Well let me say it's very nosey and loud .One Person definitely stood the front desk receptionist Tonya she was very helpful and was very well spoken and was very patient and attentive to everyone's needs.
Everything was fantastic from the minute we arrived. Mark at the front desk was so helpful with everything we needed in the hotel. Lori the shuttle driver knows everything there is to know about the area and Sesame Place. She is one of the friendliest people I've ever met. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast was good. We chose this hotel because of the shuttle to Sesame, and we are so glad we did.
We’ve stayed at most of the Sesame Place preferred hotels in the area and we’re so glad we finally discovered this one. The rooms are spacious (1 bedroom suite always clutch with kids). The pool has a working hot tub. There’s free breakfast (the quality of the food leaves something to be desired, and it gets packed, but that’s the only knock we have against this hotel). The thing that really stood out though and the reason I’m writing this review is they brought back their shuttle service and Lori really goes above and beyond. She decorated the shuttle with Sesame characters, plays Sesame videos and songs from her phone, informed us about local sights and happenings, and hyped Sesame Place with a countdown as we approached the park… every ride! It’s like she was trained by Disney to create a magical experience. Keep up the great work, Lori!…
We stayed 2 nights to go to Sesame Place and it was awesome. The pool, breakfast and staff are amazing. Our room was a suite with two rooms and a kitchen and was perfect for little ones. And the best part is Lori the shuttle driver to Sesame! You save a ton by not having to pay for parking and Lori will come and pick you up whenever! Would strongly recommend!
We are avid travelers and have always loved staying at this hotel while visiting Sesame Place. We were terribly dismayed when on arrival we were told our room would not be cleaned at all during our stay. Four days where they refused to change our trash, bedding, or even vacuum the floor. We have a crawling baby and would not dream of going a day without cleaning the floor at home. The staff was wonderful, and were clearly being forced to deal with the rules of a corporation that is using COVID19 as an excuse to just stop cleaning rooms. I work in medicine and I assure you a room can be safely entered to clean it. We have recently stayed in a Hilton, a Hyatt and at Legoland NY. They all somehow managed to safely clean our rooms while we stayed. Not to mention the room wasn’t exactly spotless to start. I found pieces of plastic in the corners our baby easily could have swallowed. Again, we do not blame the staff who were polite, helpful, and clearly overworked and understaffed. While the employees suffer I’m sure the CEO of Marriot is enjoying a raise this year, we certainly will not be contributing to it again.…
Furniture in the suite was in very poor condition. Breakfast was almost non edible. Tried to have a bagel and the two toasters were not working. Was told one of the toasters caught on fire over the weekend because a guest put bacon in it. Yet they left the toaster out just unplugged with no note not to use. So I plugged it in and tried to use it. The other toaster (a regular 2 slice toaster) wasn’t working either. The sausage sandwiches where soggy and Luke warm. I feel the 2 stars was a generous review. Will not stay here again
I sold my house in 2020 and moved to the residence inn soon after that., I thought I would be there a few weeks or a month but that stay ended up being 11 months. I was given a room that had multiple issues one of them being no heat , a shower that did not work correctly , a broken window, issues with plumbing and more. Why because no had reported them So when I did they acted surprised. When I left 11 months later some of the same issues remained and the staff acted annoyed that people had to come to my room often to fix things. Well the hotel needs more staff and needs to pay attention to what guests say. I would not recommend them for long term stays for sure. And the mattresses are stained and lumpy and they refuse to replace them even though they are more then 10 years old. it was beyond disgusting to see the condition of the mattresses and to hear well you just have to make do as most of the rooms look this way some even worse then yours. Really. They just spent money to have the hotel power washed and painted to entice you to come but what about the rooms where people stay. I am more interested in that and I was not the only one to have issues with plumbing, and heat. And I had a problem with both tv's that was never resolved and sorry I paid for a room with working tv's and 11 months later nothing had been done to correct the problem except replacing some wires that clearly did nothing. god forbid they get outside help in to fix anything in the hotel, that is frowned upon and they insist their maintenance crew all of two guys do the work and if they cannot fix it oh well. It took four months for a real phone guy to show up and replace wiring and such so the house phone would work. Come on now. the phone man was blown away when he heard how long I had waited for a repair and asked what their problem was and pointed out the phones are old and outdated and if they upgraded this might not have happened but most people use a cell phone so they do not worry but this is how they communicate with guests from the front desk to your room. I mean it is unreal how the place is run and some of the staff do care and others are just okay because they are paid to be nice to the guests. Some of the staff are geniune and others seem only to care about collecting your money on a weekly basis and they never forget to remind you of what is owed like you are going to run away when you have no place to go and are traveling with an animal. And it seems if you are going to point out defects in the hotel or the way things are run then you are labeled a problem person and treated much differently then those that chose to ignore the problems they might have and that is not fair. they need some retraining in how they think and mattresses and such need to be replaced in every room and attention to detail is needed. I cleaned my own room the whole time I was there and never bothered anyone but in the end my room was sold for the thanksgiving holiday and I got little notice to vacate. Not the way to treat someone who had been there that long. I ended up leaving but not in the way that I would have wanted to go. SO said stay if you are going to be there short term and if not realise you might have issues with the place and they might not get solved.…
Staff were very nice. Room outdated and questionably cleaned- plastic debris found in multiple areas. Bed was old and sagging in the center. Fold out couch bed was in incredibly bad shape and sagging as well. We were only here to sleep, but I'd skip this one if you plan to spend any significant time in the room.
We had such a lovely stay at this hotel while visiting our brother who lives in the area. Carol and Kenny made breakfast delicious and refreshing, and Patrick gave us such warm, professional service at check in. Tonya was helpful and friendly, and we are grateful to all of the hotel staff for making our visit so smooth and family-friendly. It's also close to Sesame Place!
Overall, the hotel was awesome! From the rooms, to the cleanliness of the hotel, but mainly the hotel staff. I'd especially like to say that Carol (who ran the breakfast area by herself) was absolutely amazing! She always had a smile on her face as she was working the room. The front desk was also very friendly and helpful!!
