, Joe Matteo, has created in this spectacular mansion. I have been in many victorian house museums and victorian Bed and Breakfasts and this is top of the list. You feel the splendor of days gone by the moment you enter the massive front doors. Each room has been decorated...

My husband and I enjoy staying in unique bed and breakfasts in the U.S. and abroad and this one ranks among the best of the best. Meticulously restored, yet extremely welcoming and homey, we felt like we became part of the Stegmaier family from the moment we crossed the threshold. From the well-stocked kitchenette in every room to the fresh...

I'm sure this is a great place to get married or impress a business associate. The restoration is astonishing and the building is magnificent. A lot of work went into bringing this mansion back to life, including period furnishings and an abundance of art and photos on three living levels. We were comfortable and the owner was helpful and polite....

We saw this place in a magazine and came here for a special occasion, splurging for the finest room. We were so glad we did. The B&B is lovingly restored and decorated in gorgeous Victorian style with exceptional wallpaper, beautiful paintings, and great furniture everywhere you look. We stayed in the same room as former President Carter and it was...

My husband and I have stayed in many historic hotels and inns, often furnished with antique and period furniture, but nothing, simply nothing, comes close to the Stegmaier Mansion. Staying here was more like staying in a museum, but without the velvet ropes. Every room is spectacularly decorated with antiques, draperies, statuary, and bric-a-brac. We stayed in Amelia's suite, which...

Was at an event at the Stegmaier Mansion in Wilkes Barre recently. Very interesting property which hosts events as well as a B&B. I did not see the rooms but am told by many that they are very comfortable and well appointed. The over all reception was well done with various food stations in different rooms. For the crowd of100+...

This B&B is a lovingly restored mansion. It would take days and days to take in all the details. Reserve in advance for overnight stays. Each month, the mansion hosts special theme events (In January, a Downton Abbey Tea) that are always clever. The atmosphere is high Victorian and elegant. It's a true gem and an unusual stay. A great...

My husband and I toured this B&B/Mansion on our recent trip to Wilkes-Barre, PA and although it was totally booked and we were not able to stay the night, the owner was kind enough to give us a tour of the mansion. We have been into Victorian history for 30 years and this is one of the most fabulous mansions...

We stayed here for one night in May in the Amelia's Suite, the most elegant room in the home. This home has exquisite detail, amazing woodworking and furnishings. I have never stayed in a room with such opulence! This was a real treat for both of us. You would have to see this room to understand what I mean. Comfortable...
