While it looks close to downtown, it is deceiving because of all of the bridges and hills around Pittsburgh. It is hard to find. Once we found it, it is a bit different, as it shares a garage with a retirement community apartment complex. You also have to go upstairs to register and then back down to your car to...

I spent 10 nights here for a business trip and the hotel was selected for me. I could not fault the room that came with a diner suite. Unfortunately there is no restaurant or bar although complimentary drinks and Bbq are provided on some evenings. There are some families staying with children long term and on occasions these are not...

I really enjoyed my one night stay at Residence Inn Pittsburgh /Medical Center. I needed a room close to the University of Pittsburgh and this was perfect considering I booked this room the day of. Great outdoor terrace to enjoy your breakfast and scenery! Really enjoyed my stay, Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The first time I stayed at this hotel I couldn't find it. I called the hotel and stayed on the phone (Bluetooth) until I pulled in the lot. Staff has always been very friendly. Including the front desk and staff working throughout the facility. They do hospitality right! Parking in the lot is $15 per day with in/out privileges. There...

I was surprised to not find a luggage rack. The explanation that many guests stayed for extended periods didn't make sense. Don't these folks also have to unpack and pack? The lack of water glasses at the bathroom sink was also surprising. This time the explanation was that these were glasses and cupos in the kitchen cabinet seemed good, but...

Solid hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but the location is great. They also have a shuttle that will take you around the Oakland area. The parking is easy and there area is very walkable. The breakfast is the normal Residence fare.

Very reasonably priced. Had a suite, queen size bed and pull out couch. Very clean and comfortably sized. Dishes and flatware in kitchen with full fridge and micro! On site parking garage for $15 a day parking. Refreshing swim and hot tub. Fantastic view of the downtown and large terrace. Breakfast was included. Great selection of choices; waffles, scrambled eggs,...

Recently I stayed at this hotel. It was very convenient to the hospital and I appreciated the great staff that made my stay a good one. The evening had a reception with appetizers and each morning had a breakfast that was tasty. Residence inn is a great hotel brand and I'll be back.

So, while you won't get the walkaround urban feel (nothing really at street level except one place across the st) you ARE in walking distance of Pitt Campus, about a mile from Shadyside medical center and a shuttle ride to restaurants in Bloomfield and Downtown. Anyway, the real draw for us was the terrace, first to sit outside, second as...
