A stunningly laid out boutique hotel. Check out the story behind its establishment - so romantic. Elegantly furnished with a distinct French meets Balinese flavour. Lushly planted and secluded, it's a welcoming haven of cool and quiet after a hot and dusty day navigating the beach clubs and shops of Canggu. Lavish breakfasts (try the fluffy scrambled eggs with truffle oil and mushrooms) and delicious light lunches, in a tranquil poolside setting. Welcoming and helpful staff, always ready to offer a buggy ride to the beach and nearby cafes. A stay here feels really special and intimate. We can't wait to go back.

Flawless in every way.
A brand new kid on a black this hotel was a fantastic surprise.
Designed by a talented French architect and interior designer, the attention to detail is everywhere . I particularly loved the bar area in the room. Such a nice treat .
Free breakfast was top notch, including crunchy croissants that are so difficult to achieve in humid climate.
High tea from 3/5pm is not to be missed.
Walking distance from the hotel are plenty of restaurants, organic nail salon, etc.
Stay here if you are into boutique experience hotels.

A beautiful and peaceful getaway in the heart of Canggu. This French inspired boutique hotel is luxurious! The pool is massive and has lots of cabanas for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. The room was incredible with every small detail accounted for, including a full coffee/tea/alcohol bar in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable it was difficult to get out of! The staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful, bringing us delicious flavored water while we were enjoying the pool and turn down service at night. The chandeliers and paintings in the hotel are extremely beautiful and the whole place is picture perfect. The restaurant Cafe Le Rouge was exquisite! Every item is displayed beautifully, the portions are very generous, and the coffee and croissants were heavenly. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bali!

Without question this is the most tastefully designed boutique hotel I have ever stayed at.
Imagine the winds blowing together a chic french villa with the best of Balinese culture and sensibility. It was such a pleasure to walk around the grounds and through the rooms of my suite, simply noticing the small details, angles, and lighting choices. The room was elegant yet cozy. One of the highlights was the bathroom shower leading directly to my private swimming pool.
The restaurant was an open air luxurious cafe directly adjacent to the large swimming pool. I was highly impressed by the food selections and had most of my meals at the hotel.
If you like french flavor and Balinese feeling of ease, please do yourself a favor and come to La Reserve.

The hotel is perfect for couples or if you're traveling by yourself and looking for a calm retreat. The service is extremely guest-oriented and I genuinely felt like no wish is too great.
We were traveling as a vegan couple looking for luxury and found exactly that. We were a bit nervous at first, because the breakfast menu has little to no vegan options, but we were prepared new creations by the chef every morning! Every single one of the dishes well thought out, mutli-layered flavors and presented beautifully. Breakfast at la Reserve really is an experience!
We booked one of the hotel rooms with a private pool. Even though the pool doesn't really heat up too much over the daytime and it's rather small, I would book the room again. We enjoyed taking a cold swim every night before going to bed.
The beach is in walking distance to the hotel but the concierge will be happy to give you a free ride with the hotel buggy. The sunsets are expremely beautiful here.
The city centre is within a 20-30 minute walk, but the road includes barely any pathways and are extemely crowded with motorcylces. This seems to be pretty typical for Bali, so we ended up taking the motorcycle taxi as well (we used the app Gojek).
Overall, our stay at the hotel was a unique experience and we enjoyed it a lot. We've been to quite a few hotels but have never experienced quite this level of service. We hope to be back in the future!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Reserve in Bali. Every aspect of our experience was simply marvelous. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was evident, and we truly admired the captivating aesthetics of the place. It was impeccably clean, exuding an elegant and refined ambiance. The kindness, care, and readiness of the entire staff left us thoroughly impressed.

One of the highlights of our stay was the exquisite and thoughtfully crafted breakfast menu. The flavors and presentation were exceptional, truly a delight to the senses. Our room, the Chambre de Laure, was nothing short of spectacular. It was meticulously cleaned and tended to daily, and every request we had was met with a smile.

The additional service of being chauffeured around nearby places in the electric vehicle was a lovely touch, and the staff's recommendations on where to explore were spot on. La Reserve truly feels like a corner of paradise, and we're already eagerly anticipating our return. For those in Canggu, discovering this gem is an absolute must!

I am actually a little reluctant to write a review for La Reserve because I want to selfishly keep it for myself. Kidding, life gets in the way after vacation and I can only post this review now - about a month later.

First off, just some background.. we have stayed at many beautiful and great resorts in Bali and around the world eg: Amanoi, Amanpuri, Amandari in Ubud, Bvlgari Bali, Raffles Bali, Hoshinoya Bali, various Capella properties etc.

Naturally, I have some reservations when my partner decided on staying at La Reserve to explore Canggu. "Why not a better hotel baby?"

But of course, the missus is always right. And in many areas.

The food and service were wonderful. Most staff are pleasant, sincere and cheerful. The GM, Mr Ngurah was very friendly, witty and insisted on us letting him know if there was anything unsatisfactory or if there's anything he could do for us. We appreciate such straight-forwardness and the attention to details. You could tell he's doing a good job and that this is a tightly run ship.

One thing we love about La Reserve is that they allow us to rest fully before having a late breakfast and are amenable to off-menu requests like sliced avocado for breakfast. Food was VERY GOOD. Better than some of the popular cafes out there. And trust us, we had ate at many amazing places. In fact, we travel around the world to eat.

We also love the buggy service that brings us to various popular dinner spots like Shelter etc. One time, we finished a massage nearby and the buggy came back and waited to fetch us to bring us to dinner just in case we couldn't find our way there. Such thoughtful service comes from the heart rather than duty.

Room wise, the room is clean, fairly new and comfortable. It is small (well, it's not a villa) but we enjoyed the view of the pool and the greenery.

If they can install a small, simple gym (treadmill + weights) to burn off all the delicious food, that will be even more wonderful!

We are already planning our next trip back to La Reserve. In fact, I will plan a solo trip back if the missus can't make it! Just remember, the missus is always right :)

I have stayed in many hotels over the years but never written a review before. La Reserve 1785 however, more than deserves my efforts. This hotel & the staff who run it are exceptional at setting standards in care & attention to detail that go above and beyond.

The rooms are beautiful, the pool is beautiful, the massage facilities are beautiful, and the food & cocktails that were carefully prepared each and every day were just wonderful.

I recommend La Reserve without hesitation.

I know very well Bali where I have been several times but yesterday a new place is born where you have to stay has been inaugurâtes. Something differentwith a French touch you are in Bali but you feel a French atmosphère in the decoration, all details are personalized:the issues of the beats, the lights, the Doors, two find the same inintelligibilités another place.he garden, the temples, the pool, the statues, each élément is unique. Impossible to find the same in another place, Only in La Réserve 1785.Your stay in Bali is usually unforgettable but your stay in La Réserve 1785 Will oblige you to comme back.
Thanks a lot to the French architecte Laura to vie us this pressure to spend this night in Bali and promote the Gods Island around the world

Our stay was perfect. The staff were attentive, kind and generous, always going beyond to make sure our needs were satisfied. They communicated quickly if we had questions or needed reservations making.

The food quality and presentation was excellent.. plenty of breakfast choices (a la carte) and we also ate off the lunch menu and that too was delicious.

The pool area is beautiful. The pool itself is large, however as the hotel only has a few rooms, it was never crowded and we didn’t notice any other guests… felt like a private villa to ourselves.

The hotel is situated off a busy street with plenty of nice restaurants and shops.. but the hotel is hidden and therefore completely private, so the perfect place to stay for a quiet and peaceful time.

Our suite was spacious, freshly cleaned twice a day, and we didn’t see one mosquito (a big plus!). We had a private plunge pool and terrace area, which was lovely for relaxing.

La Reserve is a touch of luxury and I would highly recommend staying, as you get the best of Bali… serenity but a walk away from the bustling streets.

If we’re ever back in Bali, it’s definitely where we would stay again.
