We were at Fountaindale with two other rooms full of friends and family for Xmas in July in 2014. I understand the place has since changed hands, so pls keep in mind that my review is a year late! Personally, I had a fantastic time. Fountaindale is/was grand, run down, but still glorious, in her own unique tired old way....

Our weekend in Robertson was exactly what we wanted and The Fountaindale Grand Manor made it better than what we'd hoped for. A beautiful grand house. Steeped in history. Open fire places, a spacious, comfortable room for relaxing in not just sleeping. Beautiful rooms to share but so large that you feel like you're the only ones there. Lisa and...

Our group had a wonderful experience , they are renovating this grandeur place back to its former glory that I remember as a child . We loved our stay and I will be bringing the Sydney Gourmet foodies back again soon.

My partner and I stayed over the June long weekend for 2 nights. We couldn't get a room with an ensuite and were told we'd be using the shared bathroom facilities which was fine by us. When we arrived, however, we were put in a huge family room with 4 beds right at the end of the corridor (as far...

What an amazing opportunity to cash in on the Sydney market but completely missed. Are the owners totally cash strapped or lack an opportunistic mentality? Probably both. Big room and very little bar heater for the southern highland cold. I am generally not a fan of the overpriced mini bar but I want the choice to say no! No phone...

Hello Michelle, You may be unaware of the history of this Grand Old Manor house and the change of ownership recently. We havent had a "Michelle" staying with us lately, so I'm not sure when you may have stayed? The building is now under new management and if you have been there over the years, you will notice a lot...

Set amidst beautiful, lush gardens in the rural Southern Highlands of NSW ~ what a beautiful old manor house to have High Tea! The staff were pleasant but not overly attentive - there weren't many guests but I think it seemed understaffed and once we were given our High Tea they didn't come near us to offer refills etc.and we...

My husband really wanted to treat me on our weekend in the Highlands. We sat in the lounge by the fire while Rachel served us a lovely High-tea. It was quiet, calm and indulgent and we loved it. Thank you

It was a surprise weekend booked for a belated birthday from my best friend. We left the hustle and bustle of the big smoke and stopped off for dinner in Bowral. We arrived around 8.15pm at the Fountaindale Grand Manor as we drove up the driveway to the beautiful old hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Toby at the...

I booked what I thought was going to be a lovely romantic weekend getaway with my husband, I paid enough for it! As soon as we arrived and saw our very expensive room, we started debating whether we should just drive home again. Awful, miserable shared bathroom facilities - this was not mentioned in the ad. Freezing room, we had...

Dear Wenelle, Since your visit to Fountaindale back in July, the property has undergone new ownership and new management. The property was used usually for function purposes and exclusive use, so not the usual "drop in hotel envronment" you may have been expecting. Yes, it is a very old (90 years) Grand building that doesnt have central heating etc. It...

Spent the long weekend October 2014 at Fountaindale. New owners of one week managed to highlight this Grand Old Lady's Charms. Bed was large and comfortable, feather comforter, large fresh white bath towels etc. etc. The present owners understand the need for upgrade and have great plans in store. Not withstanding run down condition, this hotel exudes charm and captures...
