My wife and I stayed at Cove Haven for a long weekend in September. This was our 4th stay at this resort. Here's what we love about Cove Haven: TONS of fun activities are included. We golfed at a driving range, played ladderball by the pool, played racquetball and pool at the sports plex, hung out in the hot tub at the indoor pool. You can also do archery, ride bikes, even ice skating in the summer. All of these are included. They have fun couples games throughout the day, like doing a race while saran-wrapped together, or dirty trivia. Lots of entertainment, including, bands and a hypnotist. In particular the John McNutt band was excellent. The room was large, with a comfortable bed, fridge and heart shaped hot tub. We had a balcony overlooking the lake (we stayed in the Harbor Towers). Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Easy check in/out. Here's where there is room for improvement: The Forever Lovers discount situation was very confusing, we had 3 previous stays which used to qualify you for discounts, but we were told we were only "bronze" level and discounts only kick in when you hit silver (one more stay). So that didn't really get us anything. No water sports due to lack of staffing. There used to be tubing, paddle boats etc. All they needed was one or 2 people to check out the equipment. Entertainment was hit-miss. In particular the headline on Saturday night was a really bad comedian. Food was also hit/miss. The grits were the best part of breakfast, and we had some good food at dinner, but very inconsistent. Please bring back the strawberry shortcake from 7 years ago, which has a real biscuit in it instead of store bought pound cake. The facilities need updating, there were gutters falling off roofs, rickety stairs in places, rusty fence rails on the balcony, and puddles of water and twigs and leaves on our balcony which should have been cleaned off. You can tell they are working to make improvements, so I don't blame the resort which I'm sure is struggling from the pandemic. Overall, despite the faults, we had a great time at Cove Haven, and would go back.

Hotel's Favourite
My husband surprised me with reservations to Cove Haven Champagne Towers. Each room has indoor swimming pool. Some have sauna, fireplace and our room had 6 foot tall Champagne Glass Jaccuzzi. This is The Land of Love and my land cruise. Breakfast and Dinner is all inclusive. The chef does an amazing job. If you have special dietary needs just let them know ahead of time and they will accommodate . Servers are upbeat , kind and thoughtful. Adult games, afternoon snacks and then dinner. Several forms of entertainment are available. Roller skating, ice skating, billiards, seasonal boat rides , snowmobiling, and much more. Give it a try, I think you will love it. No children allowed! Parents need fun too....

The staff is super friendly particularly Chris and Dennis in the restaurant. Chris knew I have a glute intolerance and was able to identify all items that were safe for me to eat and found gf bread too. The resort it self needs some updates as it looks worn out and many amenities were not available. The food was ok. The kitchen could make some minor changes to their menu to make it more gluten friendly. The breakfast buffet has the liquid scrambled eggs which make me sick so I asked if I could have fresh eggs and was told no. The oatmeal was thick and unappealing, the yogurt was eh, so I was limited to fruit, toast, and bacon. Not much of a breakfast. Hopefully they get some updates to their menu and buildings and maybe I'll come back.
