You cannot miss the Trail House and its adjacent bike shop if you are cycling the GAP, it abuts the trail! We loved that the town is so safe that doors can be left open and bikes unlocked! We let ourselves in and enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves for a time! The owners left a plate of cookies,...

The RTH is conveniently close to the trail, and despite the fact that no one is there to greet you when you arrive we found the details of our stay to be easily understood from the hand-written notes that Lynn and Debbie left for us. As has been noted by others, you should not expect "fine dining" in Rockwood -...

I was reading some of the past reviews, and I have to say that the issues people mentioned have NOT been resolved. Our group arrived at the B&B around 5:00 p.m. after biking in the rain all day. No one around to greet us and no notes to explain how things work. Bike shop was closed and no hose to...

Comfortable and literally on the GAP trail. All comforts of home including washer drier. As with any bnb on GAP trail, bring ear plugs since CSX freight trains run in same valley and sound horns through the night. Beds good. Fresh clean linens. No fuss, no muss. Recommended.

This bike shop has unpredictable hours and when open the business takes advantage of being a convenience to cyclist. Blew two tubes and nearly crashed on the trail. Arrived at the shop looking to check tire inflation and buy 2 replacement tubes. Cost = .50 to use air pump + $8/tube.

Although the B&B itself is nice (and the breakfast is very good), there is no way to get any sleep at night because the trains run by the house (about 300 feet away, with full whistles blowing) every 30 minutes for most of the night. Because this house is also on the main road, you also get trucks running by...

There were 4 of us cycling the GAP (C&O) from Pittsburgh to D.C. On day two, we stopped overnight at the Rockwood Trail House. Very convenient and easy to find as it is located right there where the trail goes thru Rockwood. They offered a secure place to lock up the bicycles, and had a garden hose out in the...

First the good parts: convenient to the trail, a filling hearty breakfast, queen size beds, en suite bathrooms, laundry facilities for a small fee. The B& B is very clean Now the not so good: If you do not happen to arrive when the bike shop is open, your bikes are spending the night on the porch. The stairs are...

For GAP trail riders, this B&B is a perfect combo of immaculate accommodations, a well-equipped bike shop, and a lovely, locally-sourced breakfast prepared by owner Lynn. The house itself is full of fun antiques and memorabilia. Don't be fooled by the outside of the house (badly in need of a paint job, but happily siding on the way)--clearly much thought,...

We have stayed here often on multi-day trips on the Great Allegheny Passage. Cold beverages and cookies are always waiting after the long 30 mile climb up from Ohiopyle. Most guests are bikers, so it is a good idea to take shoes/cleats off as mentioned. Breakfasts have been delicious hearty fare- pancakes with local maple syrup, local sausage/bacon, eggs, juice,...
