We all have our little 'issues' when it comes to hotels. For some it's the staff. For others it may be location. And for others it may be quaintness. And if a lodging falls short in any one of those areas, it gets excoriated. For me it's the shower. But everything else was terrific. The staff is wonderful. It's a... More

This past summer my family and I hosted an 80th birthday celebration for my mother-in-law at the Priory. All of the staff at The Priory helped us pull off the big surprise and the event was fabulous. We had a catered dinner that was delicious, the service was outstanding and a number of our guests stayed overnight. The rooms are... More

The Priory was wonderful! The facility and the staff were amazing! The facility is an old monestary they turned into a bed and breakfast. They kept all of the original woodwork, doors; etc.--absolutely gorgeous! And free parking and free shuttle service to PNC Park!

This property is beautifully renovated in a transitional neighborhood. While it is somewhat safe, there really isn’t place one can stroll for shops and restaurants. The Andy Warhol Museum is just 3 blocks away and “downtown” Pittsburgh an easy walk across the 7th Street Bridge. The hotel runs a shuttle (by reservation) so they can pick you up or take... More

I don't know if I would love this location if not for its proximity to the baseball stadium. Didn't hear gun shots or anything but you wondered... Hotel has lots of character. Bed was very comfortable and the shower, although small, had good water pressure. We left too early in the morning to take advantage of the included breakfast but... More

After reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor I booked a room here. They matched a price I saw online and gave me a kingbed room. I pulled onto the street and thought, this must be wrong. It did not initially feel like a great neighborhood and I kept looking at how far away downtown seemed to be - across the... More

After a long drive, we reached our destination for the night. The area is rather run down in comparison to other areas of the city and I was rather disappointed as I had not been alerted to this on Tripadvisor. During our trip, we had mainly stayed in B&B's where the hosts are so welcoming. On arrival here, there was no... More

My husband and I make an annual trip to Pittsburgh from Detroit to ride the local mountain bike trails, and this was our third stay at the Priory. We did not opt for a room in the new wing this time to save some cash, and we were perfectly content in Room 303 with a nice view of the city... More

The Priory is an historic inn on the North Shore of Pittsburgh. It is located in a somewhat depressed area, but offers an experience indoors that quickly makes you forget what's outdoors. A beautiful structure wonderfully renovated. I had a single room with what was called a twin bed. But it was more like a small full-size mattress and I... More

We were back in Pittsburgh and again stayed in the wonderful Priory (which we reviewed several years ago). By chance we arrived unaware that our stay coincided with the Priory's "third Thursday" wine tasting dinner events. We were lucky enough to be able to join the event as it started, and it was a special treat, highly recommended. But, for... More
