Hershey Farm Resort has received mixed reviews, with many guests praising the inviting and modern atmosphere, spotless rooms, and the attentive service provided by friendly staff. The proximity to local attractions and the excellent food are popular among visitors.
However, some travelers feel the value isn't quite there, mentioning overpriced food and accommodation that doesn't fully meet expectations. While the renovated rooms are generally appreciated for their cleanliness and cozy decor, issues with lighting, maintenance, and some dated furnishings have been noted.

Fantastic room in the Carriage House! Ideal for a quick get-a-way. We knew that the Restaurant was not available due to the fire in Jan, and had expected either no breakfast or standard cereal, toast, etc. breakfast. Hershey Farms went overboard! Three rooms in the Inn have been converted to a breakfast buffet area with the standards but also with plenty of cooked foods and made to order omelets and belgian waffles.

We chose this hotel because is was within walking distance from the Sight and Sound Theater but I would stay here again because the location, service, rooms and restaurant were excellent! The room was immaculate, the bathroom a little small but comfortable. The floor was not carpet which to me is a plus, there is a refrigerator and microwave in each room. The bedding was clean and the pillows comfy, the bed was a little hard for me but fine for others in our group. The TV was large enough to be seen in the entire room, and there were plenty of channels to choose from. It is a short walk to the restaurant. They offer a fantastic Smorgasbord with many choices, the Fried Chicken is delicious. With your room key you get a 20% discount for lunch or dinner and Breakfast is Free when you stay at the hotel. There are shops on the property and a cute petting zoo! Animal food is $1.00 at the hotel desk. There is plenty to do in the area. Its a short drive to antique & local shopping and sight seeing.

My wife and I found this inn as we were looking for a place close to Sight and Sound; what a gem! You can walk on a special path to the theatre. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, even calling almost immediately after I emailed a question. Upon check-in they were so nice and made us feel like we were home. We stayed in the Carriage House and it was so nice and clean with a really neat touch of a rolling barn door to separate the sleeping area from the bathroom. The petting zoo was small but was a nice addition. The restaurant was an experience and the food was superb! We had dinner there and the value was excellent for the all you can eat buffet (smorgasbord); even of better value was the breakfast smorgasbord which was included. Being from PA I was thrilled to have the shoo-fly pie and whoopie pies!

The Inn has a wonderful off season package that includes a two-night stay at reduced rates, as well as free full breakfast and cooked to order dinner in the Grill restaurant. This was our second year to take advantage of this offering, and we plan to make it an annual event. We have combined our visits with seeing a play at the beautifully restored Fulton Playhouse in downtown Lancaster, but there are plenty of activities available in the area. There are several room options at the Inn. This year, we stayed in the main Inn and our room had a balcony from which we had a breathtaking view of the farm property - beautiful Pennsylvania countryside and a pond, home to both white and black geese. There is also a comfortable lobby, complete with a warm fire - and ice cream is always available. And, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We think we have found a real gem.

My family and I spent 2 wonderful nights at the Hershey Farm in the Carriage House. The rooms were quite comfortable. There was no noise; except from the geese when I walked around the pond. Rooms were clean and well-supplied. Housekeeping was accommodating when I requested additional towels. We took a walk around the grounds to check out the animals in the barn and the pens up front. We browsed the gift shop which has a wide variety of items to choose from. The main focus of Hershey Farm for us is the buffet, of course. Four hot lines of yummy choices plus a salad bar and breads, a hot grill, and the dessert section. If you are still hungry when you leave, you have a problem. I LOVE the ham balls for dinner and the french toast casserole at breakfast. This trip they also had a creme' brulle dessert in the evening that was SOOO good. I was glad I'm not a diabetic - my sugar would have been a tad high. This trip was booked in January for October with the desire to see Queen Esther at Sight and Sound. Hershey Farm helped me to book the tickets for the show and provided a discount when booking through them. An overall excellent experience and one I will repeat some time next year when David is set to play at Sight and Sound.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. Our room was in the carriage house. The bathroom was very spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable and there was laminate floors with a rug on top. The breakfast buffet was the best we have ever experienced at a hotel. They have an extensive gift shop, bakery and outdoor area (we bought pumpkins and gourds here). Some things I wish they would update in the room was to add a blackout curtain. We had blinds but they let in so much light that you could see everything with the lights off. I did mention this when we checked out so hopefully they will add a curtain for future guests. I also wish they had a shelf above the hanging bar in the closet. There was nowhere to leave our tote bags other than the dresser top. Other than those two things, the hotel was very nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed two nights (Sun, Mon) in May, just to get away and shop in the Lancaster area. Check-in was a breeze. There was a mistake on the reservation (my fault, not theirs), which was quickly and easily rectified by a friendly desk clerk. We (2 adults) stayed in the Carriage House,in a remodeled room apart from the main hotel. There is a pond with ducks, an enclosed area with goats, benches to sit on outside, an outdoor pool, and lobby beverage station, as well as a driveway and footpath leading directly to Sight and Sound. No housekeeping service due to covid precautions, but there was a bag of fresh towels, soap, drink cups, coffee pods for the Keurig, and trash liners hanging from our door the morning after our first night. A full breakfast at their buffet was included and thoroughly enjoyed. The only issue was that the room's air conditioning worked fine but we couldn't figure out how to get heat when the temps outside dropped. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Room was on first floor, convenient to the parking lot. The rooms are very clean. They clean the rooms and actually wash the wooden floors after each guess leaves. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. If we needed items like extra towels, soap, shampoo etc the staff was very happy and quick to supply.
They have a delicious, free smorgasbord breakfast every day that you stay. they also serve lunch and dinner for a very reasonable price. the food is good and plentiful. The servers bring your soft drinks and they are all pleasant and helpful. There is a small animal area where you can visit and feed the animals. The grounds are lovely. All in all we had a wonerful time. We stay there every time we go to Lancaster!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hershey Farm Inn and Restaurant overnight while in the area to see the show at that Sight and Sound Theater. We have decided that this is the place we will always stay when going to a show at this theater. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Carriage House. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and it was so convenient to be able to park right outside our door. There is a private road that goes right to the theater so that you avoid the stream of cars trying to get to the parking lot. The next morning, we were treated to a breakfast smorgasbord, which was included in the stay. This was not the usual hotel type of breakfast that you get at most hotels; this was a full hot and scrumptious buffet, including omelets made to order. There was everything you could possibly imagine available. The restaurant is just a very short walk from whichever building you had spent the night. There is no need to use your car. I can’t say enough about this place. It was just wonderful from beginning to end!

The ice cream waffle bowl they sell is well worth the $8.00 large enough for 2 to share. Staff is very friendly. The king room at the main house on the first floor was wonderful. The shower was incredible. It had a large rain shower head in the center of the shower along with a wand on the wall. Hot water heated up right away. Bed was comfortable. I loved the patio/balcony. Only negative was they should have a card by remote for air conditioning remote directions as you have to point the remote toward the air conditioner to make temp higher or lower otherwise it does not do anything.

Currently, there are no designated ADA rooms. However, you are able to request ground floor rooms with walk-in showers available at The Main Inn. The expansion planned for 2024-25 will bring in a number of ADA rooms.
The Restaurant & Shoppes will be closed until Spring of 2024 due to a devestating fire in January, 2023. We are excited for the return of our Restaurant, Bakery, and Shoppes as we anticipate the grand opening to be in May, 2024.
It varies depending upon the date and type of room. Check their website- the room rates are listed on each date.
