We had the best time ever at the Mountain Laurel Resort. Beautiful views, a fantastic pool, and first-rate accommodations. The various games provided by the resort were fantastic. It's well worth the money. It's also close to a number of ski areas.

At first, I was hesitant to visit the resort after reading a few negative reviews. But I was surprised by the resort's cleanliness and amenities. I am very glad that I visited the place because I had a wonderful stay there.

To start off this fiasco, when we walked into the lobby there was a sign saying be back in 5 mins. About 3 mins later a man walk behind the desk and answers the phone and has a 5 minute long conversation which I over hear him apologizing and saying he will get a refund and how bad it sucks but he can't help there is a gas leak. Once he gets off the phone, us and another couple proceed to check in when he tells us that there is a gas leak and the resort is shut down! We had driven 2.5 hours and they had driven 3.5 and no attempt had been made to contact us to make us aware of this. He said we would get a refund of whatever we paid, but we are owners, so we paid maintenance fees last year, they aren't going to refund maintenance fees. So I ask if they could possibly put us in a different resort as I know they have another in the area. He said that would be up to corporate, but since we drove and were there he could look at putting us in the west wing, farthest from the leak, which we agreed to. He was courteous and very helpful the through it all. As we drove back to our parking lot the pot holes were horrible, there was trash all over the property, and it was not well maintained or even have nice landscaping. There was a huge weed growing in front of the resort sign, blocking the name. The first room we went to smelled musty and horrible. The sliding doors on the porch were hard to slide and falling off, the TV was missing in the bedroom, but the worst was the refrigerator and freezer were blowing hot air! I turned the temp down and still not cool. Went back and asked for another room. The second room was better, smell was a bit better. The fridge worked, but only 2 burners on the stove worked, but we delt with it. The patio doors about the same, hard to open and falling off. The light in the bathroom was not covered, u could see up into the fixture, there were cobwebs in the corner, the smoke alarm had tissue shoved in it, there were dead insects in the light fixture over the table and the floor felt dirty to walk on. We went to the market 5 miles down the road and got cleaning supplies and air freshener to make the place more livable. The entire week the hallway stench got worse by the day until finally by day 4 or 5 I couldn't even walk from the room to the car without keeping my shirt over my nose, the smell was that disgusting. After a very quiet first day, since the place was almost deserted, we thought we would have a quiet and relaxing night. WRONG! About 1030 we started hearing voices speaking Spanish in the hallway, that continued at least until 2-3 am. At some point I fell asleep. Around 1am heard the door handle jiggle and about 5 mins later a woman, I am assuming was cleaning, walked into my room!! She apologized and quickly left as my friend was sleeping on the couch and gave her a "look". I could hear them the entire night until I finally fell asleep. Who cleans rooms in the middle of the night?! The water temp in the shower was same as other reviews, warm, but not hot, even turned all the way up it was just comfortably warm, as expected since they told us they were having boiler problems. Our first full day there we drove down to check out mini golf, which, big surprise, is not in working order. It is all overgrown with reeds and weeds, the greens are tore up and there is no place to get golf balls or putters. We went for a walk around the property and the nature trail to check other amenities out. The tennis and basketball courts are all run down, fence falling down, light posts knocked over and on the ground, an old 4 wheeler broken down and abandoned. The nature trail was better than expected, not over grown, pretty muddy on some parts, but all the markers and signs are old, worn, broken, or missing. We just followed the paths and guessed what way to go and eventually came out by the horse stables, so we walked down and there was a man putting shoes on one of the horses, but the other 13 were in a muddy, rocky, uneven pasture with hardly any grass, just piles of hay they were munching on. Does not look like a proper pasture for them, but they do not look malnourished, and we did see people riding them one day. Another day we went down and they were near the fence looking at us so we called them over and fed them some of the knee high grass and they loved it. They really are beautiful creatures. The outdoor pool was dirty and needed skimmed. There were bugs, leaves, and debris in there because the water level was too low for it to filter. There wasn't any pump running to clean it, but it was hot so we swam. Very quiet as we were the only ones there for a while. 1 other family joined us the whole day. The pool area however is dirty, trash laying around, a broken pipe, life vests and lifeguard hip pack floating in the pool, no lifeguard on duty. Called to get more towels and wash cloths, the man told me they would bring them in 5-10 mins. 2 hours later I walked to the front desk and felt like I was in a scene from the movie the Village. There were teenage girls dressed in skirts and sweaters all over the lobby. Later, to find out there was some sort of Jewish summer camp going on. There was a pile of old computers, adding machines, and just old office supplies piled on the one wall of the lobby. There were a few of these girls behind the desk, which seemed weird, because I thought they were guests. They did not look like employees, but I asked for towels and washcloths and she was nice enough to bring them to the room. Wednesday bus loads of these girls arrived for the camp and they filled the lobby and hallways. We walked down through to get back to our room and the hallway literally was full of their luggage, trash, rollaway beds, ect. It would be a fire hazzard if codes showed up. That night at 1130 I was woke by singing. A large group was gathered in the pool area singing on what sounded like a megaphone! I was just appalled. By this point I'm wondering if there really ever was a gas leak or if they were clearing the resort for this camp, because they have completely taken over just about every area in the resort. Friday night a man knocked on the door to see if it was occupied because their system was down and they didn't know what guests they had!! We called for TP and they never brought it. That night could barely sleep because the people in the next room were playing loud music. The last day we were there we went to go to the pool to relax, now mind you the same pool we had been swimming in all week, and it was locked. The day before a man came with the key and unlocked it for us, but this time we were told it was closed and we could use the indoor pool. Now, why, after we had been using this pool all week is it suddenly closed. I mean we saw a sign in the lobby that said it was closed when we arrived, but they never stopped us before. I just don't get why they would close the outdoor pool in the summer, noone wants to swim indoors when it's hot and beautiful out. Needless to say, we packed our things and left, that was the last straw. Nothing else to do here but swim and now that isn't even available. All in all, my stay was good because I was with good company, got away and relaxed for the most part, but the state of the resort and the feeling that something was just off with this place I will not be returning. In fact, I am going to contact a lawyer to see how I can get out of this contract as an owner, because clearly they are not holding up their end of the bargain. I would not recommend this place to anyone to stay.

I noticed the Emily M review is the same experience that we had wen we checked in on July 8-15. They were also trying to get someone’s paycheck straightened out wen I was checking in too. They also called me to change my reservation due to 400 Jewish camp that was there. We didn’t have a problem with the camp but with the resort itself. Trash in the hotel hallways, flies, smelly diapers and rat poop, door locks, flies, no resturant, pool was broken, no good lighting to get around, hard to find unit and smelled bad but we received a full refund for the entire week bc we checked out the next day. They even refunded me $374 for food that I bought and couldn’t take back home. They only good came out of this was my full refund along with the food refund that I received. Mount Laurel needs to be condemned!!

Website is very deceiving! We stayed at Mt Laurel Resort July 8-15, 2022. Received phone call the week before informing us majority of resort rooms were rented out to girls summer camp during the month of July and offered to change our reservation to September. We declined since trip was for activities going on during 8-15th. The road to resort is full of potholes as is the parking lot. Trash was everywhere. While we were checking in an employee was quitting and trying to figure out final paycheck. Told the resort had just been sold, 3rd time in the past 10 years. We quickly found out the restaurant, outdoor pool, bar, spa and snack shop were all closed. The outdoor amenities such as archery, tennis, basketball, bocce ball were all unusable. The only amenity still open was the indoor pool and that was only during designated hours due to the girls camp. It took us awhile to locate our 1 bedroom unit, signs were down and faded. No luggage carts were available, ice machines all non working. Hallways smelled bad and were dark. We had planned to do our own cooking instead of going out to eat. There was no bakeware and limited pots and pans. Freezer did have 2 plastic ice cubes trays so we did have ice. Very few channels available on tv but Wifi signal was strong. Rooms are advertised as having balcony or patio but ours had neither but instead windows looked out onto flat roof that campers were walking on. Fortunately we had brought camping chairs and were able to find trees to sit under. The 6 employees that were still on the job and trying to keep resort running were overwhelmed. I think Mountain Laurel should close down until all their problems can be fixed.

Rooms were clean. A/C and heat were via two separate portable units, A/C kept tripping the breaker so drop cord was run to the other side of the room. Shower was warm, not hot. Property needs a lot of attention. Hot tub/spa out of order. Indoor pool was very busy. Sad that I booked two nights. Would not return. FYI-pet fee is $100 per pet.

The ride into the front entrance was loaded with potholes. The Front desk girl had zero people skills and did not give us any sort of friendly greeting. We basically got keys and end of conversation. The place is a disaster area. Everything needs a renovation. They say they are renovating but it is evident they have no plans to do so. I really feel bad for the employees as most were very friendly. The room was livable after I re-cleaned and bleached everything. There are zero amenities open. The lake is overgrown the mini golf is closed and run down. Everything was broken in the game room. The only thing open was the indoor pool. It was very old and we did not go in. Hot tubs are broken and not opening anytime soon. The grounds are not groomed and honestly the entire place looks closed or should be closed. The website is very deceiving. It definitely has potential but I would stay elsewhere if possible.

Terrible service. They put the wrong person in the front desk. Not showing any interest to make customer enjoyable and have a pleasant experience. I would suggest to look for other place that more reliable and cleaner. Hot water shower not hot at all.

You either really love this place, or hate it according to the reviews. I hate it. Let's start off with the one positive thing - the bed. Comfortable. I could have slept well if it wasn't for the bad things which I'll tell you now: ANTS!! Big Black ANTS!!! (I was told by an important looking man at checkout that ants come with the territory. Not the response I was looking for. Hot water? NO! The air conditioning vent up high was aimed at one of the beds. Breakfast starts at 9:00. Luckily there's a Wawa close by. I'm always leary of a "cash only" bar. I recommend "the Hang Out"' which is very close by. Sliding door to small balcony was very hard to open and close, balcony wood has seen better days. I think I had the same Mr. Coffee maker back in the 1970's. It worked ok though. My room number was 524. I leave honest reviews. Please avoid this place.
